editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Evolution of Worcestershire county boundaries, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page South Middleton (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Indented replies at Talk:Evolution of Worcestershire county boundaries/GA1
editHi -- I just did some indenting of your replies at Talk:Evolution of Worcestershire county boundaries/GA1; I hope that's OK. Not sure if you've participated in a review like this before, but this is a pretty common way of interacting -- having each person's comments start on a separate line, indented to show what they're replying to, makes it a lot easier to read. There are two indent characters: "*" and ":". The asterisk creates a bullet; the colon creates an indent with no symbol. If you want to reply to an indent, repeat it and add a colon or asterisk, as you prefer -- e.g. if I start a row with "*:::", and you want to indent with no bullet, start your reply with "*::::". I hope that's useful.
Thanks for your patience with my review -- you've clearly put a lot of work into the article, and I think the material is there for GA, but it's such a confusing topic that I think we need to be extra careful about clarity. That of course means I have to understand it properly before I can work with you on figuring out the best way to explain the events, and I'm afraid I'm being a bit slow. Anyway, I should have some more time this evening on it; I am about to go out for a bit but expect to work on it later. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 22:13, 30 August 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for your assistance Mike...it is greatly appreciated! :) Bellow558 (talk) 15:28, 31 August 2014 (UTC)
Worcs articles
editI created most of this a few years ago and got it to GA and I really want to get it up to FA (it's very close already and has had 2 PRs). If you are a local person and feel up to it, you may like to give me a hand. Most of the earlier collaborators are no longer active. There's also this that was on the brink of being passed as GA but I was taken ill during the review and couldn't finish it at the time. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 07:02, 31 August 2014 (UTC)
- Hi there kudpung...Once I get this GA review out of the way, I'll go through both and see what needs to be done (if anything) and add some bits to the talk sections. Then take it from there? The one thing that could be useful is using the Evolution of Worcestershire county boundaries article to start cleaning up some of the Worcestershire page. What do you think? Bellow558 (talk) 15:26, 31 August 2014 (UTC)
- Well, I think the Evesham article is pretty much ready to be nominated again. It needs the links checking to see that none are dead since the last time I did it. One of the original aims of the Worcestershire Project was to get all the major towns in the county up to GAS, but as far as I can remember, Worcester, Kidderminster, Redditch, and Bromsgrove are in a terrible state and would need a lot of work. Malvern is already done and really needs to go for FA now. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 06:48, 5 September 2014 (UTC)
- I did a quick read of the Evesham article last night and it seems pretty comprehensive to me, if I get the chance over the next few days...I'll go through it with a lot more detail and compare it to the previous GA review. The only thing that I can see is the "Transport" section could probably do with the main bus routes included? I can also start going through the Worcester article soon and try to clean it up Bellow558 (talk) 10:13, 5 September 2014 (UTC)
- All the links in Evesham also need to be checked to ensure that none of them have gone dead. dead links are a sure fail for GA. I'll be away fro a few days - let me know on my talk page when you would likeme to give it a once-over. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 02:54, 6 September 2014 (UTC)

Worcestershire Map 1932 Derived Works
editHi,
I've only just noticed you've created some maps based on my Worcestershire 1932 Map. The reason I didn't notice is that you haven't listed them as derived works on my original map page, but instead have listed me as the author. In fact for works like this, you should be listed as the author (as you made these versions) and then your versions are listed as derivative works in the other_versions= tag of the original file description.
I would also like to say the source material I have for the original map shows the individual parishes you are marking in your maps. So if you wish I can create a version that shows the parishes and upload it for you to use that instead. Alternatively I am happy to create versions of the maps you have myself for you to use. Please let me know what you would like to do :) XrysD (talk) 11:56, 28 November 2015 (UTC)
- Hi there...thank you for your message; I apologise for not responding to your message sooner! If you have the time, that would be great if you could create a few maps for use on this page...that would be fantastic. It would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! Worcestershire and Worcestershire History pages
editHi there, thank you for adding material about the Norman conquest to Worcestershire. The Worcestershire page though really needs a very simple but complete history section, as it is a general page for the whole topic and audience. Some of the detail of it that you have very helpfully put together might be better at History of Worcestershire; could you move and combine the material to that page? There is some material on the Norman conquest there already but I am sure the two parts could be worked together. At the very least, the history of Worcerstershire page should not have less information than the general page, I think. I had intended developing the detail at History of Worcestershire and then producing a simpler version for the main page; I didn't quite complete this task and had at least the nineteenth and twentieth centuries to draft. If you have an queries about the balance of these two pages, we can chat on the talk pages. Thank you again for contributing, it is great to have someone else working on these topics. editWorcestershire - one of England's oldest and still existing (with some minor boundary changes) ceremonial and political shires, famous for its nearly 1000 year old cathedral, the River Severn, the AONB of the Malvern Hills, some of the oldest schools in the country, England's fastest growing university, apples, pears, cider and cricket, and of course its world famous sauce. The Wikiproject is now in need of some attention. Created 12 years ago, this project amassed a huge resource for editors working on all kinds of articles and categories related in some way or another to the county. Kudpung is more or less retired from Wikipedia getting on for 2 years ago and it would be good if a group of editors could get it up to date and continue to maintain it.
