Welcome!

edit

Hello, Bhor.sankalp, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Switch Mobility, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Hello, I reverted your edit at Switch Mobility for a couple of reasons. First, if Switch is basically Optare under a new name, it would be more appropriate to move the article Optare to the title "Switch Mobility." Do you have a secondary source that says that these are the same companies? If so, I'd be happy to help to facilitate the article move. Second, the article's tone was overly promotional. Please take a second to read WP:NPOV, particularly the subsection about impartial tone. Also, if you have any relationship with this company, please read Wikipedia:Paid-contribution_disclosure and WP:COI for relevant guidelines. Thank you. Aoi (青い) (talk) 08:40, 8 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
Hello, again, I am concerned that you keep re-creating this article instead of responding to my inquiries here. I again repeat that if these are the same companies, it would be more appropriate to move the article Optare to Switch Mobility to preserve the former article's history. You'd be able to help build the article up. In addition, since you have declared that you are updating this article on behalf of Switch Mobility, you have a WP:COI and generally should not be editing the article directly per WP:COIEDIT. Instead, you should propose your edits on the article talk page. I or another editor can help you format your proposed edits into proper Wikipedia formatting. Please take a moment and at least read Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide before making any additional edits. Aoi (青い) (talk) 06:15, 12 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
It's more than a name change as Optare was simply UK company. Switch acquired the electric vehicle IP from Optare and also acquired the EV division of Ashok Leyland via a slump sale. I'll see if I can find some third party docs on this. Also, can we schedule a call with you or your team? Bhor.sankalp (talk) 03:42, 13 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for responding. I saw that this source in the article, which states that Ashok Leyland had "renamed Optare Group Ltd to Switch Mobility Ltd". However, if you think the differentiation is enough that both articles should remain separate, then I accept it. If there is a need to merge the two articles later on, this can always be done fairly easily.
Regarding the Switch Mobility article: I strongly suggest that you use the WP:Articles for creation process. To initiate this process, follow this link: WP:Articles for creation. When you are there, click the blue button that says, "Click here to start a new article". This will allow you to create a draft of the Swift Mobility article. You can use the content that you wrote previously as a starting point. Once you are done writing the article, you can click the "Submit for review" button on the page and the article will be submitted for review by experienced article reviewers. If the reviewers accept the article as being ready for publication, it will be published as a regular Wikipedia article.
Finally, regarding your question if I or my team would be available for a conference call -- I'm just an individual volunteer editor and I apologize but I don't do Wikipedia-related calls. If you have questions or need help from other editors, I think it would be best if you follow this link: WP:TEAHOUSE. That links to the "Teahouse," which is a place where you can post questions. There are editors and administrators far more experienced than I am in article creation there, and they can help you. I can also try to help you to the extent that I am able.
Again, I appreciate you taking the time responding to my inquiry as you did. And thank you for taking time to use the Articles for Creation process, as it helps to maintain the integrity of the encyclopedia. Aoi (青い) (talk) 20:50, 13 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
Hi, I have created the same article using WP:Articles for creation. Could you please help me get this reviewd faster? Draft:Switch Mobility
How long does this process usually take? Bhor.sankalp (talk) 11:43, 18 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello, thank you for creating the article in draftspace. It looks like a reviewer has already made a few edits, and I went in and changed some of the article formatting. Please note that although you have successfully created the draft article, you have not yet submitted the article for review. If you look at the top of the article, there's a blue button that says, "Submit the draft for review!" You can click that button to submit the article for review whenever you are ready.

However, please note that a reviewer has made some edits to the draft and added a note to the top of the page that states that the article contains content that is written like an advertisement. You will need to reword or remove parts of the article that read like an advertisement in order for the article to be accepted for publication. As a random example, the sentence "Despite a challenging UK market, investment in 2018-19 and 2019-20 proved successful" under finances is subjective and its tone sounds promotional. Its inclusion probably isn't necessary. You can provide the raw numbers from the annual report, but any sort of analysis (like the statement that Optare received "high value contracts") should be cited to an independent reliable source. I advise trying to fix these problems before submitting the article for review. Aoi (青い) (talk) 23:42, 18 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi Aoi, Switch Mobility's draft article has been reviewd but rejected. While you suggested to create a draft first but the draft got rejected for following reason : 'Thank you for your submission, but the subject of this article already exists in Wikipedia. You can find it and improve it at Optare instead.'. Please advice. Bhor.sankalp (talk) 07:27, 21 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
The reviewer's comments indicate that they think it is not appropriate for Optare and Switch to have separate articles since they are the same entity. Accordingly, they opened a discussion at Talk:Optare for the merge. If no one opposes the merge in a reasonable amount of time, it would probably be most appropriate to either have the Optare article moved to Switch Mobility (and to have your changes merged there), or for your Switch Mobility draft to be merged into the Optare article without moving the article. In the meanwhile, please do not keep restoring the article at Switch Mobility. Thank you, Aoi (青い) (talk) 19:07, 21 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
We are okay with merging 'Switch Mobility' & 'Optare'. Can you help us with next steps? Thank you. Bhor.sankalp (talk) 10:59, 3 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Aoi (青い) (talk) 05:22, 31 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Fyi, I've requested that the page be moved to Switch Mobility at WP:RM#TR so you don't need to take action on this yourself. Note that it may take several hours for someone with the relevant page mover rights to make (or not make) the move. Aoi (青い) (talk) 05:37, 31 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
The reviewing page mover did not move the page. Per this diff, they indicated that the company calls itself "Optare" on its own website. When I checked to confirm, I noticed this also. Can you please clarify why this page should be at "Switch Mobility" and what the difference is between "Switch Mobility" and "Optare"? Your draft article, Draft:Switch Mobility, indicated that Swift was the same company as Optare, just renamed, but looking at these websites, it's not clear that this is actually the case. At this point, I'm tempted to just revert everything back to how the page appeared in mid-April. Aoi (青い) (talk) 19:59, 31 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
Also, as a reminder, per WP:COI, you really should not be editing articles directly since you are a paid user. Instead, you should be proposing changes on the article talk page using the Template:Edit request template and allowing independent editors to make the edits on your behalf. Thank you, Aoi (青い) (talk) 20:12, 31 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
Also, if you want, you can put a request in to have the page moved by going to WP:RM#TR and following the instructions there. However, please do not attempt to do the move yourself by cutting and pasting the content, as Wikipedia's policy requires that the history of the content move with the content itself for attribution purposes. Thank you, Aoi (青い) (talk) 05:42, 1 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
Hi, Thankyou for replying. The company calls itself Switch Mobility now. It has 2 websites Switch Mobility and Optare. Since, Switch Mobility is now the updated name we want to use Switch Mobility wikipedia page as the only article and redirect or move 'Switch Mobility & Optare' to 'Switch Mobility'. Can you help me make this redirect? Bhor.sankalp (talk) 06:46, 6 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Your draft article, Draft:Switch Mobility

Hello, Bhor.sankalp. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Switch Mobility".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. When you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. plicit 00:29, 7 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
