I saw your recent comment, and I thought you might be interested in https://www.cdc.gov/ncbddd/childdevelopment/positiveparenting/toddlers2.html "Toddlers (2–3 years)" from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. While this might be a popular name only for kids who are barely 3 years old, rather than the ones who are almost 4 (36 months rather than 47 months), it's not technically wrong. Please use edit summaries to explain your edits, and take care about different varieties of English. I thought your recent edit to Alex Sobel was silly vandalism until I looked at Councillor and saw that "Councilor" is an American spelling. PamD 06:22, 24 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

George Cummings (disambiguation)

edit

Hi Countryboy603, the Manual of Style for disambiguation pages clearly states that the primary topic (the one at the base name 'George Cummings') should go at the top of the page (WP:DABPRIMARY). Furthermore, there is no need for both {{hndis}} and {{disambiguation}} - if the page contains only people with the same name, {{hndis}} is sufficient (the page Human name disambiguation explains). The Problem with A Poo

edit

Hi. Please stop making arbitrary and disruptive edits, as you did with this edit to The Problem with A Poo. The word in question is sentient, not sapient. By changing the wikilink to "sapient", you directed it to a disambiguation page, an indication that you didn't even bother checking that page to see if it was an article.   Stop making non-constructive edits to the article on The Problem with A Poo, as you did with this edit. If you continue to make disruptive edits, you risk being blocked from editing. Please do not make that necessary. Nightscream (talk) 13:26, 20 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Bait-and-switch (trope)

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Bait-and-switch (trope) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BaitAndSwitch and note that TVTropes is under CC-BY-NC-SA. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. dudhhrContribs 19:48, 17 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Your recent editing history at Veganism shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
Use the talk page to gain consensus with at least two other editors, WP:CON. Zefr (talk) 23:04, 14 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Murder of George Floyd Requested Move

edit

I have hatted your informal discussion about the title of Murder of George Floyd. If you believe the article should be renamed, please make a formal WP:RM. But before you make a formal WP:RM, I encourage you to review WP:DEATHS, as well as the previous naming discussions on that article in the archives:

Article was unanimously moved to "Murder of George Floyd" per WP:DEATHS
An editor tried to reopen the discussion to revert the decision made by a consensus less than a month later, with no new information. Four editors immediately objected to another discussion so soon after the last one was closed. RM was closed, and a 6-month moratorium was issued on moving the article.
An editor violated the moratorium and tried to move the discussion again in June. Discussion was immediately closed.
An editor violated the moratorium and tried to move the discussion again in September. Discussion was immediately closed.
An editor violated the moratorium and tried to move the discussion again in November. Discussion was immediately closed.

The moratorium is over. By all means, try again, but this is a waste of your time and everyone else's. Derek Chauvin was convicted for the Murder of George Floyd. It is clear-cut Wikipedia policy to name the article "Murder of..." per WP:DEATHS — a policy which was created in the wake of this specific incident. This has been rehashed and rehashed four times now. A fifth time will not change the outcome. Combefere Talk 05:48, 19 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution

edit

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Veganism into Draft:Vegan diet. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. An article you recently created, Thandi (rhino), is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia).
