editHi Doc, just wanted to let you know i voted for the dzongkha wiki nominations. Thanks for reaching out. (Zoepa (talk) 19:20, 20 July 2023 (UTC))
Hi Doc, and thanks for your message on my talk page. Yes, that is the right way to communicate with other editors. You should, however, "sign" your posts on talk pages by adding our tildes (~ this symbol) at the end. What did you want to get in touch about? You can reply either here or on my talk page. Cheers, Melcous (talk) 23:41, 18 April 2017 (UTC)

Thanks for your reply. I'm doing some research into the 2014 sydney siege page and came across your edits. Is there a way to direct message you? Doctor 17 (talk)
I attended the wikipedia edit-a-thon at Sydney Uni library on March 28 and hope to attend the wikibomb followup on May 4. Is it possible you are involved with either of those? Doctor 17 (talk)
- Hi Doc, no I'm not in Sydney so am not involved in those. In terms of direct messages, if you have an email address connected to your wikipedia account (see WP:ENABLEEMAIL) you can email me using this link Special:EmailUser/Melcous. Cheers, Melcous (talk) 13:31, 22 April 2017 (UTC)
- 2014 Sydney hostage crisis, vaguely remember that one. That was a breaking news article that evolved into an actual article. That was just written organically as it was happening so don't know if anything new can be added to research. Maybe wait for next live event like French elections or UK one. Disasters/attack are most dynamic due to chaos/confusion. Barely remembered that event, honestly. Shhhhwwww!! (talk) 10:42, 26 April 2017 (UTC)
Thanks Shhhhwwww!! for responding. I wanted to talk to you because you created the page. Can I ask if you are in Australia and whether you have created these breaking news kind of events before? The reason this one interests me for research is because I am in Sydney and remember it so clearly. Can i email you?
- Never been to Australia, even in the airport. Yes, mostly breaking news edits. Emails... bit iffy. Can't decide for privacy issues. Have to decide later. Shhhhwwww!! (talk) 11:02, 26 April 2017 (UTC)
I understand about privacy. Can I at least ask what country you were in when you started the page? @User:Doctor 17 setuped the email feature. Now open to questions. Shhhhwwww!! (talk) 21:48, 26 April 2017 (UTC)
- You can email the questions. Shhhhwwww!! (talk) 21:38, 28 April 2017 (UTC)
Hello, did not get the email. Where? What? Shhhhwwww!! (talk) 20:12, 3 May 2017 (UTC)

Bhutan and other things....
editOk, you can stick this text {{User WikiProject Bhutan}} on your userpage. The wikiproject discussion page is at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Bhutan. Feel free to drop them a note.
Now, take a look at Wikipedia:Did you know - this is what goes on the bottom left corner of the front page and attracts some interest. I've done loads of these. I'll see what Bhutan-related fauna or flora I can expand. Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 22:51, 13 January 2018 (UTC)
- thanks Cas, much appreciated. Doctor 17 (talk) 00:29, 14 January 2018 (UTC)
- PS: the wiki-etiquette way to make replies more readable is to indent as I just did to your post. Did you take photos while there? If so, uploading them to commons would be really cool...Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 20:25, 14 January 2018 (UTC)
- will do, on both counts. Doctor 17 (talk) 00:09, 15 January 2018 (UTC)

DYK nomination of Membartsho
editHello! Your submission of Membartsho at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and some issues with it may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! Sydney meetup
editHi Doctor 17. I'm contacting you because I understand you attended the most recent Sydney meetup in January. I'm a Wikimedian from Perth, and a member of the Perth meetup group. I will be visiting Sydney on the weekend of 26-27 May, and I'm interested in organising a meetup. Are you available to attend? I'm assuming that the preferred time would be the Saturday evening (26 May), but I could also make it earlier in the day, or on the Sunday during the day. If there's enough interest, I'll create a new page and ping a few other Sydney-based editors. Bahnfrend (talk) 12:44, 10 May 2018 (UTC)
- sounds great. I"M in. :)
DYK for Membartsho
editOn 15 May 2018, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Membartsho, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that enlightened individuals can supposedly see a temple at the bottom of the Burning Lake (pictured) in Bhutan? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Membartsho. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Membartsho), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
Response about wikiproject Bhutan
editHi Doctor 17, Sorry for responding late I saw your question on my talk page now (I am basically retired now). I was active in the beginning days of the wikiproject, as far as the wikiproject in its current state it is inactive as you might have noticed. But some members are still active on Wikipedia if you look at each person in the member list some still are maintaining Bhutanese articles (looks like superkirby and Chris flynn are the last, Impro is active but on Russian Wikipedia). Unfortunately that is the current state of the Wikiproject but seeing as you already have a DYK you seem to be doing well without it. Spongie555 (talk) 08:18, 23 May 2018 (UTC)

Deletion discussion about Bhutan Media Foundation
editHello, Doctor 17, and welcome to Wikipedia. I edit here too, under the username CNMall41, and I thank you for your contributions.
I wanted to let you know, however, that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Bhutan Media Foundation, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Bhutan Media Foundation.
You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.
If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|CNMall41}}
. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~
. Thanks!

Hello! I've decided to give you this gift after finding out about your article for The Saturday Paper: what you've done to help that group of Bhutanese nuns share their culture through Wikipedia is incredibly inspiring. Well done! Oltrepier (talk) 08:31, 5 December 2023 (UTC) |

Hello
editHello, Doc! So sorry for not able to respond to your emails. Been too busy with study😕. And, I am sad that I missed the opportunity to discuss a thing or two at Royal Thimphu College when you held a presentation there since I was one of the students of that college due to exam schedule. Would definitely look forward to working with you in the future and thank you for your presentation of Bhutan.🙂 Happy Editing! ☆LightMe - Talk 14:48, 18 December 2023 (UTC)
