Can you help?
editHi there. I see you're very experienced with disambiguations. I don't know much about dealing with them and I'm hoping you can help. Today I created the article "three-way bridge". The article discusses both "T-bridges" and "Y-Bridges".
I also noticed a disambiguation page called "Y-Bridge". I'd like to let anyone who arrives at the "Y-Bridge" disambiguation page know about the article I created, because that may be what they're looking for. Do I add a hatnote? I don't think adding the article I wrote to a "see also" is the way. Any help you can give would be appreciated. Thanks! Magnolia677 (talk) 22:40, 23 January 2014 (UTC)

May 2014 disambig contest: let's do it again!
editGreetings fellow disambiguator! Remember back in February when we made history by clearing the board for the first time ever, for the monthly disambiguation contest? Let's do it again in May! I personally will be aiming to lead the board next month, but for anyone who thinks they can put in a better effort, I will give a $10 Amazon gift card to any editor who scores more disambiguation points in May. Also, I will be setting up a one-day contest later in the month, and will try to set up more prizes and other ways to make this a fun and productive month. Cheers! bd2412 T 18:47, 28 April 2014 (UTC)
Your disambiguation edit on article "Cities and towns during the Syrian Civil War"
editHi ColRad85. I ask you to revert your edit on article Cities and towns during the Syrian Civil War. "Disambiguating" an "anchor" template (as you did with {{anchor|Douma}} and {{anchor|Nawa}}) is not appropriate. The name in the "anchor" template is not a wikilink. It is just the name of the anchor and allows a link on a "calling" page to point to an anchor on the "target" page. The name has to be the same on the "calling" page and on the target page otherwise, the linking will be broken and not work anymore. So if you change the name of an anchor on a target page (as you did), you need to also change it on the calling page. However, since the anchor name is not a wikilink, it does not need to be disambiguated since it can be any name the programmer chooses. In this case, it is just a coincidence that it is the name of a disambiguation article on Wikipedia. Tradediatalk 01:24, 24 November 2014 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. The move has now been performed so I have changed the links back. Sorry for all the hassle. Regards, AtHomeIn神戸 (talk) 02:05, 8 December 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for the interest
editHi ColRad,
thanks for the interest in the Ngaiire page. I'm curious as to why you did remove the link that you did. I'm still quite new at this, so i'd appreciate the instruction. (I had assumed that more cross-linking was better)
anyway, thanks for wanting to help Werafa
Werafa (talk) 02:05, 18 January 2016 (UTC)
Hi Werafa,
I try to help edit disambiguated links on wiki pages, and Ngaiire’s page was featured on the monthly clean up list. I made the edit because I thought it was a double up of the name Ngaire, especially the link for the pronunciation Ny-ree. But after rechecking the original link to the Ngaire, I’ve undone my edit. It probably shouldn’t be on the disambiguation list. I agree with you that cross linking helps build a wiki article and it’s good to see new people getting involved with improving wiki pages! :-)
Thanks ColRad, It is interesting to see how many layers of organisation that wikipedia has - and the different ways that contributors are involved

Thanks for your disambig work
editI wanted to thank you for your disambig work. I know from previous experience that it's not always simple and can be quite repetitive. I'm undoing some of your recent edits because the disambig was caused by a bad move which has since been undone (and a user who didn't bother to move the links when they decided to create a disambig page from an existing page). So, sorry if you see a lot of revert alerts. Thanks, 15zulu (talk) 06:23, 12 April 2016 (UTC)

editHey, i just wanted to let you know that in the context of Japanese railways, "50 series" without any prefixes most likely refers to the 50 series passenger cars originally operated by JNR, not the Kyoto subway train type. Enwiki doesn't have an article for JNR passenger car type (yet), but the Japanese-language wikipedia has one at ja:国鉄50系客車. I've used the interlanguage link JNR 50 series to avoid linking to the disambiguation page on enwiki. Best regards, Nyamo Kurosawa (talk) 16:17, 3 July 2022 (UTC)
