TheKompany
Hi Bgwhite, can you look at TheKompany. It's the same as ProgRock Records with reverts by same user. Thanks, Kirin13 (talk) 22:09, 20 May 2014 (UTC)
- Kirin13 Done. I also blocked the user for one week for violating 3RR on both articles and disruptive editing... reverting multiple people on both articles after being warned. I'll throw in a block for free! How long should I block that evil Kirin13? :) Bgwhite (talk) 22:58, 20 May 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks Bgwhite. The only defense I can give blocked user is that he did stop after being given uw-3rr warning on his talk page – though by that time he had 5 reverts on ProgRock Records and 4 reverts on TheKompany in less than 10 hours ... – so, thanks for your assistance! Re edit summary
Re this edit summary: I don't think that this was the most civil way this could have been dealt with. In any case, I don't think that my edit created the problem I was referring to—your edit did. This is what the page looked like after my edits. This is what it looked like after your fix. I did fix the page as I best knew how to; I don't think there's any need to make comments such as, "Then fix the problem you created. Don't do a revert and blame it on others." If you took my edit comments as uncivil or as attacking you, I apologize—I was simply trying to fix the problem while simultaneously notifying you that your edit made the situation worse. I award you this barnstar for your patient and cogent explanations on the First Colonial High School talk page. Along with User:Electric Wombat, I think you defused some anger by setting some people straight in a polite manner. I could never have imagined such a row after the reversion of the addition of some non-notable names to a high school alumni list. Great job. Donner60 (talk) 01:52, 23 May 2014 (UTC) |
Hello,
I understand that you have created the article for Adrianne Calvo at https://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Adrianne_Calvo. She would like us to add more sections to the article you have created, and due to our inexperience in modifying wikipedia articles, we may have come across as acting with an an attempt to vandalize your article. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you, and we kindly ask that you do not let our inexperience deter you from allowing us to work in this article as our intentions are genuinely in the best interest of our client Adrianne Calvo.
If you feel we can arrive at a amicable solution on how you would like us to submit any modifications for the article, or to provide any proof that we are acting in good faith, please do not hesitate to contact us by email or by phone -- which can me provided upon request.
Thank for your understanding and guidance in this matter.
Respectfully Submitted,
Salvador Frutos
- First off, I didn't create the article. I came to the article because of a syntax problem found in the article. I do think it is getting closer to being "right".
- All material added to biographies of living people must be referenced. See WP:BLP.
- As it appears you are editing the article on behalf of Calvo, please read WP:COI about conflict of interest.
- Many of the refs you added are unreliable. Any PR refs is written by the person or company the PR is about.
- The Johnson & Wells] ref goes nowhere.
- Material has to be neutral and as the TV show line goes, "Just the facts mam". "Calvo did a fantastic job in preparing quality and creative dishes" is an example of both. Just say she participated and how she did. No need to mention this in the Awards section, just leave it in the TV section.
A barnstar for you!

Changing sub to small
Did you use a tool or did you have to change everyone by hand on the Puahi article? Thanks by the way.--Mark Miller (talk) 19:44, 24 May 2014 (UTC)

