Using template messages

edit

Hello. Regarding the recent revert you made: you may already know about them, but you might find Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace useful. After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the sandbox. They can also be used to give a stern warning to a vandal when they've been previously warned. Thank you. —Aranya (talk) 22:46, 23 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Notice of edit warring noticeboard discussion

edit

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion involving you at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring regarding a possible violation of Wikipedia's policy on edit warring. Thank you. 146.90.39.236 (talk) 12:23, 24 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Can you explain what did I do? I was reverting edits that are not necessary, and you act in an unprofessional manner by immediately deleting my request for a comment from you. May you please explain, why? creativeRajat@lk 12:26, 24 August 2019 (UTC)

I left summaries for every single one of my edits. It's clear you are not a native speaker of English. Are you capable of reading it and comprehending it? 146.90.39.236 (talk) 12:38, 24 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Have you seen my cat's memorial? I live in Wisconsin, and I was born here. I just think that such a drastic overhaul is really strange to see from someone with no past edits. creativeRajat@lk 12:40, 24 August 2019 (UTC)

Then you must have learned English from foreigners because your phrasing is totally unidiomatic, and you clearly could not comprehend the massive problems in the text that I fixed. You should undo your most recent revert. You need to explain exactly, with reference to policies and guidelines, why you reverted my work to make the article worse. 146.90.39.236 (talk) 12:48, 24 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
And why are you using <blockquote> tags? Haven't you bothered to look at what everybody else does when they reply to something? 146.90.39.236 (talk) 12:50, 24 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
I'm truly sorry, and that's just American phrasing. You wouldn't know, as currently you are in Finchley within the UK. That's fine then. I'll undo my last edit. Just next time, actually try to explain what are you trying to do in the article talk page, or explain when I clearly ask you in your talk page. creativeRajat@lk 12:53, 24 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • I would encourage you to use the word 'vandalism' carefully. Vandalism is a deliberate effort to deface an article; edit summaries in this case indicate that the editor had what they consider to be a good reason for their changes(I don't know if it is or not) so it isn't 'vandalism'- and as you can see, they don't appreciate that characterization of their edits(though it is not a personal attack). Thanks 331dot (talk) 13:00, 24 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
It is a personal attack to call somebody a vandal without cause. Do not ever start by falsely accusing somebody of vandalism, if you want to have a productive conversation with them. 146.90.39.236 (talk) 13:30, 24 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
Can you please put it to rest? creativeRajat@lk 13:31, 24 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
(ec) That's not what happened, and this persistence is bordering on harassment of this user. I would suggest that, if you do not wish to discuss the edits in question with this user, that you move on. 331dot (talk) 13:32, 24 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • So it looks like that IP user was evading a block or otherwise using multiple accounts or IPs inappropriately, which I sort of suspected given their familiarity with Wikipedia guidelines. However, I would still encourage you to heed my suggestion above. Thanks 331dot (talk) 14:24, 24 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

KaiStore moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, KaiStore, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Block message:

Autoblocked because your IP address was recently used by "Notacreativename34". The reason given for Notacreativename34's block is: "Vandalism-only account".

Decline reason: User is not currently affected by the autoblock. Yamla (talk) 14:07, 13 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

If you can edit your userpage, the autoblock should no longer be affecting you. I would also gently note that Wikipedia is not for memorializing our pets or loved ones. 331dot (talk) 14:03, 13 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Draft:KaiStore concern

edit

Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:KaiStore, a page you created, has not been edited in 5 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 01:27, 26 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to our WikiProject

edit

Hi CreatingCat. I am the Lead Coordinator at Wikipedia:WikiProject History. I saw that you joined our WikiProject as a member recently. I would like to thank you for joining. Welcome!!

If I may, I would like to ask for your assistance. We are requesting input and assistance from all new members; our main reason for doing so is that this project has been semi-inactive for quite some time, and we are trying to get it to be fully active.

On that note, might you be able to go to the section below, and provide a brief introductory comment? you can feel free to let us know what type of items, topics, or articles you'd like to work on; or else, which areas of history you are most interested in; or else, you can simply say hello.

I hope that's okay? We would welcome any insights or input that you might like to share. We are going through a crucial period of reinstatement for WikiProject History at the current time, so right now, we are asking for "All hands on deck." You are welcome to add your comments at our talk page; or alternately, you can reply to me here if that is easier. We welcome any comments that you may have. Thanks for joining!! --Sm8900 (talk) 04:56, 29 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Your draft article, Draft:KaiStore

edit

Hello, CreatingCat. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "KaiStore".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! Lapablo (talk) 09:25, 25 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Problem with your custom signature

edit

Hello, I'm sending you this note because you need to update your signature. You have a custom signature set in your account preferences. Your signature does not link to your account. This is usually because your account has been renamed.

To fix your signature, you need to find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences and either blank it or change the link to your current account name. More information is available at Wikipedia:Signatures#Customizing how everyone sees your signature. mw:New requirements for user signatures/Help#Wrong user links. If you have followed these instructions and still want help, please leave a message at Wikipedia talk:Signatures.
