It is interesting how you know the difference between a peak position and the current position, yet you have interested a new link which clearly does not indicate the peak position ("-" is placed). I did not revert the edit because the peak position is not clearly shown in any of the links. Olivewildes (talk) 3:07, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

Hello! I don't know if you remember me, but I'm pretty sure I once gave you a barnstar for the Ashley Tisdale-related work. I saw that you got her discography to FL status, and I have no experience in those sorts of articles, though I'm interested in making Natalia Kills discography an FL. Could you give me some tips about the lead prose, the list itself and other stuff so I won't fail miserably? Thank you! prism 19:35, 19 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hey! I really don't remember you but I can surely help you with that. The first thing you should do is take a look in another featured lists and see what they look like. You're going to base your work on that. About the lead: you have to write not more than two paragraphs (because the list is pretty short) about Kill's musical career, her main releases and other notable things. Tisdale has a small list as well as well so I advise you to take a look!
Another thing you have to rework is the references. You need to add dates, publishers, work, writers, name of the article - not only the source. Again, I advise you to take a look in another featured articles and see how you deal with the references. If you have problems with them, let me know and I will help you.
I also recommend you to add more sources in the article. For instance, source the release dates of the albums and don't forget to add the country it was released that date. For example, her debut album was released in March 15, 2011. Where was it released at that day? Worldwide? US only? Just put the country in brackets, e.g. (US), after the release date and don't forget to source it! Don't forget to source the EP as well - it's important because it didn't chart anywhere so you gotta need to prove it really exists!
Other than that, there are minor stuff to change. For instance, in the singles as main artist table, it says: "List of songs with guest appearances by Natalia Kills" - her releases as main artist are not guest appearances. You also need to source Ireland in the singles as featured artist table. Don't forget to source the guest appearances as well and merge the two sections listing guest appearances into one table and one section.
I really hope that helps you! Anything you need, just let me know :) Decodet (talk) 23:18, 19 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
Hello, could you please check if it's up to standards now? Thank you! prism 20:58, 24 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
It looks great to me, I think it's ready for a promotion! However, if I were you, I would source "You Can't Get In My Head" because it didn't chart anywhere and there's no article for it. I would also source the guest appeareances. Amazing job!! :D Decodet (talk) 00:31, 25 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
Done and done! Feel free to check the nomination page. prism 11:39, 25 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
I just checked it! There's always going to have an issue to fix in the article but keep doing what you doing (fixing what they want to be fixed) and the nomination might be successful! :) Decodet (talk) 15:21, 25 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Better source request for some of your uploads

edit

Thanks for your uploads to Wikipedia. There is an issue with some of them, specifically:

You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the images because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact Web page where you found the images, rather than only giving the source domain or the URL of the image files themselves. Please update the image descriptions with URLs that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page or me at my talk page. Thank you. Message delivered by Theo's Little Bot (opt-out) 03:12, 31 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

See You Again

edit

I don't disagree, but I have looked and looked for a source for a 2007 release date for "See You Again" and have come up empty handed. The only evidence there is of it possibly being released before it's summer 2008 date is that it charted months before that, but then again, songs don't have to be released as a single to chart. — Status (talk · contribs) 13:35, 20 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

I'll look it up and see if I find anything. By the way, there are a LOT of false certifications in that article! I'm taking a look at it right now. decodet. (talk) 13:39, 20 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
Yeah... I was sort of wondering where they came from. There are also a lot of certification added that don't match the countries defined in the article. I haven't checked the authenticity of any. — Status (talk · contribs) 13:40, 20 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
I've found this, this and this. What do you think? decodet. (talk) 15:12, 20 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
This is definitely usable. "Released: 2007" If all we can get is the year it was released, I guess it's fine to use that. — Status (talk · contribs) 01:39, 21 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Problem with 4x4 Miley Cyrus.

