Hi Storchy
Thank you for your submission, but the subject of this article already exists in Wikipedia. You can find it and improve it at John D Wood & Co. instead.
The article is about John D Wood which used to be the same company as John D Wood & Co, but for the past twenty-plus years has traded separately under different ownership, offering different services, as my article is about the commercial property consultancy and the existing article is about the residential property consultancy which is a completely different company.
Please do let me know if there is something else I need to change. I have no interest in the company itself, my interest is in the industry, and write about it, hence why the article was created. Chandos1 (talk) 00:08, 13 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution

edit

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Royal Air Force Museum London into Hendon Aerodrome. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 13:27, 19 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi Chandos1, I noticed you also copied some content from BBC Records into BBC Studios without providing the attribution. Please take care to do this when you copy within Wikipedia. I've done it for you this time. Thanks, /wiae /tlk 00:11, 28 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Gipsy Kings

edit

Hello @Chandos1, you have now twice removed authority control from the Gipsy Kings article, without bothering to provide a reason. The first time you did so, I reverted you, and in my edit summary, I asked why the content was removed. At this point, you are edit warring. Please explain your actions and stop being a disruptive editor. Revirvlkodlaku (talk) 17:06, 21 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello,
I didnt see the first message, I do apologise.
I am certainly not trying to cause an issue. Please can you explain more about authority control as clearly I do not know enough... Chandos1 (talk) 17:31, 21 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm GenQuest. I noticed that you recently removed content from Christina Applegate without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Do not remove hidden features in wiki-articles until you know what you are breaking. GenQuest "scribble" 17:53, 21 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi.
Apologies, the only thing I removed was the authority control, which has since been explained to me as not appropriate and which I can assure you I will not do in future. I did add a drop down box at the end hence why I came across the authority control box. If someone could explain to me the significance of the authority control box, it would be greatly appreciated. Chandos1 (talk) 18:42, 21 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
Authority control is a system of assigning unique identifiers to items (people, places, or things) so that all systems such as library catalogues, websites such as WorldCat, and other materials all use the same name for things. There's also more info at Help:Authority control. Please don't remove things from Wikipedia that you don't understand. There's a lot of technical stuff going on, and you are certainly not expected to know what all of it is or the function of each element. Just stick to the stuff you know. And if you have questions, please consider visiting the Teahouse, where highly experienced editors are standing by ready to help. Thanks. — Diannaa (talk) 20:43, 21 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Philippe Cohen Solal, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Christian Vincent and Ángel Parra. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