Just give me a holler if you have any other pages to do. btw... I bought my car from you. Can I get a discount next time. :) Bgwhite (talk) 05:33, 27 May 2014 (UTC)
Adrianne Calvo Page
Hello-
I know we have been back and forth with the Adrianne Calvo Wikipedia page, but our errors are not done on purpose! We have been trying to correct the mistakes. For example, we added references when you requested us to do so. We are new to this, but need this page fixed properly and published as soon as possible. Recently, you notified us about a final warning on 'vandalism' before we are blocked from editing. We need your help!! I have reviewed the Wikipedia's vandalism information and still do not know where we went wrong. We are aware that you are far more knowledgeable with this, and figured you could point us in the right direction. Could you please inform me specifically what we need to fix? Thank you!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Adrianne Calvo (talk • contribs) 15:56, 27 May 2014 (UTC)
- Adrianne Calvo, reverting me three times without addressing an issue, especially after warnings were given, is disruptive editing or vandalism. I've already responded up above. Bgwhite (talk) 18:29, 27 May 2014 (UTC)
Adrianne Calvo Page
My apologies about not addressing the issue earlier! As previously mentioned, I am brand new to this and was unaware of the effects from reverting content- acts of vandalism and/or disturbance were absolutely not my intention. I am currently reviewing the above mentioned list and working on it diligently, so it may be approved for Wikipedia. Thank you for your help Bgwhite! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Adrianne Calvo (talk • contribs) 21:13, 27 May 2014 (UTC)
Bot activity at Media Independent Interface
Hi there! Your bot converts sub-section headers to section headers at Media Independent Interface. Do you know why it does this? Frederico1234 (talk) 15:43, 27 May 2014 (UTC)
- Frederico1234. Section header cannot start with a level 3 (===) header. Section headers cannot skip. The article title is a section 1 (=) header. A Section 2 (==) must follow. See message above this for more details. Bgwhite (talk) 18:03, 27 May 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks for the reply. I now see why the bot did what it did. The bot ignored the level 2 headers as they had hidden comments on the same lines. Perhaps the bot could detect these hidden comments and move them to a new line? Frederico1234 (talk) 19:05, 27 May 2014 (UTC)
- Frederico1234, no the hidden comments are not a problem. The problem is the article has no levels 2 headers to start. The very first header is a level 3 header. The bot has fixed it twice and you have reverted twice. The problem is still in the article. Fix the underlying problem. Bgwhite (talk) 21:01, 27 May 2014 (UTC)
- I think it was both. The first four level 3 headers were without a level 2 header. The other eight level 3 headers had a level 2 header but the bot didn't recognize it because of hidden comment directly after the ==. Both issues should be fixed now. Kirin13 (talk) 21:23, 27 May 2014 (UTC)

Electric telegraph heading structure
Mind telling me why your bot made this change to the heading structure on Electric telegraph? MOS:HEAD was cited but I can't see what specific problem was being addressed. I have reverted it; besides destroying the logic of the heading heirarchy, it caused a number of other problems with subsequent editors—including leading one to delete a heading that is linked from other articles. SpinningSpark 13:29, 26 May 2014 (UTC)
- Spinningspark, The article skipped section heading levels. The article had a level 3 (===) heading followed by a level 5 (=====) heading. This is incorrect for accessibility reasons. MOS:HEAD also refers to WP:ACCESSIBILITY § Headings. "Headings should be nested sequentially, starting with level 2 (==), then level 3 (===) and so on" An example is also given where it is incorrect to skip a heading level. This is also invalid HTML. Screen readers do not handle section headers if they are not in proper order. The bot reduced the level 3 headers to level 2 header because there was no valid level 2. Nothing should go after the trailing = in a section header. "== History ==<!-- This section is linked from List of basic communication topics -->" is not proper as there is a comment right after the trailing =. Bgwhite (talk) 05:59, 27 May 2014 (UTC)
- I am aware of the accessibility issue but had not noticed the level 5 heading. The problem was caused by the immediately prior edit which should probably just have been reverted. I don't have an issue with that, but I do have an issue with the bot turning level 3 headers into level 2. The problem with hidden comments on title lines is that the section name is then not automatically entered into an edit summary. That is a pretty minor problem compared to the disruption that occured following your bot change. The correct action should have been to move the hidden comment on to its own line. Are you saying that your bot cannot recognise headings with hidden comments as being headings? If so, I think you should fix your bot. The MOS may say not to do it, but I see it done quite frequently. SpinningSpark 09:45, 27 May 2014 (UTC)
- I do not know what you know, thus my longer reply. After Table of Content issues, this is the issue I most frequently get yelled at, especially by people with ownership issues as they refuse to acknowledge accessibility. The bot did not cause any disruption afterwards, including removing the header. Do not blame the action of vandals on other editors or bots. Scottywong, could you take a look about the comment issue. Bgwhite (talk) 18:21, 27 May 2014 (UTC)
- Deary me, I'm not blaming the bot for the actions of vandals. I'm blaming the bot for creating two consecutive level 2 headings with no intervening text. SpinningSpark 21:57, 27 May 2014 (UTC)
- From what I remember, the code uses regular expressions to look for headings. It does this by looking for lines that start with two or more equals signs, followed by anything, followed by the same number of equals signs immediately followed by a line break. The comment immediately after the heading might be causing the code to not recognize that line as a heading. The code has to be careful, because there are other legitimate uses for consecutive equals signs in the text of an article (for instance, mathematical equations, code samples, etc.). The regex could probably be tweaked to recognize (or ignore) comments that are directly after a heading. Or, the code could be amended to pre-process each page and ensure that any comments after headings are shifted to the next line, before the regex even operates on the page. Either of those changes will require a significant amount of work, and a significant risk of introducing unintended bugs into the code. If I were still maintaining this bot, doing nothing would be one option I would consider in this case, since the frequency of this issue is extremely low, and can be manually fixed with ease. However, if you're willing to put in the time to edit the code and rigorously test it, this is an issue that can be fixed. ‑Scottywong| yak _ 13:51, 28 May 2014 (UTC)
- If you'd like me to take a look at the code, shoot me an email with the latest version and I'll see if I can find some time. ‑Scottywong| confabulate _ 13:55, 28 May 2014 (UTC)

