Probable mistake
editI suspect there has been a confusion with the above messages. I have sent a message to Panoptical, to say that you are welcome to edit the subpages of User:Duae Quartunciae/W. Kehler. The revert that Panoptical applied was probably a mistake. For what it is worth, however, when you are adding comments to the page I set up, try to avoid adding comments to the sections that are intended for other people to express their position on some point. It's not a talk page.

An apology
editI'm sorry that I reverted your edits; they were to a sub-page of another user and I did not look at the fact that you two were having a somewhat lengthy discussion. However, it would help if you could be more civil in the message that you left on my talk page and not "scream" using all caps. Thank you, and once again, I'm sorry. Putting material in a box
editHi DeepBlueDiamond,
I see you are sometimes wanting to format text so that it appears inside a box. You are doing this by leaving a bit of white space at the start of a line.
This does put it in a box, but it also prevents all justification of the text, meaning that it becomes very hard for other people to read. Jim Jastrzebski has commented in discussion page for ..../Issues#Sectioning that he was finding it hard to read text that extended past the right hand side of the page. This is because of the boxes added using the leading white space technique.
There are much better ways to put stuff in a box. Compare the following:
This box is made with a leading space. The font is alterated, and there is no justification applied. It will result in a very long line extending off the past the right hand side of the page, where you can't see the end.
There are lots of other ways to format tables and boxes; but the Messagebox is one of the simplest. You should use them carefully. I tend to use boxes more than I should; too many on a page merely become distracting. Still, if you need a box, try using the Messagebox as a simple method. You enter your text as follows:
{{Messagebox|PUT YOUR TEXT HERE}}

- YOU ARE RIGHT, it would be better! But I won't correct it because you cannot understand of course our basic problem: In our old German PC there is not found the here needed English "|". This is a little problem only, but please try to write the German letters ä,ö,ü,ß to understand how it takes much time (here to take each of such "letters" from above) ok? - Try typing "AltGr + <". This works on some German keyboards. If this works, then you have no problem.
- Otherwise, you can still get the character as a button in the tools of your edit window. I do this myself, for a couple of other buttons I find useful. The method is described at User:MarkS/Extra_edit_buttons. In order to get the pipe character, follow the instructions for an " Easy install", but include "TC" as one of the buttons. This gives the pipe character as a one click button. Here are the steps.
- (1) Copy the following four lines into your clipboard
XEBOrder='TC'; rmEditButtons=[]; myButtons=[]; importScript('User:MarkS/extraeditbuttons.js');
- (2) Create User:DeepBlueDiamond/monobook.js (Just click on the link to do this).
- (3) Paste the four lines from your clipboard into your "monobook.js" page
- (4) Save
- (5) Refresh your browser, by clicking the refresh button.
- The next time you edit a page, you should see a little button, , as a part of your edit toolbar. Click on this to get the pipe character.

- Thanks! On my 2 y.o. Lap I have seen "|" and can use it, but not on the nearly 8 y.o. PC we got gratis for our club and our club has risigned. We have decided that our club not acts anymore. Of course anyone can do what he wants for himself. Don't worry, I myself could always search it in WIKI-MARKUPS below if I need it, but it wastes time, destroying thoughts and is not perfect because here I see it very small. Since last week I have to work a bit far away and will have only a few time, perhabs on weekend. But I prefer to play with my baby. DeepBlueDiamond 11:40, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
- Best of good fortune and good health with your little one. You are quite right to give that first priority; and indeed I envy you. Cheers —Duae Quartunciae (talk · cont) 11:52, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
