Haridasa Thakur question asked

edit

Just a question about NPOV. This article seems to be written from the POV of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness. I am wondering if other Hindus agree with narrative. If so, great. If not, I wonder if more viewpoints can be included in a neutral way. ~chmrjg

Hi chmrjg, All and every possible source is to be used and was used in this article, so views of ISKCON are represented, as well as some other Hindu views. The person is a saint in ISKCON so naturally this POV will be notable. If you have ANY other reliable sources please do not hesitate to add. Some views expressed in the article are not shared by anyone in ISKCON, as for example the Advaita Prakasha book is not quoted in any ISKCON sources. Another important thing to note, Haridasa Thakur would never be called a yavana or mleccha in ISKCON. Please refer to respective sources used and noted in the article. Flags

edit

Hi Chmrjg

I had the business with a lot of others already, so in a short: The flags for nationality are unproblematic most of the time, but they have a really bad influence on some of the article, because theay atracte nationalist idiots to start edit wars on the nationality of certain people. Like Nicolaus Copernicus und Vladimir Prelog so it is best to leave them out. And for scientists the nationality is not a major point anway. A second point is that especially for austrian and german scientists before 1945 the dedication to a nationality with flag is complicated. See Liebig the flag you added is the flag of Germany from 1918 and you should have added the flag of hessia or that of German Empire, for Werner Rolfinck, Volcher Coiter, Vladimir Ipatieff‎ , Hieronymus Fabricius the flags also do not represent the states they lived in and held the nationality. The etnicity or nationality is a minefield! Be carefull not to waste any time to deal with national vandalists, thea are not worth to give them something to play! --Stone (talk) 07:41, 24 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sounds like good advice. Thanks. Chmrjg (talk) 03:09, 25 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Pelope

edit

The article Pelope has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No references are given at all. It turns out that Leoniceno mentions that a Pelope was his praeceptore, without giving any detail at all. I did a search, but absolutely nothing turns up. wrt "Croatian apothecary" that could very well be a mixup with Niccolò Roccabonella, who was a wellknown herbicist who lived and worked in Croatia. Without any references to support what is here we don't know what is real, and what is wrong

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. JdH (talk) 15:27, 25 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