Adrianne Calvo Page
Hello- I have made the necessary changes to the Adrianne Calvo page based on your constructive feedback and guidance. However, I do not want to publish the material without the proper approval. Would I be able to publish at any point without being blocked? Or would you like me to send the content to you somehow. Please let me know what the best option is without the possibility of being restricted from editing. Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Adrianne Calvo (talk • contribs) 18:01, 28 May 2014 (UTC)
- Adrianne Calvo The article is live. So, anything in the article must be backed up by sources found in the article. It would be best to hold off publishing until you have approval as that would be the safest route. You won't get in trouble from your side and won't get in trouble from the Wikipedia side of things. Hi, why have you removed the advise in the page UDEUR Populars? In a discussion we decided not to use the acronyms for the names of italian parties. Can you move this page to "Union of Democrats for Europe"? --Maremmano (talk) 20:37, 28 May 2014 (UTC)
- Maremmano, I look at the code and not the visual page. I saw a big huge mess and it had a user signature. We don't sign our name in articles, only on talk pages. If there are other pages or for the next time you do a move, use the {{Requested move}} template.
- I have moved the page. Looks like the discussion requested that all the links to "UDEUR Populars" found in other pages be directed to the new location. A listing of the links can be found here.
- I am not very pratical, thanks!--Maremmano (talk) 21:14, 28 May 2014 (UTC)

I edited this things sitting near to her ... that means she did it.... I hope wikipedia understands my words .... if you need some proof or something I am ready to give ...
- I just removed a couple of movies that I couldn't find refs for that the movies were in production. A couple of refs said she is scheduled to act, but filming hasn't commenced. I found a reference for one movie that it is currently filming. The rest for 2014 will keep in as they do have reliable sources, not fake ones. Times of India is a reliable source and not fake. If you have concerns about specific movies, please tell me which movie, your concern and what your sources are. Bgwhite (talk) 20:46, 29 May 2014 (UTC)

