editHello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be engaged in an edit war with one or more editors according to your reverts at Printed circuit board. Although repeatedly reverting or undoing another editor's contributions may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, and often creates animosity between editors. Instead of edit warring, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.
If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to be blocked from editing. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. While edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, breaking the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a block.
I am making the reasonable assumption (since you have made an identical edit) that you are the same person who anonymously edited the article and was warned here. SpinningSpark 15:20, 19 May 2014 (UTC)
Brucesmith-usa, you are invited on a Wikipedia Adventure!
editHi Brucesmith-usa!! You're invited: learn how to edit Wikipedia in under an hour. Hope to see you there! |
This is your only warning; if you insert a spam link to Wikipedia again, as you did at List of EDA companies, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted, preventing anyone from linking to them from all Wikimedia sites as well as potentially being penalized by search engines. Blogs are not an acceptable external link, and as for your practice of hiding redlinks by piping to a legitimate article, that is deceptive in the extreme. SpinningSpark 19:03, 19 May 2014 (UTC)
Welcome to The Wikipedia Adventure!
edit- Hi ! We're so happy you wanted to play to learn, as a friendly and fun way to get into our community and mission. I think these links might be helpful to you as you get started.

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you use Wikipedia for soapboxing, promotion or advertising. I have just deleted your userpage for unambiguous advertising. While we are quite tolerant of what user's have on their own userpage, advertising is definitely not permitted. This really is your final warning now. If you try to promote your company on Wikipedia again, no matter in how minor or trivial a way, you will be blocked from editing. SpinningSpark 09:27, 20 May 2014 (UTC)

Request reason:
I think I was blocked mistakenly. My intention was not to do any advertisement. I just want to add my personal profile. As I own a business, so I mentioned the name. If that is considered as spam, I apologize for that and will take care in future. Kindly unblock my account to share quality information Brucesmith-usa (talk) 11:12, 20 May 2014 (UTC)
Decline reason:
You were not blocked mistakenly, although clearly you edited mistakenly. A Wikipedia userpage is NOT a page for you to insert your profile; it is a page on which you can insert your specific interests, activities and functions insofar as they relate directly to your participation here. And your edits also show that you do not appreciate that Wikipedia is not a "how to" manual. If unblocked what do you intend to write about? --Anthony Bradbury"talk" 11:21, 20 May 2014 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

I blocked you for using your account only for promotion. In his unblock decline message Anthony Bradbury asked you what you do intend to write about if unblocked. You have not replied to him. SpinningSpark 08:28, 21 May 2014 (UTC)

I will be writing about myself. About my qualification, experiences. I will be focussing more on these. Brucesmith-usa (talk) 9:34 am, Today (UTC+1)

Well, that's a no, then. You may not use Wikipedia to write about yourself. I believe you are looking for LinkedIn, not Wikipedia. Yunshui 雲水 08:38, 21 May 2014 (UTC)

Well, Linked In is for professional stuff. I am looking Wikipedia more for a personal interest. If that too against the guideline then suggest what topic needs to be added on the user page. I will write on the same guideline Brucesmith-usa (talk) 09:13, 21 May 2014 (UTC)
Decline reason:
Yes, LinkedIn is for professional stuff. And Facebook and Twitter are for personal stuff. Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia, not a directory or social media. The user page can be used by people who are here to work on building the encyclopaedia to give an idea of themselves without being self-promoting. It is not a free web hosting service for all and sundry to post their profiles. Peridon (talk) 09:49, 21 May 2014 (UTC)

I got your point. Well its just because I am a newbie, I get it all wrong and assuring the administrators that will follow the guidelines very strictly in future. Brucesmith-usa (talk) 10:17, 21 May 2014 (UTC)

Per below. After five unblock requests, it's clear that you don't get it and don't want to get it. So, to avoid a further waste of our time, I am revoking your talk page access. Any further unblock requests will just have to be made via email. — Daniel Case (talk) 15:50, 21 May 2014 (UTC)

- Keeping all of the above in mind, please answer Anthony Bradbury's early question - if unblocked, what do you intend to edit? Yunshui 雲水 10:24, 21 May 2014 (UTC)
- I will write about my personal interest, achievement, qualification and will participate to offer some healthy information without advertising. Brucesmith-usa (talk) 12:43, 21 May 2014 (UTC)}
- Above answer extracted from unnecessary new request. Only one request at a time, please, and you don't need to post a request to answer a question. Peridon (talk) 13:16, 21 May 2014 (UTC)
- No you won't. Wikipedia is not free web-hosting for your CV. OhNoitsJamie Talk 14:55, 21 May 2014 (UTC)

If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should read the guide to appealing blocks, then contact administrators by submitting a request to the Unblock Ticket Request System. If you have already appealed to the Unblock Ticket Request System and been declined you may appeal to the Arbitration Committee's Ban Appeals Subcommittee. Please note that there could be appeals to the unblock ticket request system that have been declined leading to the post of this notice.
