editUnder "References" put {{Reflist}} this will put the footnotes there - or you can call the section "Footnotes". Put links to other WP pages in a bulleted list under "See also". Links to WP articles in the text should be where it is useful, and adds value - a link that has a reasonable likelihood of being followed and helping if it is. Links to references can be given a name like this (edit this section to see) [1] then re-used like this [1]. Reference where needed, at paragraph level or sentence level or phrase level, if the whole article or section comes form one source then the wording can reflect that (e.g. "According to ..." or the section title, but it shouldn't normally be the case.
To make a bulletd list use * like this
- One item
- Another
A numbered list is with # like so
- first
- second

Red links
editWhen you remove links to nonexisting articles, please make sure they are to topics that should not have articles. In general, red links to nonexisting topics that we should have articles about are a very good thing, as they alert potential authors that there is work to do on some topic. For example, I reverted this edit: The SV Würzburg 05 is (according to de:SV Würzburg 05) Germany's largest swimming club (and one of the most successful water polo clubs), so we should eventually have an article about it. Removing such red links just means it will take more time until people write the article. Happy editing, Kusma (talk) 08:51, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference
editHello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.
On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true
. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false
in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being minor in the usual way.
For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. With the script in place, you can continue with this functionality indefinitely (its use is governed by WP:MINOR). If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.
Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 18:47, 15 March 2011 (UTC)

May 2014 disambig contest: let's do it again!
editGreetings fellow disambiguator! Remember back in February when we made history by clearing the board for the first time ever, for the monthly disambiguation contest? Let's do it again in May! I personally will be aiming to lead the board next month, but for anyone who thinks they can put in a better effort, I will give a $10 Amazon gift card to any editor who scores more disambiguation points in May. Also, I will be setting up a one-day contest later in the month, and will try to set up more prizes and other ways to make this a fun and productive month. Cheers! bd2412 T 18:47, 28 April 2014 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