Hello
Hello,
I recently had my management people edit some info on the Andrew Freeman musician page. This entails adding links and more accurate information to the Blockk 16 part of Andrew my brothers page. I myself am in fact the owner and creator of all things Blockk 16. Moving forward i see within the last 24 hrs you i think removed the updated information. The links along with info was correct along with all links. So my question to you is why was it removed when the history i provided was all truth. Please advise as i may be missing something. Thank you so much for your time in this matter.
Ray Freeman Jr Blockk 16 Raymond@Raethoven.com
- Please read WP:COI. You and you "management people" should not be editing the page. You and the "people" are not neutral. I also have no proof of who you say you are. Last week I was supposedly talking to Miley Cyrus' family members. During election times, you won't believe all the candidates I supposedly am talking to, especially about adding negative things to their own site.
- The "Thirty Stone" paragraph contained references that mentioned both Freeman and Thirty Stone. You completely removed this from the article. This should never have been done.
- You added to a paragraph about Blockk 16. There were no reliable references that tied Freeman to Blockk 16. Wikipedia, Facebook and YouTube are not reliable refs.
- The added to paragraph was a complete mess. The wikilinks were done incorrectly. There should be no links to external sites in the paragraph. There should be no external links in section headers. Look how the rest of the article is done or at other articles for guides.
The block has some consequences... at least

Malfunctioning move
Feast of Our Lady of Snows has supposedly been moved to Dedication of the Basilica of St Mary Major. Clicking on the new title gives the text as it was the time of the move, something that I did not notice when I later made a spelling correction that I was surprised to see still needed to be made. It is the old title that gives the text with the substantial changes that have been made since. Would you please see that the move actually takes place, making the text at present at Feast of Our Lady of Snows appear instead at Dedication of the Basilica of St Mary Major, and turning Feast of Our Lady of Snows into a redirect. Esoglou (talk) 07:44, 2 June 2014 (UTC)
- Esoglou It can get messy when moves for awry, been there. Not much I can do on my end. I restored the redirect of Feast of Our Lady of Snows (Snows). I can't move Snows to Dedication of the Basilica of St Mary Major (Major). Major contains the article's history. That should be preserved. What's best is if you add to Major or copy Snow's content to Major. The article's history is preserved, material is correctly added and it shows you added it. Bgwhite (talk) 20:06, 2 June 2014 (UTC)
- Thank you very much. I have copied the content to the moved page. Esoglou (talk) 20:18, 2 June 2014 (UTC)
Holly Ponichtera
She meets the college sports notability guidelines as an individual who won a major award with two individual gold medals at the sports championship. Additionally, she meets the general notability both for the major scientific discovery related to the parasitic worms and for her induction into Dartmouth College's Hall of Fame. There is media coverage to evidence the former as notable. Furthermore, the figure skating guidelines are only in draft form and do not have the power of force. They are not yet listed in the sports notability listing: "This advice is not a formal Wikipedia policy or guideline, and it may not provide valid criteria for an AfD nomination." For these reasons, I find it necessary to remove the AfD. Please refrain from using draft criteria as the singular reason to justify AfD.
Hppalm (talk) 17:28, 2 June 2014 (UTC)
I stand corrected that figure skating does have general notability criteria listed in the WP:ATH. However, the guidelines for the categories listed in sports refer in general to competitions at the professional and amateur level that do not include college (thus the reason for the college notability criteria). I stand by my assertion that Ponichtera is notable because of her individual gold medals at the U.S. Intercollegiate National Championship for figure skating in 2006. She also won a gold medal and a silver medal in individual competition at the 2005 national intercollegiate championship. One can make a strong case that she played a major role in Dartmouth attaining the team national championship in both years. She also contributed to Dartmouth's 2004 and 2007 national championships. When you combine this with her enshrinement in Dartmouth's hall of fame (Wearer of the Green Honors) it significantly attests to her notability. The scientific discovery in immunology also adds to her case for notability especially considering that doctoral students rarely make such discoveries.
Hppalm (talk) 19:57, 2 June 2014 (UTC)
- Hppalm, first off, I didn't add an AfD. I added a Prod. You cannot remove an AfD. You cannot stop an AfD.
- You have read college sports notability guidelines wrong. Winning a major award does not automatically confer nobility. It is only given as an example of possibilities , not concrete examples. WP:NCOLLATH states, "... notable if they have been the subject of non-trivial media coverage beyond merely a repeating of their statistics, ..." Collegiate figure skating is not a sanctioned NCAA sport. It falls under the umbrella of United States Figure Skating Association (USFSA). To establish nobility, non-local media coverage is needed. FYI... meeting any condition on Wikipedia:Notability_(sports) does not provide automatic nobility. It only provides presumed nobility. If challenged, references must be proved to show the person meets GNG. This is a common misconception. Bgwhite (talk) 20:37, 2 June 2014 (UTC)
- As for her "scientific discovery", you have shown only one publication. It is the publication of her Doctorate dissertation. You need refs to show how "big" of a discovery this is. In short, find refs to back up claims. Bgwhite (talk) 20:37, 2 June 2014 (UTC)

