Content you added to the above article appears to have been copied from http://direct.biostor.org/reference/143498.text, which is not released under a compatible license. Copying text directly from a source is a violation of Wikipedia's copyright policy. Unfortunately, for copyright reasons, the content had to be removed. Content you add to Wikipedia should be written in your own words. I see you have made similar additions of "original descriptions" to over a hundred articles, copied from copyright documents. Please go back and remove them all, or add quotation marks to each one. We can't host copyright content. Please let me know if you have any questions. — Diannaa (talk) 14:22, 27 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Adding quotation marks is not a problem, and I'm happy to comply. Will start to do that a.s.a.p.
I have personal email permission from Ed. Petuch to re-use any of his original descriptions,
if that makes the situation any better -please let me know if that works for you.
Perhaps I'm trying too hard to improve Wikipedia pages? BathyMetrix (talk) 14:56, 27 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
I also have permission (and encouragement) from Olividae expert Pierre Recourt for any and all of his new species descriptions oif Olives and Olivellas, on Wikipedia. BathyMetrix (talk) 15:00, 27 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
We would need to have documentation that shows the copyright holders have given permission for the material to be copied to this website. Wikipedia has procedures in place for this purpose. Please see WP:Donating copyrighted materials for an explanation of how to do it. There's a sample permission email at WP:Consent. It's probably easiest to simply add the quotation marks, or remove the copied material. You could also re-write the descriptions in your own words. — Diannaa (talk) 15:56, 27 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
I'm already having great fun adding quotation marks to make things OK!
Be sure to keep an eye on my progress, and let me know if I've missed any. BathyMetrix (talk) 15:58, 27 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
Now I've complied with Wikipedia copyright regulations by adding "quotation marks" for hundreds of Wikipedia pages re. mollusca,
I need you (or someone) to check behind me, to verify if I've done it correctly, and that I've remedied them ALL!
Please let me know how this works out, and provide me a list of whatever else needs to be done to avoid further prosecution.
It's amazing that something as petty as "adding quotation marks" circumvents the copyright problem!
Had I known that previously, a lot of time-wasting hassle (on both our parts) could have been avoided. BathyMetrix (talk) 19:38, 28 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
Spot checks reveal no issues. Thank you for taking the time to do that. — Diannaa (talk) 20:16, 28 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Bizarre breaks

edit

Please stop adding really bizarre <br> in the middle of sentences as you did in this edit among others. This is not standard or useful form and I've noticed you doing it elsewhere. Please stop adding breaks in the middle of sentences and for layout. Thanks. Canterbury Tail talk 23:35, 30 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

I never thought of
as "really bizarre" - just normal html code to make things look better rather than just a big long jumbled legalese-type wording but if it upset you so I'll cease and desist right away! Thanks for the warning! BathyMetrix (talk) 23:50, 30 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
In general we prefer prose over lists and tables. Thank you. Canterbury Tail talk 01:27, 31 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

Caught by an open proxy block but this host or IP is not an open proxy. My IP address is 72.51.111.71. WTH is going ON?? I cleared my wikipedia.org cookies, and logged back in, but same Locked-Out problem! BathyMetrix (talk) 15:23, 16 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Confirmed p2p proxy. See Template:Blocked p2p proxy for more details. Yamla (talk) 15:50, 16 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Disappointed, but Whatever! Wikipedia will suffer the loss of my edits a lot more than I will. I'll wait it out. I've done nothing wrong to aggravate y'all, and hopefully the tech-problem will auto-clear sometime in the near future. Bye -and thanks for trying to help!

Request reason:

I booted my Raspberry Pi 4B to find it provided an entirely difrnt IP address - 192.168.0.112 ..but I'm wondering if that is my Router? Please see if THAT works to free me from Wikipedia Jail BathyMetrix (talk) 10:57, 18 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Yes, that is your router. You've already been given advice on this above. 331dot (talk) 13:20, 18 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

So when can I expect this surprise and nonsensical block to be lifted? while Wikipedia continues to not-benefit from my edits in Mollusca, mainly?BathyMetrix (talk) 13:23, 18 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

If you have done everything you've been told here and it didn't help, unfortunately there is nothing more we can do for you, and we will have to muddle through without your contributions until you are able to access Wikipedia via an IP that isn't a proxy. 331dot (talk) 15:55, 18 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Conus delanoyae, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Boa Vista. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 07:52, 4 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
