Speedy deletion nomination of Society of Hospital Medicine
editA tag has been placed on Society of Hospital Medicine, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.
If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}}
on the top of Society of Hospital Medicine and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 02:35, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

editAs reviewing administrator I think the article can be rescued, and I set about doing so. It needs to be written like an encyclopedia article, not a press release--don't praise yourself, say what you do. And, do not copy from a web site -- first it's a copyright violation, but, even if you give us permission, the tone with not be encyclopedic and the material will not be suitable. Don't use "our" -- this is not your promotional medium. You don't own the article. This a general encyclopedia written by the community, and should sound like an encyclopedia. Write concisely, with a minimum of adjectives praising the work you do. For further information see our FAQ about business, organisations, and articles like this.DGG (talk) 04:56, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
Re: Re: Society of Hospital Medicine
editAs a new page patroller, I see many articles in dire need of cleanup. Very few writers care enough to fix their articles. I thank you for writing and working on the article. The more sources the better, and if you edit the article, triple-check to make sure it is not promotional. I think that the article has come a long way. Keep editing, and feel free to ask someone with some expertise on the subject to review the article. Feel free to write on my talk page if you need any more help.
