Speedy removal
editA tag has been placed on Phileas, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself.
If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Sting_au | Talk 23:25, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
I'm in the progress of translating an dutch article. So it needs to be proofreaded and translated and proofreaded. If it deleted it can not be proofreaded. The sources are placed, maybe I should replace it in whole to the german or the simple english pages. I don't care. Let some one else do the cleaning up and filling the holes. If the english are not do it, the dutch people are going to do it. Carsrac (talk) 00:22, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
- In reply to the message you left on my talk page....I placed the speedy delete template on your article mainly because it looks like nonesense to me. This may be due to use of poor English? An article on the English Wikipedia should be understandable by English speaking people. Perhaps a better translation of the original article source (which you also need to reference) is in order. In the mean time I'll leave the deletion tag there for an Admin to decide on. Sting_au | Talk 00:10, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
- I don't think you did read the article in the present form. Yes, for one second it was nosense, but that is the way I work. If you don't like it. Fine, but a work in progress is a work in progress. And if you don't understand it, please learn dutch and then we can discuss it in nobel language. Carsrac (talk) 00:26, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
I have discussed the speedy delete with the Admin who removed it. Have now placed cleanup, unreferenced and wikify tags on your article. That way editors who may be able to assist with this article can find it easier. Enjoy your editing on Wikipedia and I'm sure the article will eventually read much better. Cheers, Sting_au | Talk 00:47, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Bateri, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.ethnologue.com/show_language.asp?code=btv. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.
This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. CarsracBot
editThe bot removed a bunch of correct interwiki links from 0 (number). It made a similar edit to another article before, so please fix this. Thanks --Oxymoron83 22:17, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
Both are manual controlled actions. With 0 (number) I have made the two lists one with the word Zero or its translations of that word. And 1 with only the number. The problem is that in some translation there is only one article about zero and the number 0 and in others there are two.
With Jezus of Nazareth and Jezus Christus. In some translation there is made a difference between holy being Christus and the human Jezus. Carsrac (talk) 17:26, 11 July 2008 (UTC)

CarsracBot - a suggestion
editHello - I came across edit by the bot and thought "well, if I can spot that the severe lack of interwikis is likely to have been caused by vandalism, could the bot have not not flagged it?". Hence this suggestion: could the bot add to a warning page if it ever adds more than a given number of interwiki links? That page could then be watched so that editors such as myself could double-check edits for prior vandalism. Just a thought... Stephenb (Talk) 09:35, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the suggestion, but it is not the way the bot works. And I have not the permission to change warning pages or generate those pages. My bot does interwiki and may only do interwiki. Removing iw vandalisme is something bots can very good counter. And it is very quickly repaired. Carsrac (talk) 19:19, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
French wiki : framework.net and Microsoft.net
editHello, I'm Anne97432 from French wiki. I have have tried to explain your concerns to the community but found little sympathy for your suggestion of a merge. The idea seems to be that the philosophy of the two articles is too different and that the contents of either are so fully developped that a merge (everyone seems to think framework.net would be subsumed into microsoft.net) would result into a huge, bloated article and that things are fine as they are. If there are any further arguments you would like me to experiment with, please answer on the French wiki. I seldom check this one. --Anne97432 (talk) 15:59, 3 March 2009 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Frances Y. Slanger
editA tag has been placed on Frances Y. Slanger requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Nuttah (talk) 14:44, 27 March 2009 (UTC)

