Usurp Rtg

Hi, I see you were going over my request to usurp Rtg and you left a note where to ask for "RTG" (upper case T G) at changing name without the /usurpations. Thing is.. I would need to have "Rtg" to change to "RTG" because the computer says these are too close to accept RTG. So anyway, you also said the user "Rtg" has no email and he has not any edits at all here so appears to be no problem for usurping. I am just following you up in case it was thought that I should go to "changing name" instead because I would need to usurp the lower case Rtg one to make that possible. Also maybe there is a time limit between request and final review but just having a check. Also: I only appear to have edited that request but if you check you will see that any edits before that were IP based. And they were only a very few but this guy doesnt make any edits so I will have it and make very little if that works.

Also if you are switching me to Rtg maybe you can make it RTG to cut the corner for me. Thanks. AreTeeGee (talk) 22:20, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

WJBscribe has changed your name to RTG. You can now login and edit under that account --Chris 21:40, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

Hello "Chris G Bot3".Can you do the statusbot thingy on my userpage? ive got the template but it says "somewhere".So can you ask someone to do the status thing?RogueMad2.. —Preceding comment was added at 05:45, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

Sorry but the bot that would be best suited to you is SoxBot V run by Soxred93. You seem to have the template set up properly so I can't see why it isn't updating your status. You should ask Soxred to see if he can take a look --Chris 10:58, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

Rfb participation thanks

Hello, Chris.

I wanted to personally thank you for taking part in the project-wide discussions regarding my candidacy for bureaucratship. After bureaucratic discussion, the bureaucrats decided that there was sufficient significant and varied opposition to my candidacy, and thus no consensus to promote. Although personally disappointed, I both understand and respect their decision, especially in light of historical conservatism the project has had when selecting its bureaucrats. If you have any further suggestions or comments as to how you think I could help the project, please let me know. Once again, thank you for your support. -- Avi (talk) 18:54, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

Blocked IP address

Dear Chris,

My name is Hilit and I am head internet at BM Soho. It has come to my attention that you have blocked one of our IP addresses and deleted all links to our website recently, and I would like to understand why.

Whilst I do appreciate that spamming - the proposed reason for said block - is prohibited on Wikipedia, I do not see how adding linking to a list of an artist’s releases would be consider as such.

Even more so, artists from whose pages you have removed links to our site (for instance, Noisia) include links to other online music shops (for instance, Beatport) - yet the link to BM Soho, which is no doubt London’s first, most established and most respected cult-status vinyl retailer, has been removed.

I would therefore like to raise this matter, and will appreciate your response. If you wish to discuss this via email, please get in touch with me via hilit@bm-soho.com.

Regards,

Hilit —Preceding unsigned comment added by User163 (talkcontribs) 11:05, 15 May 2008 (UTC)

Please see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. You should wait for someone else to add the links, adding links to your own website is spamming --Chris 12:31, 15 May 2008 (UTC)

Hi Chris

Thanks for taking the time to explain this; whilst you cannot guarantee that the frequent external links to sites such as discogs and beatport are submitted by wikipedia users who are not employees of these companies, I do see your point.

Best

My recent RfA

Thank you for supporting my RfA, which unfortunately didn't succeed. The majority of the opposes stated that I needed more experience in the main namespace and Wikipedia namespace and talk space, so that is what I will do. I have made a list and I hope I will be able to get through it. I will go for another RfA in about three month's time and I hope you will be able to support me then as well. If you have any other comments for me or wish to be notified when I go for another RfA, please leave them on my talk page. If you wish to nominate me for my next RfA, please wait until it has been about three months. I will not be checking back to this page so if you would like to comment or reply please use my talk page. Thanks again for participating in my RfA! ·Add§hore· Talk/Cont 07:00, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

Dummy accounts

Hi, I was browsing the User Creation Log and came across a bunch of accounts you created. What's up with that? KellenT 09:43, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

Its called WP:ACC. As an admin I can create accounts that other users can't --Chris 10:00, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
Ah, interesting! Thanks! KellenT 10:34, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

Canvassing

Chris I have reverted your edits to the noticeboards regarding your BAG nomination. This is considered canvassing and is inappropriate. Please refrain from doing this. « Gonzo fan2007 (talkcontribs) @ 23:13, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

Please see WP:BN --Chris 23:14, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
What am I seeing? All I see is one user telling you to publicize your nomination. I consider this bad advice, as the three noticeboards you spammed have very little to nothing to do with your nom. And what you did is blatant canvassing, could you imagine if someone did this for their RFA? Sorry, but if you do it, then others will, and the noticeboards will become packed with notices that users are running for something. « Gonzo fan2007 (talkcontribs) @ 23:18, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
I'm fairly certain this is standard practice for BAG noms. I know I've seen several notices posted on AN in the past. - auburnpilot talk 23:23, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
It is, just posting to the bn now --Chris 23:26, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
Personally, I have never seen it before, ever. But if it is common practice and I am in error, then please accept my apologies Chris. When I saw it occur, it was canvassing to me. « Gonzo fan2007 (talkcontribs) @ 23:45, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

Disappearance of Hoplitomeryx

Is there a way to restore Hoplitomeryx? It seems to be deleted along with the vandalism page it was redirected to.--Mr Fink (talk) 14:03, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

Mr Fink posted on my talk page as well, so it's done - but any idea what happened here? There's no deletion in the log... Alex Muller 14:10, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
Nup, no idea. --Chris 09:53, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
