Miss Bono

Hello Bielle,

I am mentoring Miss Bono. She lives in Cuba. Our article Internet in Cuba should give you an understanding of some of the access challenges she faces. She has access at work through an Intranet that allows her to read and edit Wikipedia, but she has no access to Wikimedia Commons, Google, or most of the broader internet. Developing her English language skills and computer skills are part of her job training, and editing English Wikipedia is therefore part of her daily work routine. However, none of her editing so far that I've seen has involved COI. She avoids politics and rarely edits Cuba related topics at all. I do not know the exact restrictions her employer has placed on her, and do not consider it my business or yours. She has contacted me to let me know that she considers your questions intrusive and frightening. Please take this information to heart in interacting with her. Thank you. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 21:38, 11 July 2013 (UTC)

I wasn't concerned about COI or anything at all except an apparent paradox. Now the question is answered. I am sorry if the questions appeared frightening or intrusive. She had simple answers apparently, and you have now given them. I never did have a quarrel with her; I was just curious about otherwise puzzling behaviour. No more puzzle; no more interaction. Simple. Bielle (talk) 22:16, 11 July 2013 (UTC)
Thank you very much for your prompt response. I am grateful. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 22:24, 11 July 2013 (UTC)
Bielle, the reason I contact Cullen328 is for English is his native language and an explanation from him would be far better than one that came form me. And second, I try to avoid subjects related to my country and else. Please, try to understand. Thanks both of you. Miss Bono(zootalk) 11:50, 12 July 2013 (UTC)
Thank you for writing, User:Miss Bono. I don't personally believe you have to avoid articles about your country or its politics, but, if that is your choice, or your employer's choice, that's fine. (I am am quite sure that every other country in the world has citizens writing about it and its politics. That's much too broad for a COI claim.) You must have access to incredible libraries if you are writing articles, but have no access to the rest of the Internet.
It was kind of User:Cullen to reply for you, but very few of us on WP would object to notes on talk pages written by non-native speakers. It is only in articles that we correct the language use. I appreciate that you wanted to ensure that there were no misunderstandings. Bielle (talk) 16:36, 12 July 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for understanding me :) Miss Bono [zootalk] 16:49, 12 July 2013 (UTC)
