'Nikolas Fenech' article

edit

Nikolas Fenech is considered a hero where I live. I am just explaining his childhood to those who are interested in him. I don't see how this article is considered vandlism, and why it should be deleted. I have seen much worse articles than this one.

what if someone creates the page about me?, then it wouldn't be a vanity page...do you need some sort of proof...can you explain the qualifications to have a page about yourself?....and even if someone creates it about me...they can't now because you deleted it...--Matthewmazankowski 22:04, 16 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

well will you at least undelete it, so it doesnt show me deleted on here, that way when someone makes one about me when i am famous, oh and i will be...and there will be proof, it wont be hard for them to make it for me. PS how do you establish nobility?... say i actually am famous and you just don't know it, how do you find out?--Matthewmazankowski 02:30, 24 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sorry - No. Notability is like an elephant - you know it when you see it - but not always easy to define! Even if the article was recreated the edit history still lists the deletion on a back page. When you are famous you should treat this as a badge of honour! Now go and get famous! Brookie :) - a will o' the wisp ! (Whisper...) 04:56, 24 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

jewish meditation

edit

Ok. Just to let you know what's going on. I started and have been working on a new page called "Jewish meditation". Jewish meditation is usually called by its Hebrew name: Hisbonenus or Hitbonenus depending on your pronounciation. I made pages for those Hebrew titles to link to my new page. Then I got your message and I learned how to redirect. I did so, and hitbonenus (w. the T's) seems to be working great. Hisbonenus (w. the Ss) however, takes you to a page that has the redirect link-but then you have to click on it. Do you know how to get it working automatically like Hitbonenus with the Ts? Help.

Update: Ok, now the redirect is working properly, I figured out the problem.

Okay out with the vanity in with the facts

I agree with your move to the user page. Still a little vain, but I'll trim it down. Trying only to make cross reference for Beehive Standard Weekly publication. I think this last edit gets a little more to the point n'est pas?

I edited this one a few minutes ago, not realizing it was a re-creation of a deleted article. I have no idea of his local notability, but it does indeed looks like NN vanity to me. Grusl 08:09, 18 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

I noticed on Talk:Dictionary_of_National_Biography that you have access to the DNB on CD and wondered if Mr. Collins was in there, at least 3 books published, born 1868ish in London, South Belgrave. cyclone

edit

Hi. yeah, I'm trying to an assignment on cyclones. when I went to the page, I coticed how retarded the structure section of the cyclone page is. It may be because I am stupid and can't understand the smart way it is written, but I'm pretty sure that this isn't right:

The clouds of a cyclone is an extremely high-pressure area. Near the outer layer of ducks of the cyclone the pressure quakking attack, from high- to low-pressure regions, and the Coriolis force must be in an approximate extra-terestrial sighting region (or else the cyclone would collapse in on itself under the pressure monsters). The wind flow around a large cyclone is always as big as a large-sized polar bear in the central hemisphere, and clockwise in the southern hemisphere, of coarse due to the bombing of nuclear-powered waste matter effect.

again, maybe it's just me. but I'm pretty sure that the size of polar bears have nothing to do with cyclones. thanks.

I'm a little confused about how to write an article

edit

I was wondering about my Stacy Silver, Julie Silver, and The Digital Kill entries. Isn't the point for someone to write an article and then have someone edit to make it better? Because there are many articles that previously did not establish notability such as "My Summer of Love" which was later edited to encompass the rules. I was wondering on that note, if you could unlock my previous article so I could edit them. The problem with Stacy Silver is that there is very little information on her so establishing notability could be difficult, nonetheless it is one step closer to wikipedia's goal of complete knowledge database.

