Happy Independence Day!

edit

As you are a nice Wikipedian, I just wanted to wish you a happy Independence Day! And if you are not an American, then have a happy day and a wonderful weekend anyway!  :) Your friend and colleague, --Happy Independence Day! Le Grand Roi des CitrouillesTally-ho! 21:31, 4 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Persistent vandalism

edit

Hi, I'm a member of WP:FACT & a RCP in English Wikipedia. I would greatly appreciate if u could help to look at this case, as the article (previous version) is currently being degraded into a non-referenced, POV, self-promoting article now. Kindly note that the anon (using StarHub IP 59.189.40.xxx on 21 occasions) refuses to declare his association with the article, nor show any intention to openly discuss the issues concerned with the primary contributor or on the article talkpage when advised to do so earlier, but instead reverted good faiths edits with impunity despite repeated warnings since June 29 [1]. Please semi-protect the article and blocked the relevant IPs so that the integrity of Wikipedia & the works of bona fide contributors, are not compromised by such folks in future. Thanks! -- Aldwinteo (talk) 04:38, 8 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

WP:HAU, Status, and you!

edit

As you may know, the StatusBot responsible for maintaining the status of the Highly Active Users was taken offline. We now have a replacement in the Qui status system. This semi-automatic system will allow you to easily update your status page found at Special:Mypage/Status which the HAU page code is now designed to read from. If you are already using Qui (or a compatible system) - great! - no action is needed (other than remembering to update your status as necessary). If not, consider installing Qui. You can also manually update this status by changing the page text to online, offline, or busy. While it is not mandatory, the nature of HAU is that people are often seeking a quick answer from someone who is online and keeping our statuses up-to-date will assist with this. Note if you were previously using your /Status page as something other than a one-word status indicator, your HAU entry may have been set to "status=n" to correct display issues. Please clear this parameter if you change things to be "HAU compatible". Further questions can be raised at WT:HAU. This message was delivered by xenobot 23:12, 8 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

AWB recursive cat

edit

Hi there. Can you make a new list of recursive subcats of Category:Vietnam for me? I've fixed the innapropriate categorisation that someone else did that generated all the excessive stuff from last time. Blnguyen (bananabucket) 03:05, 15 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

I'll try to get it done by tomorrow. Sorry about the delay, but I was away with real life for the past few days. —Dark talk 11:53, 20 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks again. I found out where all the rubbish cats were coming from. A cat about the South China Sea was in geography of VN, and then all the countries on teh sea were cats of the Sea, so thus all of Asia became part of VN....Blnguyen (bananabucket) 07:54, 23 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Help

edit

Hi, I have been having problems with editing one of the articles. I have been trying to edit the University High School (Melbourne) article with relevant information. Yet there is a contributor that seems to add what i would consider irrelevant, a large amount of the information he/she leaves is bias and inappropriate. Eg he/she suggests a principal resigned due to a drugs and sex scandal and things like this person shares their surname with a famous beatle George Harrison. As you are an administrator i though it would be best to ask you if you could look over the information on the article and see if my edits to change this editor's changes are appropriate. I put a note in his/her usertalk explaining the flaws and i hope you can help, it would be greatly appreciated. I think my knowledge as a current student is more reliable than him/her though i can find appropriate sources if needed i just havent been bothered yet. Ps, the editor is "carbonrodney" Thank You Someone111111 (talk) 15:52, 18 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
