Kathy Staff did appear in the 30th series; she simply did not appear in the New Years Special. The 30th series was filmed in early to mid 2008, way before her death. She had intended to leave the show after series 30 to concentrate on her health. So, unless and until a 31st series airs without her, she is still a current cast member in that there are unaired episodes featuring her.

And the quartet photo is not included because Wikipedia has a policy against overusing non-free images. Because all three photos are copyright by the BBC, we can only include the photos sparingly. There is a compelling reason to have the two photos on the page that remain: to illustrate the most well-known and popular version of the trio and to illustrate the current trio. The quartet photo could not be justified so: the group as such is not as well-known as the Compo/Clegg/Foggy trio and is not the current group. Redfarmer (talk) 16:07, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

Series Nine

The Bright and Ross book, which was fully approved by the crew and the BBC, lists series nine, the first series these characters appeared in, as beginning 4 January 1986 after the New Year's Special was broadcast 1 January 1986 (pp 182-183). I can't speak for everything else you're talking about, but I have a verifiable reliable source that demonstrates my date, while your sources may very well be taken out of context. You should note as well that a full series did not air in 1987. The only new episode to air was "Big Day at Dream Acres," the New Year's Special for 1987. What you saw could well have been adverts for repeats. Redfarmer (talk) 09:02, 29 August 2009 (UTC)

I am still skeptical, although not as much as I was. One of my problems is that there is no year in the scan. Also, I would need the air dates of the two specials, Merry Christmas, Father Christmas, and Big Day at Dream Acres, straightened out and explained. If you can provide these, we'll talk. LotSW series 31

Hi, you've re-added this info, but have not provided new references (the three that are present were there before the page was redirected). In two of your edit summaries you put "Radio Times", but that is not valid as a reference: a ref should not only be in the article itself (as opposed to the edit summary) but at the very least should give, in addition to the name of the magazine, the date and page number. I can't find any relevant info in either the current issue (10 July 2010) or the next (17 July 2010). Where is it please? --Redrose64 (talk) 17:26, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