recent Urban planning edits
You recently deleted an Urban Planning edit as unreferenced which referenced the IPCC and a second edit which provided references for the Gilgamesh statement to the effect its the first reference to Urban Planning. I'm reverting your deletions and invite you to join me in discussion on the talk page if you wish to pursue this further. Data and Lore (talk) 08:10, 4 June 2014 (UTC)
- Data and Lore, um no. You added four big paragraphs with no references. Adding an hidden link somewhere else in the text does not count. Every paragraph must be sourced. Please follow how other sources are done in the article, with {{cite web}} templates. Bgwhite (talk) 08:17, 4 June 2014 (UTC)
- @(talk)I added references 4 to epic of Gilgamesh and 125 to IPCC for Global Planning with the ref template Data and Lore (talk) 08:36, 4 June 2014 (UTC)
I feel like I've been over this with you before. It's not missing a closing bracket. The bracket is at the end with the closing ref tag. For whatever reason, <!-- <!-- --> is the same as <!-- -->. Please stop correcting what is not an error because the correction only puts an error in as a result. I do not know why this year this error is being corrected repeatedly when I have used this same formatting for at least 2 years and no one has done a CheckWiki fix on the pages.—Ryūlóng (琉竜) 20:21, 5 June 2014 (UTC)
- Ryulong Yes, it feels the same. You with your ownership issues of not wanting to comply with accessibility or an extremely minor copy edit. You are battling over "-->". Why in the world would you revert this minor issue? Why? You battled with Magioladitis over the same issue on May 27 and you undid it on May 31. The article goes on this list. As you see, it is empty. No articles in Wikipedia has a problem with closing comment tags. The list shouldn't be cluttered because of people with ownership issues. Only recently have we turned to this Checkwiki error to empty it out. We got sick and tired of fixing other problems that were a result of borked comment tags. You have just come off a block (three this year) for edit warring and automated reverts of other editors. Help me put the end comment tag in the right spot instead of just reverting. Bgwhite (talk) 21:27, 5 June 2014 (UTC)
- But it's not in the right place. It's not broken. The page displays as it is intended. And my blocks have nothing to do with any of this. Lay off the ad hominem attacks. There is no error. Because as soon as you type --> any preceding number of <!-- tags are closed, regardless of there be no matching pairs. You saw what it did to the article.—Ryūlóng (琉竜) 22:12, 5 June 2014 (UTC)
- In fact it is not correct. Comments close because html conversion is clever enough to do it. But some developers your their html conversions instead of using the Wikipedia provided. And the pair of unclosed comments may cause problems. No reason to risk it. -- Magioladitis (talk) 22:22, 5 June 2014 (UTC)
- As soon as anyone like you two have attempted to close off that tag it either reveals the content that is hidden in the first place or it adds a visible --> to the page. If it's displaying as intended now why attempt to fix what is not an actual error such that it causes display problems?—Ryūlóng (琉竜) 22:50, 5 June 2014 (UTC)

