ENOUGH
editAs near as I can tell every single one of your image uploads has been stolen from hotel websites. Every one. I don't know whether you're overenthusiastic or what, but this is flatly forbidden. Stop it. --Calton | Talk 00:27, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

Your edit to Clift Hotel
editThank you for the additional material that you contributed to Clift Hotel. However, in the process you destroyed the page layout and removed useful material. When editing, please build on what is there rather than replacing it. Also please take note of how the page is now structured. I should be happy help if you have any queries. License tagging for Image:Morgansfacade.jpg
editThanks for uploading Image:Morgansfacade.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Commercial use of Image:Morgansbar.jpg
editHello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:Morgansbar.jpg, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:Morgansbar.jpg has a copyright license type implying some type of restricted use, such as for non-commercial use only, or for educational use only or for use on Wikipedia by permission, which was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19 or is not used in any articles (CSD I3). While it might seem reasonable to assume that such files can be freely used on Wikipedia, this is in fact not the case[1][2]. Please do not upload any more files with these restrictions on them, because content on Wikipedia needs to be compatible with the GNU Free Documentation License, which allows anyone to use it for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial. See our non-free content guidelines for more more information.
If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.
If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.
If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. This bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Image:Morgansbar.jpg itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. If you have any questions about what to do next or why your image was nominated for speedy deletion please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thanks. CSDWarnBot 19:03, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

Duplicate images uploaded
editThanks for uploading Image:AlcoveKing.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:AlcoveKing-delano.jpg. The copy called Image:AlcoveKing-delano.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.
This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 16:03, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

editHello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:Sandersonlobby2.jpg, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:Sandersonlobby2.jpg is unquestionably copyright infringement, and no assertion of permission has been made.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Image:Sandersonlobby2.jpg, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Your message
editIn the words of your rather confused metaphor, if I wanted to "throw you under a bus" I'd seek to have you immediately blocked as a serial copyright infringer or report you to the Conflict of Interest Noticeboard as an obvious PR agent working for the Morgan Hotel Group. And I still may.
As for your uploads, well, there was a great big page of instructions displayed each time you uploaded a picture, telling you exactly what could or couldn't be uploaded and -- more specifically -- the instructions for adding the proper tags and a big warning of the consequences displayed each time you failed to do so. Not to mention the MULTIPLE warnings and instructions on what to do in the notices directly above THIS message. So I'm not particularly sympathetic for people who fail -- or are unwilling -- to read said warnings and instructions and DEMAND that I do things for them.
I've been busy, but now, any urge I had to assist has pass. Sorry, you need to find someone else to make demands of, or you might try reading the copious warnings and instructions that have been placed before you by now. --Calton | Talk 14:20, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
Image source problem with Image:LApool.jpg
editThanks for uploading Image:LApool.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 00:43, 8 September 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ugen64 00:43, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 00:57, 8 September 2007 (UTC). Image source problem with Image:Skybar.jpg
editThanks for uploading Image:Skybar.jpg.

Hello from an administrator
editHello, I became aware of your problem from the conflict of interest noticeboard and I may be able to help clear up your problem.
Wikipedia has to be very careful about copyright issues. Even if you have permission from this hotel group to upload material, Wikipedia will delete the images unless the copyright status is properly notated. Material under full copyright must be marked "fair use" and, as such, can only be used in a way that satisfies fair use standards. At Wikipedia that normally means the image may appear only at the article that directly relates to the image (that is, a photo of XYZ resort in Palm Beach can only be used at the article about that particular hotel). Only one fair use image is permissible per article. Wikipedia welcomes this material so long as the uploader bears in mind that this site is foremost an encyclopedia (rather than a web host or a travel guide).
This hotel chain - which I suppose is your employer? - may wish to release a certain amount of material under cc-by-sa copyleft licensure. The details behind that are a bit complicated, but basically what it accomplishes is that it frees the image to be reused more widely and allows the organization that owns the image to have a link back to its website at Wikipedia's page for the image. The owner may specify that each downstream user link back to that website (on the image page rather than at article captions). In addition to volunteering for Wikipedia I write a column for the online publication Search Engine Land and my upcoming piece discusses the matter in depth. Feel free to contact me at my user talk page or my e-mail (which is linked from there). Best wishes, DurovaCharge! 04:11, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
The article Sanderson Hotel has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Generic spam for a totally non-notable hotel of no architectural or historic significance, sourced solely from their own website. This one's so blatant I considered G11-ing it.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. – iridescent 14:33, 22 February 2010 (UTC)
