Madonna MySpace

edit

Hello! I do not know anything of /madonnamyspace being anything other than a fan site. /madonna is listed as being "the official madonna myspace page" and Madonna.com links from it. /madonnamyspace has slightly gossipy blogs and also has joined groups, official celeb myspaces don't do that, they're simply there to report information. Also, it has no indicator on the page of being the 'official' page. I would try to stay conservative, seeing as how Wiki should be as professional as possible, I would seriously advocate keeping /madonna as the ONLY MySpace link. Regards... PatrickJ83 18:24, 4 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

As far as what /madonnamyspace is reporting, I'd assume they're just copy-catting Madonna.com. PatrickJ83 00:14, 6 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

User:Pulsar vectram

edit

User:Pulsar vectram was a sockpuppet of User:19748 created to votestack Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Brisbane Grammar School (2nd nomination). 19748 created several fake user pages by copying other people's information, your profile was probably one of a couple that he hijacked. Since neither user's been on for a while, I doubt that you have anything to worry about. But if you don't like having your userpage mirrored at User:Pulsar vectram, an admin could probably get that page deleted for you. ˉˉanetode╦╩ 18:03, 6 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Userbox deletion

edit

You can delete WP:GUS'd userboxes once transclusion is done via speedy deletion instead of "clogging" up the templates for deletion. There is a specific criteria that allows this for uncontroversial housekeeping (G6). I personally use the following code to speedy delete templates:

{{Db-g6}} Reason: Orphaned due to [[Wikipedia:Userbox migration]], all instances of transclusion moved to new location.

This helps speed up the process. Harryboyles 11:19, 14 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I'm already using {{db-g6}} (since a few days) for userfied ubx. However, there are some ubx that were up for deletion before or that have transclusion links on protected pages. I thought they might not fall under criteria for speedy deletion. --Bisco 11:26, 14 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Sorry about that. It was from about a week ago that I was referring to. Good work by the way :) Harryboyles 11:30, 14 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Image tagging for Image:HydraAquariumDoor.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:HydraAquariumDoor.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well. For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 09:21, 31 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

I didn't upload the picture originally, I only modified it. I'm informing the original uploader. --> Too late, pic has been deleted. --Bisco 17:41, 10 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Georeferenzierung deiner Serumwerk-Bilder

edit

--Kolossos 22:27, 23 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Vielen Dank für den Tip. Habe tatsächlich alles auf den Objektstandort bezogen. Ich werde mir das noch mal vornehmen und die Positionen korrigieren und Blickrichtungen angeben. -- Bisco 13:38, 24 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Number Format

edit

I noticed that you changed 1000 to 1.000. In English, the standard is to use the comma for the thousands separator and the period/full-stop for the decimal separator (See decimal separator). Heqwm 07:33, 7 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. For the Election committee, MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 13:47, 23 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Request for opinion

edit

Hi Bisco: Sorry to trouble you, but I could not help but notice your expression of affection for TOS on the Wikipedians who like Star Trek: The Original Series page, and so I would be curious of your thoughts on the notability of a Star Trek author for whom I just created a Wikipedia article -- which may be promptly destined for the trash pile. As a newcomer here at Wikipedia, my first article attempt was indeed recommended for deletion within hours of its creation by a senior user named JzG who seems to me to be overly hostile and dismissive of Star Trek, calling it fancruft (= trivial, obscure, of importance to just a tiny group of fanatics) . Since you are a Trek fan, if it is also your good faith opinion that my subject is in no way deserving of an article on this site; and you could let me know, I would feel much more comfortable with the justice of the pending deletion action. My proposed article may be seen here, assuming you visit the page soon enough ... https://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Gerald_Gurian Kind Regards. Tosresearcher (talk) 05:13, 7 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
