The Mystery of Edwin Drood

An editor added a lot of new info. Can you please take a look and see if you have any refinements? Best regards, -- Ssilvers 03:14, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

Thanks. I upgraded the article to B-class. That new editor seems very good! -- Ssilvers 02:25, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

Musicals stubs

Good work on Sweet Charity. For a while I have been focusing a lot of my energy on trying to upgrade musicals stubs to "start" class or better, especially early musicals. This month, at Wikipedia:WikiProject Musical Theatre/COTM we have agreed to focus on stub-class musicals articles beginning with the letter "A". Can you look over the list of (Category:Stub-Class Musical Theatre) articles and see if you can expand any of the "A's" (or just pick a couple at random)? Thanks for any help! -- Ssilvers 02:25, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for all the great work on the COTM. 2 thoughts: When you upload a web image to Wikipedia, I think you need to give the URL of where you got it from. Also, it is probably good to state in the Fair use description that "the image cannot be replaced by a free image," since that is one of Wikipedia's criteria for allowing fair use images. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Flora red 1965.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Flora red 1965.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 13:30, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

I wouldn't ordinarily respond to a "bot", but this is just to document: I uploaded a new, better, cropped version of this image and placed it in the article of the musical "Flora the Red Menace". Therrefore, this older image is ok to delete.JeanColumbia 13:58, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

Not responding to Bot, just for documentation--I uploaded a new, cropped version of this image so deletion of the old one is ok.JeanColumbia 14:50, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

Fair use disputed for Image:Pipe Dream 1955.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Pipe Dream 1955.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:19, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

Sondheim

Hello, Jean. Do you know of any site that has a free image of Sondheim? We really need one, as the fair use one (perfectly legal, by the way) has been removed by the "Wiki policy enforcers." It seems to me to be a wrongheaded policy (that photos of living people will not be used on WP under the fair use doctrine), but it doesn't appear that there is anything to be done about it. -- Ssilvers 13:46, 19 September 2007 (UTC)

I don't know of such a site for a free image of Mr. Sondheim. I'll keep this in mind, however, in case I come across something. JeanColumbia 18:23, 19 September 2007 (UTC)

Merrily We Roll Along

As I was working on the play article yesterday, I came across two links that looked useful for the musical and added them to the musical's article. Do you have any time to look at them and add any relevant info to the background/history section of the musical? Best regards, -- Ssilvers 01:45, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

This article (Merrily the musical) could be made more informative by including some of the material from the 2 references that Ssilvers added (there is also some very interesting material on the Signature theatre site (they are doing Merrily now). The article could also be improved, in my opinion, by a bit of re-arranging, plus a nice plot synopsis. All of which I would love to do (I love working on the Sondheim articles), but...I am not able to spend the time required with the care and thoughtfulness I want to give to this until mid-October. Also, it might be a good idea to wait until the current request for deletion is resolved (by my very rough count that would be no earlier than Sept. 22) I would not want to put in the time and effort just to have the entire thing deleted. Answering bot: I had previously included the specific use statement, for the 1957 Cinderella article, but have this date added that date (1957) to another part of the fair use statement and also bolded (perhaps the bot somehow overlooked the original and (I thought) proper statement).JeanColumbia 21:48, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

edited the image to inclde source, also extensive fair use image, noting that there are 2 images used in the one article (which may have confused the issue).JeanColumbia 23:10, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