edit

See, I added 4x4 as new single with the official reference (Martel & Billboard), and now I deleted the edition, did not see the link Diane Martel has confirmed that direct the video!? BILLBOARD FONT IS GOD! where is the problem? is obvious that is the new single for months already rumored, now this confirmadísimo, please undo those issues.--SergiSmiler (talk) 13:50, 4 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hey @SergiSmiler! Yes, Billboard is an excelent source. However you need to add the link because the single didn't chart yet, and has not been released yet. If you could please provide me the source where it is "confirmadíssimo" (haha) I can add 4x4 to the table again! About the video, just because she shot a music video it doesn't mean it is a single. Beyoncé shot music videos for all of the songs in her latest albums, but not all of them are singles. decodet. (talk) 14:15, 4 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for answering Decodet.. This is the link: http://www.billboard.com/articles/news/6143268/bangerz-creative-director-miley-cyrus-tv-show-diane-martel .Although you're right ... now that I looked closely, not specific to be the new single, but it is something that already presupposes ... obviously, but hey, whatever you do, I understand. Thanks for answering.--SergiSmiler (talk) 15:14, 4 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
I believe it is indeed the next single, SergiSmiler. However, the source only claims Diane Martel is directing a video for 4x4, so we're just assuming it is the next single, but unfortunately we can't add stuff on Wikipedia based on what is logical or what we assume. We need reliable sources to confirm every claim, otherwise we can't put it there. See my point? If 4x4 is indeed the next single, we might be getting a confirmation really soon, let's just waita little bit! :) decodet. (talk) 02:21, 5 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Ain't It Fun certification

edit

Thanks for trying to keep the paramore discography page 'clean' but I truly do not understand how Rolling Stone is not a reliable source in regards to the article clearly pointing out that it has gone platinum in the US...There's been plenty of other sources as well that have that news piece. RIAA takes way too long to update their database. 'Still Into You' went platinum last year and they only updated that 2 weeks ago. I understand again, you are trying to keep the page clean but sometimes it has to be a secondary source that gets used. Thanks for your work otherwise! Ramres1 (talk) 02:37, 11 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for contacting me Ramres1. I am aware that Ain't It Fun has gone Platinum in the US and Gold in Canada. However, here on Wikipedia, we have to wait until RIAA updates their database. Music magazines such as Rolling Stones often claims some single has gone Platinum just because it sold a million copies in the USA but the certification itself is only given when the label buys it. There's a difference, you see. That's Wikipedia point of view so unfortunately we have to wait until the official certificators update their database, which should be really soon! decodet. (talk) 03:33, 11 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
By the way - Twitter can never be used as a reference on Wikipedia since it's not a reliable source! decodet. (talk) 03:35, 11 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

FAC coordinator Ian Rose has some commentary you should look at. Snuggums (talk / edits) 05:37, 23 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, SNUGGUMS. However I'm not sure if I understood what he meant with "close paraphrasing". What would that be? English is not my birth language so sometimes I don't understand specific stuff like that. Thanks!! decodet. (talk) 09:11, 23 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
Simply put, it is where you only slightly modify words from a source and crediting it all as your own. See more at WP:Close paraphrasing. Snuggums (talk / edits) 16:32, 23 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
Oh, I see! I don't think there is any in the article, though. I've always tried to avoid doing that even though I just found out that is named "close paraphrasing". decodet. (talk) 18:13, 23 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
For some reason, I have (I think?) only just now become aware of Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Ashley Tisdale/archive4, and have now added it to my watchlist. I might have been overseas when it was nominated, maybe that's it.
My interpretation of the FAC coordinator's comments is that a close paraphrasing check is done on all candidate articles; and no reviewer has explicitly mentioned that they did one on this article; so the FAC coordinator would like to see one; but they expected that Retrohead might provide one when Retrohead finishes reviewing. It now seems Retrohead won't be able to do accuracy/close paraphrasing spotchecks, so maybe we need to look for someone to do that. --Demiurge1000 (talk) 20:01, 23 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
Hey Demiurge, it's been a while! Thanks for commenting. So how can I look for someone to do those spotchecks? I guess that's the only one step left for this article to finally receive that golden star. decodet. (talk) 20:56, 23 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
Decodet, I'm very sorry to see this fail at FAC again :(. Turns out spotcheck was the deal breaker here. I am more than happy to help with reference checking before renomination, though. Another peer review definitely wouldn't hurt. Snuggums (talk / edits) 07:54, 26 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
I agree with Snuggums. Give me a call if attempting another run at FAC, I'll be more than happy to assist.--Retrohead (talk) 12:57, 26 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
Snuggums and Retrohead, I appreacite how much you guys helped me. The article has developed a lot in the past few months and I'm proud of it. However, I guess I'll take some time off. I've been working on this article since 2008/2009. I've been successful on promoting discographies and lists, but perhaps a biography is just too much for a user who doesn't even have English as his birth language to deal with by himself. And I'm beginning to have less and less time to spend on Wikipedia. Maybe I'll try again next year and in the meantime I'll still try to take care of the article. If I ever decide to attempt for the fifth time, I'll contact you two again. Thanks in advance though. And thanks for all the rest! decodet. (talk) 18:50, 26 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:17, 4 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:44, 23 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages.