The main issue here is notabilitiy - as far as I can see the Digital Kill lot just aren't notable and if there is not a lot on Ms Silver this is probably becasue she isn't notable. Wiki is not just trying to be a depository on everything and everyone - the base mark is that they are notable! Please also sign your notes with 4 x ~ or use the signature icon in the edit menu. DYK Update

edit

Hi Brookie, I've added back the two articles you removed so that they get the minimum 6 hour exposure on the main page. Items being removed should also be archived on the template talk page, all the necessary instructions are there and at Wikipedia:Did you know/Guide. Cheers. --Cactus.man 15:49, 8 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

  • You need to propose your nomination at Template talk:Did you know before it can be placed on the main page. There are dozens of articles in line ahead of your article. — BRIAN0918 • 2006-06-08 15:58
:-) the 4 items thing is a mistake I made when I started updating DYK. Since the main page redesign the rule is now up to 6 items to suit the space available on the main page. Maybe the instructions are still out of date - I'll have a look. Also, you need to nominate your J Cahn entry on the template talk page under the date of article creation. The general rule in updating is to use the older items first, working up to the newer ones. That way all articles get a fair shot at being selected. It will be great if we get another pair of hands to help the updaters. Cheers. --Cactus.man 16:04, 8 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

I respect that it's your job to be an administrator, but why did you delete the page 'Greg Wain'? This has upset me as I provided a justification for the page in the discussion. I found the article to be deleted improperly (IMHO) and without any rationale given, which is a double WP:BITE problem. Besides, don't we have WP-wide consensus that Headmasters are notable?

Furthermore I should add that there is some confusion over 'Greg Wain'. I gathered from your comment that you assumed Greg Wain created his own page. This is not the case.  Once again i'm sorry for the big mess. I'll clarify; Yes I am Jeremy Tozer, with the usernames Gw06 and JonoL. In addition, the Wain article is on Gw06's user page because the user Crzurussian (or something similiar to this) migrated it for me.

I would appreciate the article being reinstated, cheers Brookie.

P.S. I also noticed on the Greg Wain article, in the image section, you have left the comment about Greg Wain and myself. How can I sort this mess out, so the article and image are coming from only one source or username? Regards JonoL 09:32, 9 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi Brookie,

A bit confused. It seems that you have deleted some of the post that I have made.

You seem to have deleted the post related to both the Production company Grillifilms, even though at Wikipedia there are a lot of them listed. See links:

traktor bbc Film production companies

Furthermore you seem to have deleted a few directors, again not sure though the logic why... please check:

Jonas Åkerlund Music video directors Film directors

I have now (or will within soon) re-create the articles I wrote earlier, and I truly hope that it is not your private subjective view that decides which directors are to be listed and which are not.

not sure if I agree with you. An example; did Lordi win Eurovision a few weeks ago? Did Pete Riski direct all their Music videos? Wasn't "Hard Rock Hallelujah" the second most watched video at youtube.com the week after the contest?

For me, this is notable.

I do hope that you agree, and instead of deleting the contribution I make, please guide me so that I too write articles that are good to read.

There is a user, I'm not sure if he's an administrator or not but he wants to delete it and protect it from re-creation because he doesn't the notability for it. I disagree wholeheartedly. The band is currently signed to Interscope Records and are recording their debut album through the Myspace Records imprint. If that isn't notable enough, that's kind of sad.

Thank you much. Adam Klatka

Hi Adam - it has been deleted as you say 5 times - which kinda shows what the view is on the article; I have just had a look at the deleted article and there is nothing notable there and it reads more like an advert - if I had seen it I guess I would have done the same. Why not re-do the article in your user space - flesh it there and work on it and then go back the admin who deleted it and see if it then reaches standards. I have created you a sub page User:Eyeamzerox/Hollywood Undead to play with. Good luch and be bold. Brookie :) - a will o' the wisp ! (Whisper...) 07:09, 22 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thank you very much. Will get a photo

I am afraid I am not very good at this. Why does it not show up when you do a search. —Preceding unsigned comment added by DuBoulayUK (talkcontribs)