Hungarian Turanism article and User:Maghasito
USer:Maghasito try to spread of pseudo science, the so-called Hungarian Turanism , which is now a politically motivated chauvinist pseudo-science from the 19th century and a core agenda of far right Jobbik party and ww2 nazi Arrow Cross Party . There are not a single contemporary scholar (academics university professors) linguistics, historian population geneticist on this planet, who support that fantasy theory. Wikikpedia is a free encyclopedia, however it is not the place of the popularization of pseudo-scientific politically-motivated fantastic nonsenses. The best option would be the permanent ban of Maghasito. Thank you!--Dosemark (talk) 10:24, 6 June 2014 (UTC)
Iris Recognition Deletion
Hi, just curious to know why you removed our entry on the "iris recognition" Wiki page about the technology's use for patient identification in hospitals? I added it back as I don't see any reason why this can't be listed. JohnnyT22 — Preceding unsigned comment added by JohnnyT22 (talk • contribs) 18:58, 6 June 2014 (UTC)
- JohnnyT22, the paragraph is highly promotional, especially the "The technology is designed to help boost patient..." sentence. That sentence probably should be removed. It needs to be written to make it not sound like a sales pitch. Bgwhite (talk) 20:25, 6 June 2014 (UTC)
Parvathy nair page
Dear sir,
- there is two more films she is not doing in the list..."That year, she was also shooting for the Kannada film Parvathi Pura, playing the role of a photographer[4] However, the film did not release till 2014" . "She had signed up to play the female lead Meera in Pravasi, a crime thriller based on real life incidents, which was being made as PC in Tamil" [this two sentences in "career" I want to remove it]
- in career " she landed a role in kamal hassans uthamavillan .... [I like to change it to " she landed a prime role in kamal hassans uthamavillan] "
- Nee ko nja chaa was a hit ...[ she like to mention it in the page ]....
- Also in 2013, she appeared in a music video, "Ariyathe Ninayathe", by Vineeth Sreenivasan.[14] [it is viral hit online she like to mention it ]
only first edit I mentioned is urgent .... others is if possible only ..... advance thanks to you .... --Abhinand1234 (talk) 20:27, 6 June 2014 (UTC)abhinand
- 1; Done. I'm sorry I didn't remove it early when I removed the films from the table.
- 2: Didn't do. She isn't one of the main leads and it doesn't appear to be a crucial role.
- 3: Didn't do. Nee Ko Njaa Cha wasn't a hit. At the box office, it did average at best
- 4: I can't see where it is a viral hit. I only see 800,000 views on YouTube. Where can the video be found that would prove it is a viral hit? Bgwhite (talk) 21:03, 6 June 2014 (UTC)

- I need some help for this. Tito, I'm having troubles verifying that the movie Parvathi Pura was ever completed. I'm not sure of Parvathy Nair's status in the movie. I've seen her part a star and a cameo. Abhinand1234, don't hold Tito's Bengali speaking against him. We know all Bengali speakers are crazy :) Bgwhite (talk) 06:03, 7 June 2014 (UTC)

Hi Bgwhite, I'm not crazy. Actually I wanted to create something with "Manoj" title but the title maybe creation protected hence I cannot create it. Can you revoke that protection so that I can create it? Thanks. I repeat "I'm not crazy" Jim Carter (talk) 17:52, 7 June 2014 (UTC)
- Jim Carter, you are crazy. Get used to it. Who or what is the article about? It would get more complicated if the previous article's subject is the same as yours. I'm about to head out the door for eight or so hours, so I won't respond right away. Bgwhite (talk) 18:06, 7 June 2014 (UTC)

