Taking off from what Hakob said (2 years ago!), wouldn't it be best simply to title the page Raffi (author)? Diranakir (talk) 15:53, 23 April 2010 (UTC)

September 2019

edit

Hello, I'm I dream of horses. I noticed that in this edit to Wikipedia:Typo Team/moss/U, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you.  I dream of horses  If you reply here, please ping me by adding {{U|I dream of horses}} to your message  (talk to me) (My edits) @ 04:10, 14 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi I dream of horses, I did leave an edit summary on that page; it says "rm fixed typos", i.e. the items I removed from that list have already been corrected (you thanked me for them). I've seen others use the same edit message previously - was it unclear? We'll need to undo your reversion since putting those items back will cause people to think that those items have not been completed.

USD is united school district, NOT money

edit

Per your edit in Altamont, Kansas... USD is clearly not money in Kansas articles, so please don't use this automated feature to convert united school districts into dollars. • SbmeirowTalk23:29, 17 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi Sbmeirow, thanks for catching that, I apologize. I've updated the article in question to include a {{not a typo}} tag so that the acronym doesn't get flagged by any other bots as an error. Cinnamingirl (talk) 06:23, 18 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
The problem is the bot and tools, because they made the WRONG assumption. This issue exists in hundreds of Kansas articles. • SbmeirowTalk06:34, 19 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
Hi sbmeirowI can understand your frustration, but it's not necessarily wrong - US$ *is* the most likely meaning of USD and many people incorrectly use USD in violation of the MOS, so that's why the bots are programmed that way. I think that there's an abbreviation tag that is more appropriate than {{not a typo}} that we can use to make sure that those instances that refer to the school district don't get changed, but I will have to look into it. If you want to give me a list or a category of pages where this happens, I can look into making sure they are tagged appropriately, and maybe add a note to the Unified School District talk page to make sure future editors don't write articles that will be mistakenly flagged.
