I have sent you a note about a page you started

edit

Hello, Khunou S. Thank you for your work on Pathso. User:Ingratis, while examining this page as a part of our page curation process, had the following comments:

Thank you for this article, which I have accepted. However, two of the references - villageinformation and hubpages - besides being inaccessible to me are unfortunately counted as unreliable sources. I've left them in for now to give you a chance to find better ones for the information they are supporting but they will have to be removed, and this will probably happen soon.

To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Ingratis}}. Please remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. (Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)

I've added a couple more references. I also have a question: in what language are the names of the seasons? Ingratis (talk) 08:06, 17 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Sir, its Pathso Khiamniungan Naga. You may refer wiktionary for verification. Indeed i am a native speaker of this Dialect/Language.
Please help me add citation as i am not sure how to do: so that by clicking the word, it will redirect to wiktionary for readers who are not aware. Khunou S (talk) 17:43, 17 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hi - I did not know of this language, so have learnt something. The way to link to the Wiktionary entry is [[wikt:Khiamniungan]], but possibly the link to the Wikipedia article might be more informative? I added "lang" tags to the season names so that they display the name of the language, in the hope that that might be useful. Ingratis (talk) 11:31, 18 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thankyou so much for you help Sir. Khunou S (talk) 13:15, 18 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

edit

To explain some of my edits, in the expectation that you will probably be producing more of this sort of article: (a) see here for more on unreliable Indian sources. You'll see that it includes census2011.co.in . Census returns are acceptable sources but the official government returns are required (as substituted). (b) Articles on places are governed by WP:GEOLAND. At the moment, to meet the notability criteria a place (at a minimum) needs to be "populated [and] legally recognized", which is a purely US definition. The relevant official census return deals with the "legally recognized" but is not enough by itself (census tracts are specifically excluded, as in some countries these are arbitrary areas without proper settlements as such). A further source is required to demonstrate a populated settlement, which some other government or official publication or major newspaper article will provide. Also a minimum of three refs is now expected so one other of the same sort is needed. I hope that is helpful. Best wishes, Ingratis (talk) 12:43, 17 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Tsoukum, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Mithun. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Hello Khunou S! Your additions to Draft:Khautsausie have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 14:25, 24 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm 2601:5CC:8300:A7F0:299B:4AB:ACA4:28AA. I noticed that you recently removed all content from a page. Please do not do this. Blank pages are harmful to Wikipedia because they have a tendency to confuse readers. As a rule, if you discover a duplicate article, please redirect it to an appropriate existing page. If a page has been vandalised, please revert it to the last legitimate version. If you feel that the content of a page is inappropriate, please edit the page and replace it with appropriate content. If you believe there is no hope for the page, please see the deletion policy for how to proceed. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you wish to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. 2601:5CC:8300:A7F0:299B:4AB:ACA4:28AA (talk) 03:10, 18 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

I was trying to create an article on Miu rather than MIU. How can I resolved this? Khunou S (talk) 03:24, 18 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Start a draft using WP:AFC. Once a reviewer has accepted the page they will take care of any disambiguation, however hijacking existing pages is prohibited. 2601:5CC:8300:A7F0:299B:4AB:ACA4:28AA (talk) 03:26, 18 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Okay. Thank you so much for your clarification. I've learned a lot. Khunou S (talk) 03:29, 18 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Longsheu king moved to draftspace

edit

Thanks for your contributions to Longsheu king. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it has no sources. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. ✠ SunDawn ✠ (contact) 17:00, 19 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

To be honest, there is limited source for this article. I know the details about the place but due to lack written records, I can not provide authentic references at the moment. But this can be improved in the days to come. Khunou S (talk) 17:04, 19 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Khaunie

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Khaunie, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Thanks. I thought adding <blockquote> is meant for exactly incorporating in the article from the source book. I can add it my own words later. ExfactoLexander (talk) 09:53, 16 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
You can use quotes to quote a small passage where needed, not to lift large amounts of text from a source. It would need to be in your own words before adding it to Wikipedia. CoconutOctopus talk 10:02, 16 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