- Manoj does seem like a reasonable DAB target. --kelapstick(bainuu) 18:30, 7 June 2014 (UTC)
- Jim Cartar, for now why don't you set up the DAB page in userspace, then tomorrow, the page can be unprotected and moved over?--kelapstick(bainuu) 23:47, 7 June 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks for the idea Kelapstick. It is here please move it to Manoj. Thanks.
- BTW if anyone want to become a film actor then you should change your name to Manoj. Most of the Manoj(s) are film actor. Jim Carter (talk) 14:04, 8 June 2014 (UTC)
- Done. Although the DAB could use some additional information, like explaining it is a name, etc. --kelapstick(bainuu) 14:21, 8 June 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks kelapstick. I can't add anything today. It took two hours and 46 edits to partially complete a single DAB. I got frustrated with so many Manoj(s). I may add some stuff by tomorrow. Thank again to both of you. Jim Carter (talk) 14:51, 8 June 2014 (UTC)

stara velika bulgaria brato
CHAPTER CXX the oldest documents about Bulgaria and Kubrat are from the chronics of JOhn of Nikiu in early 600 AD:
47. And when the inhabitants of Byzantium heard this news, they said: 'This project is concerned with Kubratos, chief of the Huns, the nephew of Organa, who was baptized in the city of Constantinople, and received into the Christian community in his childhood and had grown up in the imperial palace.'
CHAPTER LXXXIX
74. But immediately on his return to the emperor, the
latter removed him from his command, and appointed in his
room another general, named Cyril, of the province of
Illyria. 75. And he also gave battle to Vitalian, and
there was great slaughter on both sides. Cyril the general
retired into the city named Odyssus, and stayed there while
Vitalian withdrew into the province of Bulgaria.

AWB and RMS Quetta
Can you please not use AWB on RMS Quetta? It's breaking the formatting. There appears to be a formatting bug (or code deficiency) in relation to using quotes in this particular article. This is why I have added HTML markup as the only workaround to produce the intended markup. I put a comment in the source code to that effect which I had hoped would warn editors from doing this but maybe you did not see it when using AWB. If you can find a way to make the formatting work using quotes, please do, but after trying everything I could think of, I gave up and resorted to HTML markup (which works). Thanks. Kerry (talk) 09:08, 13 June 2014 (UTC)

Re: Your edit on Adolfas Mekas' page
Dear bgwhite, I appreciate your worry over adolfas mekas' page. However the page is being edited by students and family members of Adolfas and the large amount of content your erased caused his family members some grief so we ask that you not do it again... luckily we were able to salvage the material and made a separate page for the bibliography and are hoping to keep it intact. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hilsteadman (talk • contribs) 23:34, 13 June 2014 (UTC)
- Hilsteadman. Please see the message a couple above this about Mekas. Please note, the students and family have a conflict of interest. Please read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest and I ask you not to the edit the page. If you do edit, anything that is not neutral and referenced will be removed. Anybody can edit any page, so be prepared for the page to be changed. Bgwhite (talk) 23:46, 13 June 2014 (UTC)
Wikipedia article on the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant
I see you reverted my change of "ISIS" to "ISIL", back to "ISIS". Just wanted to explain my action: I was following what was said on the Talk page for the article (#11 "Rename" in green) about standardising the name to ISIL - though reading it again, I see I had overlooked that this was a suggestion, not a ruling. Is it perhaps time to get a firm ruling on using either "ISIL" or "ISIS" in Wikipedia articles where this body is mentioned? I see the press are now mostly using "ISIS". (BTW, "Sham" on the "View history" page that you reverted was not my edit, but an earlier one - I wouldn't have wanted to add to the confusion by bringing in "Sham"!) --P123ct1 (talk) 23:24, 13 June 2014 (UTC)
- P123ct1, Ahhh, sorry. I didn't know the page was under pending changes. It was not my intention to revert your changes, just do a couple of minor edits that included "sham". Go ahead and make the edits again. Bgwhite (talk) 23:33, 13 June 2014 (UTC)
OK, will do. What does “the page was under pending changes” mean? Perhaps it is something I should know, as I have been happily editing the Wiki article on the leader of ISIL, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, when perhaps I shouldn’t. Or am I barking up the wrong tree? (I am fairly new to Wiki editing.) --P123ct1 (talk) 00:23, 14 June 2014 (UTC)
