G13 nominations
Hi I have been declining many g13 nominations, because the page has never been in WP:AFC. Drafts created from scratch, or moved from article space are not eligible for G13 delete (unless with AFC template added by writer). However some pages were blanked by author, always blank, were nonsense or obviously a test edit, which have their own speedy delete codes. Please read Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion carefully. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 05:41, 4 January 2017 (UTC)
- @Graeme Bartlett: I see your point. Part of the confusion was that, until recently, the {{db-g13}} indicated that everything in the Draft namespace was eligable. Thank you for the heads up! Avicennasis @ 06:05, 6 Tevet 5777 / 06:05, 4 January 2017 (UTC)
- So is there a reason you're tagging a bunch of drafts with {{AFC submission}}? Many of these are due for G13 and your editing (so far as I know) resets the clock. Chris Troutman (talk) 04:07, 24 January 2017 (UTC)
- Well, per the above statement by an admin, they aren't deletable under G13 since they don't have the AFC template. So I'm not resetting the clock, I'm just setting it. Avicennasis @ 04:09, 26 Tevet 5777 / 04:09, 24 January 2017 (UTC)
- Huh. I never noticed the
"that are using the project's {{AFC submission}} template"
line at WP:G13. I would have thought the template was either on automatically or wasn't necessary. Thanks for the explanation. Chris Troutman (talk) 04:15, 24 January 2017 (UTC)

Hello, I was wondering about your move of the above from draft to mainspace. This is clearly a draft which is far from complete being only a list of presenters and containing no details of programming etc. and has more or less been abandoned by the original author. There is also no parent article, although the creator of this draft attempted to write one some months ago but it was re-directed to the BBC Sport page. Just by way of background this draft was created by an IP-hopping editor well-known to the Wiki F1 project who also edits under the username 'Rowde'. Having spent 18 months trying to create articles for F1 cars which fail notability he has more recently turned his attention to TV coverage of the sport, creating pages for "X (form of motorsport) on Y (broadcaster)" which would, if accepted, produce dozens (at least) of pages. However several have been deleted as What Wikipedia is not, WP:NOTDIRECTORY or WP:NOTTVGUIDE. The template as it stands has little use, so is it possible for it to be restored as a draft where it could be deleted as abandoned after six months or would TfD be the more appropriate way to deal with it. Thanks. Regards, Eagleash (talk) 16:48, 4 January 2017 (UTC)
- @Eagleash: Well, per the above, it's not gonna be eligible for G13 as abandoned, so you'll have to take it to TfD. Avicennasis @ 21:41, 6 Tevet 5777 / 21:41, 4 January 2017 (UTC)
Let's reduce the environmental impact of the Wikimedia movement!
Hi Avicennasis, please allow me to get in touch with you because you have stated sympathy with environmental causes on your user page. I would like to invite you to check out the Environmental impact project page on Meta, where I am trying to create some momentum to reduce the environmental impact of the Wikimedia movement. My first goal is to have all the Wikimedia servers run on renewable energy. Maybe you could show your support for this project as well by adding your signature? Thank you, --Gnom (talk) 19:28, 15 January 2017 (UTC)
Hi there! It seems that last week you added a large number of director subcategories to Category:Films by director. However, none of these have the correct sort tag on them, so they are all coming up under "F". Do you know if this is fixable by bot? --Rob Sinden (talk) 13:13, 27 January 2017 (UTC)
- @Robsinden: A bot could do most of the leg-work, but I feel this is best done with some human oversight. Even some of the pages with a defaultsort tag on them don't have it filled out properly. I'll be reviewing and fixing those manually, for the most part. Avicennasis @ 13:26, 29 Tevet 5777 / 13:26, 27 January 2017 (UTC)
- Fair enough, though it seems like a lot of work! Good luck! --Rob Sinden (talk) 13:30, 27 January 2017 (UTC)
Your signature
Hi! Hope you don't mind me nitpicking over your signature. It contains invalid HTML that throws off syntax highlighters. If you don't mind, could you kindly change it to the following? It will render exactly the same as your current signature:
[[User:Avicennasis|Avic]][[User talk:Avicennasis|ennasis]] @
I'm curious how you got the Jewish calendar to show, but at any rate that's not throwing off the syntax highlighters, so no problem there :) Thanks! — MusikAnimal talk 20:22, 27 January 2017 (UTC)
- @MusikAnimal: Done here. The Hebrew dates are just substituted from a time parser function. And I don't mind the nitpick at all - thanks for letting me know! Avicennasis @ 20:36, 29 Tevet 5777 / 20:36, 27 January 2017 (UTC)
Social mobility
I've declined the speedy histmerge, as they are (or were) two separate articles which have been merged. I believe the appropriate fix is to move Wikipedia:Social mobility back to Intergenerational mobility and note the merge on the talk page. I'll set about doing this, unless you think I've missed something. -- zzuuzz (talk) 20:30, 27 January 2017 (UTC)
- @Zzuuzz: That sounds fine. I'm not sure why the article was moved to projectspace in the first place, which is the only reason I found it. Sending it back to articlespace was my main goal - whichever article name it's under makes little difference to me. Thanks! Avicennasis @ 20:33, 29 Tevet 5777 / 20:33, 27 January 2017 (UTC)
New Page Review - newsletter No.2
- A HUGE backlog
We now have 803 New Page Reviewers!
Most of us requested the user right at PERM, expressing a wish to be able to do something about the huge backlog, but the chart on the right does not demonstrate any changes to the pre-user-right levels of October.
The backlog is still steadily growing at a rate of 150 a day or 4,650 a month. Only 20 reviews a day by each reviewer over the next few days would bring the backlog down to a managable level and the daily input can then be processed by each reviewer doing only 2 or 3 reviews a day - that's about 5 minutes work!
It didn't work in time to relax for the Xmas/New Year holidays. Let's see if we can achieve our goal before Easter, otherwise by Thanksgiving it will be closer to 70,000.
- Second set of eyes
Remember that we are the only guardians of quality of new articles, we alone have to ensure that pages are being correctly tagged by non-Reviewer patrollers and that new authors are not being bitten.
- Abuse
This is even more important and extra vigilance is required considering Orangemoody, and
- this very recent case of paid advertising by a Reviewer resulting in a community ban.
- this case in January of paid advertising by a Reviewer, also resulting in a community ban.
- This Reviewer is indefinitely blocked for sockpuppetry.
Coordinator election
Kudpung is stepping down after 6 years as unofficial coordinator of New Page Patrolling/Reviewing. There is enough work for two people and two coords are now required. Details are at NPR Coordinators; nominate someone or nominate yourself. Date for the actual suffrage will be published later.