CarsracBot issue
editHi Carsrac, recently CarsracBot edited several pages of the Ada Programming wikibook. It removed some obsolete interwikis (e.g. [2]), and that's great. However, it also moved valid interwikis out from a 'noinclude' section to the bottom of the page (e.g. [3] [4] [5] ...).
Placing the interwikis within a 'noinclude' section was intended because wikibooks usually have a printable version which includes all chapters, so otherwise all the interwikis for each page will be shown in this printable version. I'll be forced to revert those edits made by your bot to avoid this problem. Please, change the behavior of your bot so it doesn't move the interwikis out of those noinclude sections. Cheers, —surueña 11:24, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
- I will correct this unwanted behaviour by hand. The problem what that is first removed the iw and after that added the iw, but the bot is programmed that iw should allways be the last line. I will try if some is willing to change this behaviour in last line except if the last line is the /noinclude tag Carsrac (talk) 22:14, 23 October 2009 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Spyker metalband
editA tag has been placed on Spyker metalband requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Crystal field theory
editHello. Is there a good reason why your bot deleted the link from Crystal field theory to the German article de:Kristallfeldtheorie today? I am a chemist and seems to me that this was a valid link. Dirac66 (talk) 20:21, 4 October 2011 (UTC)

Wikidata is here; please disable any interwiki bots on the English Wikipedia
editHi!
Wikidata has been deployed to the English Wikipedia. Going forward, Wikidata will manage interwiki links. Further information: m:Wikidata/Deployment Questions and <https://blog.wikimedia.de/?p=13892>.
Important note: Bots that continue to add, remove, or update interwiki links on the English Wikipedia may be blocked from editing after Saturday, February 16, 2013.
If you are running pywikipedia's interwiki.py, please update to pyrev:11073 which will automatically prevent your bot from updating links on this wiki.
If you have any questions, please ask at the bot owners' noticeboard. Thank you for your past work maintaining interwiki links. It has been very appreciated and we're looking forward to an even brighter future with Wikidata. Legoktm (talk) 09:23, 14 February 2013 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:FreeVMSlogo.png)
editThanks for uploading File:FreeVMSlogo.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Werieth (talk) 21:28, 5 September 2013 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Interion
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Interion requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about something made up, and it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. editNewsletter Nr 5, 2017-12-30, for WikiProject Genealogy (and Wikimedia genealogy project on Meta)
Participation: This is the fifth newsletter sent by mass mail to members in Wikipedia:WikiProject Genealogy, to everyone who voted a support for establishing a potential Wikimedia genealogy project on meta, and anyone who during the years showed an interest in genealogy on talk pages and likewise. (To discontinue receiving Project Genealogy newsletters, please see below) A demo wiki is up and running! Dear members of WikiProject Genealogy, this will be the last newsletter for 2017, but maybe the most important one! You can already now try out the demo for a genealogy wiki at https://tools.wmflabs.org/genealogy/wiki/Main_Page and try out the functions. You will find parts of the 18th Pharao dynasty and other records submitted by the 7 first users, and it would be great if you would add some records. And with those great news we want to wish you a creative New Year 2018!
Cheers from your WikiProject Genealogy coordinator Dan Koehl. To discontinue receiving Project Genealogy newsletters, please remove your name from our mailing list.

editCaroline Kaart moved to draftspace
editAn article you recently created, Caroline Kaart, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. - I have nominated it for deleting as this article is a translation of the Dutch article that is wel sourced. It is enough that there is a dutch article about this person. Thanks for the cold welcome of this translation. Google translate is good enough so I do not need to make my own translation. Carsrac (talk) 08:11, 21 September 2020 (UTC)

Rob Slotemaker's date of birth
editHi Carsrac. I reverted your change to Rob Slotemaker's date of birth because you did not provide a reliable source to support the change. Numerous sources including historicracing.com and motorsportmemorial.org specify his date of birth as the 13th of June. DH85868993 (talk) 02:28, 20 September 2022 (UTC)
- I think it is very good to look at the source of those websites. Most of the time the source is Wikipedia. My source is very hard. I will give the links. 10:55, 20 September 2022 (UTC)
- My source is https://www.delpher.nl/nl/kranten/view?query=Adriaan+Robert+Slotemaker&coll=ddd&identifier=ddd:010658999:mpeg21:a0233&resultsidentifier=ddd:010658999:mpeg21:a0233&rowid=6 . But that source give the publication date and not the birth date. I will search again. For now I revert the change from 23 into 13 again. I need to come with stronger sources.
