It sounds like you are looking to create an article in a sandbox. That is a excellent idea. At the very top of this page you will see some links. One of them will say "my sandbox". You can click on that (or this link User:Fionarose12/sandbox) and your very own sandbox will be created. You can edit as much as you like in this and then when it is ready to publish either move it or copy and paste it into the appropriate title.