Reviewed pages in my userspace
Hello! Thanks for reviewing my pages, but I'm not really sure what that means—you also reviewed some pages which are not done, such as User:Psiĥedelisto/Penal Code of Spain, and User:Psiĥedelisto/Q tails has already become Q#Typography. I hope that especially I won't be penalized for the in-translation article User:Psiĥedelisto/Penal Code of Spain because of course it violates WP:NONENGLISH...the translation is not even close to done. Once again thanks, but if you don't mind explaining a bit more what you actually did, I'd appreciate it Psiĥedelisto (talk) 00:41, 6 February 2017 (UTC)
- @Psiĥedelisto: Sure! New page review is essentially a once-over to make sure the pages in question aren't junk - not spam pages, copyright violations, etc. It's kind of like quality control. Your pages (even the ones not fully translated) are useful to Wikipedia, hence the review without adding any deletion tags or anything. When someone cleans half your backyard, do you spread the dirt he gathered back where it came from and tell him to do it again and this time do it right? Some people... --Hob Gadling (talk) 23:47, 6 February 2017 (UTC)
- (by talk page stalker) @Hob Gadling: I don't understand the context of your statement but I think you might overvalue your contributions here. Since we didn't invite you to edit you ought not be surprised when we're not thankful for whatever it is you do here. Chris Troutman (talk) 23:57, 6 February 2017 (UTC)
- I see, it's "we" and "you". You are othering me. --Hob Gadling (talk) 11:22, 7 February 2017 (UTC)
- @Hob Gadling: Moving a page takes all of 5 seconds, maybe 10 seconds on a bad day? I don't think it's a big ask for someone to do it properly. It's not like I undid hours and hours of your work that is going to take the same amount of time to restore. And I certainly wasn't going to move an article to a new (possibly contentious) title with no background or discussion. If you want to, by all means, go ahead. But it does not fall on me to act on your behalf. Avicennasis @ 03:21, 11 Shevat 5777 / 03:21, 7 February 2017 (UTC)
- Since moving a talk page back is the same "work" as moving the article page, I, in your place, would have done the second. Or I would have given me a note that I forgot something. But then, I usually have a cooperative attitude. --Hob Gadling (talk) 11:22, 7 February 2017 (UTC)
Advanced Bionics
Hi, I am wondering why you stopped my article on advanced bionics without explaining why. On the talk page for Sonova someone says that the largers divisions of Sonova (i.e, Advanced Bionics) merit their own article. Why did you eliminate it? It is notable, they are the second leading producer of cochlear implants worldwide.PlanespotterA320 (talk) 11:31, 10 February 2017 (UTC)
- @PlanespotterA320: I'm not sure I understand. I have never edited the Advanced Bionics article, it's talkpage, nor the Sonova article or it's talkpage. Perhaps you have me confused with someone else? Avicennasis @ 11:52, 14 Shevat 5777 / 11:52, 10 February 2017 (UTC)
Page mover granted
Hello, Avicennasis. Your account has been granted the "extendedmover" user right, either following a request for it or demonstrating familiarity with working with article names and moving pages. You are now able to rename pages without leaving behind a redirect, and move subpages when moving the parent page(s).
Please take a moment to review Wikipedia:Page mover for more information on this user right, especially the criteria for moving pages without leaving redirect. Please remember to follow post-move cleanup procedures and make link corrections where necessary, including broken double-redirects when suppressredirect
is used. This can be done using Special:WhatLinksHere. It is also very important that no one else be allowed to access your account, so you should consider taking a few moments to secure your password. As with all user rights, be aware that if abused, or used in controversial ways without consensus, your page mover status can be revoked.
Useful links:

