Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, as you did to the article Doner kebab, please cite a reliable source for your addition. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. See Wikipedia:Citing sources for how to cite sources, and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Redirect blanking

edit

Hi, if you have an issue with a redirect, please take it to Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion rather than blank the page as you did with Maíz morado. Thanks! -- KTC (talk) 11:10, 12 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Maiz Morado already exists, I'm not sure why there are two of them, one with a redirect and one without.Editfromwithout (talk) 16:37, 12 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Peruvian Spanish

edit

Thank you for your recent contributions, but please make sure that you do not replicate content. We already have many articles on the Spanish language, its Worldwide variations and its local dialects. Your article has been replaced by a redirect to an appropriate article. Please do some research before creating new articles. It will help everyone: the articles you create will be valuable and will stay. Fly by Night (talk) 22:23, 15 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

I did do research and it is not duplicated content. To explicitly explain the details of a certain dialect (particular to a country) is much to broad of an article to put into "Spanish dialects and varieties". There is already an article on "Coastal Peruvian Spanish" and I was translating the version of the article from Spanish (a request of the South America WikiProjects).
I am going to reintroduce my translation in progress. If you still feel it is an inappropriate article, kindly show me where I may contest it or at least receive further feedback. Thank you.Editfromwithout (talk) 22:30, 15 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

I look forward to seeing you changing this poorly written, poorly sourced "article" into something that is worthy of storage space. As it stands the article contains little more than one might find in any good dictionary. As a result, it may be nominated for deletion on the ground that Wikipedia is not a dictionary. Petre Sbarcea

edit

This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Petre Sbarcea, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.filarmonicasibiu.ro/en/dirijori.htm.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) MadmanBot (talk) 04:08, 18 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi. In your recent article edits, you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Speedy deletion nomination of Petre Sbarcea

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Petre Sbarcea requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. QU TalkQu 21:24, 30 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Barrow Haven

edit

I have reverted your wikilink to England in this article under WP:OVERLINK guidelines - second note. Countries that English Wikipedia readers would reasonably be expected to understand, such as Pakistan, USA, England, Libya, Peru, etc don't need to be linked, although linking regions within these countries would normally be acceptable. Although linking is useful for reader experience, over-linking can disturb reading flow, as a reader could link-through and find something that is a bit obvious. It's a matter of judgement, but it's best not to link major countries. Cheers. Acabashi (talk) 22:18, 30 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

East Woodhay

edit

After some slight copy editing for East Woodhay, I see in the history that you were already doing copy editing, and I see you are a member of the Guild of Copy Editors from your user page, but I do not see participation in the July drive at Wikipedia:WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors/Backlog elimination drives/July 2012. My suggestion to you is that you join the drive and take credit for the East Woodhay copy editing, with 1054 words. Perhaps you have other edits earlier this month. If you total 4,000 words, you get a barnstar. Go ahead and join the drive, and I will see you on the drive page. --DThomsen8 (talk) 12:56, 7 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Please be careful with WP:ENGVAR issues. In British English, quotes appear inside the full stop (period) unless the passage quoted itself includes a full stop. Thanks. -- Necrothesp (talk) 07:57, 23 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
