Image copyright problem with Image:B66saddle22bw.jpg
editThanks for uploading Image:B66saddle22bw.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BigDT 17:27, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

Motorized bicycles
editI am thinking of converting my bike using an electric motor. I do not know the advantages/disadvantages of front vs rear wheel and different suppliers. What are your preferences?CyclePat has already left some information on my talk page. If you can add anything I would appreciate it.—Who123 12:22, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
I have left the following note on the Talk page. Any suggestions? "I have continued with my interest in purchasing a bike or converting my old bike. At this point in time I am thinking about buying a "Giant Suede E electric bike" from NYCEWHEELS. I know that WP is not for advertising but this topic is so obscure that it is hard to find information. You may wish to include Giant and EZ as manufacturers at least. I am not affiliated with any of these companies. I am just trying to find the best bike for me."—Who123 18:22, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
HI ChicByclist,
Good to see someone taking an active interest in Austronesian people. If possible, I'd like to follow the WikiProject Ethnic Groups template for page sections. I put a note on the talk page for the article.I also deleted the "appearance" section, which could be treading on some very arbitrary issues and also runs into the danger of POV problems. Thanks for your help! --Ling.Nut 12:25, 15 September 2006 (UTC)
Iloilo
editThanks for taking the "red pencil" to Iloilo. I'd noticed it needed work but never got around to doing it myself. Good editing. Cheers, -Will Beback 22:48, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
- No problem. Thanks for reminding me that I need to take down some of the POV stuff left in the article. Cheers! --Chicbicyclist 00:00, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
Reply to your comment on my response to peoplestruth
editHello, I just have 2 thingsː
1.) I agree that my discussion on the inflationary impact on raising the minimum wage doesn't belong there. I recently posted it on the wage/price spiral discussion. However, I felt it was very important for everyone else to understand the unavoidable impact it would have on the economy. I hope you sympathize with me because I believe the world would be a lot better a place if everyone was familiar with economics.
2.) Peoplestruth did indeed raise a political issue, but I believe I managed to bring it back to objective analysis thru economics. I didn't say we should or should not raise the minimum wage. I merely highlighted what would happen if we did. This, I believe, is beyond the influence of any ideologues as it deals with forces of the market. While economics cannot completely avoid dealing with moral or philosophical issues it still keeps one foot in the material world. Economists (I think) ask not only what should be, but also what could be with our limited resources (political, capital, labor, institutional, etc.) due to the math training. And this I think is what seperates them from political economics/science graduates.
Anyway, thanks for your time. I only wish for peoplestruth to voice his reaction and we can resolve this issue that should've been resolved when Karl Marx: the close of his system by Eugen von Böhm-Bawerk and Socialism by Ludwig Von Mises was published. Responsiblebum 05:58, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
Malay
editHi Chicbicyclist, you seem to have a misunderstanding about the meaning of the term Malay. If have half a dozen academic papers here describing various uses of the term Malay and none of them support your broad usage it. I can email them to you if you would like to clarify your understanding with some heavy reading. If not, I suggest you take a look a Encyclopedia Briticanna on the web which has a concise definition here [1]. Please do not continue to assert a definition of something on wikipedia without having WP:reliable sources. (Caniago 23:56, 19 January 2007 (UTC))
I have given the page the ole makeover; I think you might like it. Some distribution and ecology data, taxonomy, range map, reshuffled images, add sources, notably on maximum prey size (which happens to include a smallish adult human, but just barely and only in the specimens of say 6 meters and up. Doesn't prevent them from killing people tho). Plus a link documenting the unfortunate fate of one Mr. Lantod from Mindoro, Philippines, info on which was sought on the Talk page but happens to be beyond the digital divide for the most part (and in Tagalog to boot).
- Oh, since you seem to be more knowledgeable about Phil stuff than I am, you might be able to answer this: is the name correctly given as Gumilid Lantod, Gumiliu Lantod, Lantod Gumilid or Lantod Gumiliu? All versions appear possible based on the sources I have seen. Dysmorodrepanis 15:21, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:MH3wii.jpg
editThanks for uploading or contributing to Image:MH3wii.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Nice work
editGood job with the creation of the individual Monster Hunter pages :) I was sort of surprised that it didn't already have its own page actually. JayKeaton 14:38, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (Image:Monsterhuntertrilogo.GIF)
editThanks for uploading Image:Monsterhuntertrilogo.GIF. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 14:47, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