It will do - just takes some time to get found and listed. Please also remember to create a header for your new notes and to sign your notes with ~~~~ - anonymous edits confuse people!Brookie :) - a will o' the wisp ! (Whisper...) 13:29, 26 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Please undelete Rose Ensemble

edit

Please undelete Rose Ensemble which you deleted as a G4. The following text from the bottom of User_talk:JDoorjam explains what happened.:

I rewrote the article Rose Ensemble which you deleted as a copyvio. It isn't a copyvio now, and I think the tour and the recordings are a sufficient assertion of notability. (I started to rewrite it before you deleted it, but you deleted it before I was finished.) Anyway, please look at the article and make any changes that you think are appropriate. --TruthbringerToronto 05:21, 27 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
I added a fact tag to the tour section. The whole thing really does need explicit references, but I won't delete it again. Thanks for letting me know you reposted it, and good work cleaning it up; if it gets nominated for a speedy deletion or gets deleted as a reposting of deleted material (as sometimes happens when admins are in too much of a hurry), let me know and I will advocate for its undeletion. Please undelete Rose Ensemble again

edit

RasputinAXP deleted "Rose Ensemble" with the comment "nn band". Would you please undelete it again? Thanks. --TruthbringerToronto 07:50, 28 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

If we do we it would have to marked afd to get a concensus otherwise it will keep getting deleted - is this okay? Brookie :) - a will o' the wisp ! (Whisper...) 15:36, 28 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Yes. Do whatever you think is appropriate. Thanks. --TruthbringerToronto 15:55, 28 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

I didn't realise that it has already been to an afd Rose Ensembe afd and failed. I really think that this is the end of the line for it - sorry! Brookie :) - a will o' the wisp ! (Whisper...) 16:12, 28 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Bring Back The V.I.P. Page!!!!

edit

I have been consulting my good friend Captain Daniel Splashback and he would like to know why you deleted the entry for him and his band off of wikipedia.

He say's you are a "complete Stilton-Rider who rides stilton like a horsey."

He requests that you unprotect the page so that he may re-write it or you die.

BRING BACK THE PAGE! BRING BACK THE PAGE! BRING BACK THE PAGE!

Bring back the visually impaired placenta page!

edit

Very well I am in a very serious frame of mind. I wish for you to unblock the page of Visually Impaired Placenta so that Captain Dan Splashback can rewrite it. You may block my account if I rewrite it instead. I think that is a fair deal. The Captain knows the most about the band and its history so he is the perfect person to write it. Thank you for reading my protest.

Hello wikipedia. I, Captain Dan Splashback of Visually Impaired Placenta am deeply upset and distraught that you chose to delete the page about my band, which is very precious and dear to my heart. Please bring it back. What were your reasons for deleting it? Or at least lift the block so it can be rewritten.

No - it has been deleted 4 times including after failing an afd Brookie :) - a will o' the wisp ! (Whisper...) 07:01, 29 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Very well. Please explain what an "afd" is.

A vote for deletion rather just a plain speedy deletion; if it has failed that it really is a dead duck. Brookie :) - a will o' the wisp ! (Whisper...) 15:27, 30 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Julien Cahn

edit

I'll give it a go, but not for a few days because I'm a bit busy in real life (and I also don't know a lot about Julien Cahn, though I think I have a book somewhere that does!). Johnlp 21:33, 28 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

The Cue Ball Group

edit

Hello, Brookie. I noticed that you deleted the advert that was the The Cue Ball Group page (I totally agree with your take on it, by the way, I voted for speedy)- I was wondering if you could do me the favor of closing the respective AFD page it had going with it. And for reference, there's also another resume/advert page running corollary to it, about one of the employees, at Jill Kravetz. Thanks a ton, and keep up the good work! :) --Kuzaar-T-C- 15:59, 29 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

It's a multiple listing due to a large number of sockpuppet activity on the original. If one is notable enough to be kept then all are or the other way round. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 15:57, 4 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