If you do not want the page mover right anymore, post here, or just let me know. Thank you, and happy editing! — Coffee // have a cup // beans // 07:03, 11 February 2017 (UTC)

We now have 803 New Page Reviewers but despite numerous appeals for help, the backlog has NOT been significantly reduced.
If you asked for the New Page Reviewer right, please consider investing a bit of time - every little helps preventing spam and trash entering the mainspace and Google when the 'NO_INDEX' tags expire.

- The BLPPROD grandfather clause, which stated that unreferenced biographies of living persons were only eligible for proposed deletion if they were created after March 18, 2010, has been removed following an RfC.
- An RfC has closed with consensus to allow proposed deletion of files. The implementation process is ongoing.
- After an unsuccessful proposal to automatically grant IP block exemption, consensus was found to relax the criteria for granting the user right from needing it to wanting it.
- After a recent RfC, moved pages will soon be featured in a queue similar to Special:NewPagesFeed and require patrolling. Moves by administrators, page movers, and autopatrolled editors will be automatically marked as patrolled.
- Cookie blocks have been deployed. This extends the current autoblock system by setting a cookie for each block, which will then autoblock the user if they switch accounts, even under a new IP.

New Page Review - Newsletter No.4
Since rolling out the right in November, just 6 months ago, we now have 803 reviewers, but the backlog is still mysteriously growing fast. If every reviewer did just 55 reviews, the 22,000 backlog would be gone, in a flash, schwoop, just like that!
But do remember: Rather than speed, quality and depth of patrolling and the use of correct CSD criteria are essential to good reviewing. Do not over-tag. Make use of the message feature to let the creator know about your maintenance tags. See the tutorial again HERE. Get help HERE.

- An RfC proposing an off-wiki LTA database has been closed. The proposal was broadly supported, with further discussion required regarding what to do with the existing LTA database and defining access requirements. Such a tool/database formed part of the Community health initiative's successful grant proposal.
- Some clarifications have been made to the community banning and unblocking policies that effectively sync them with current practice. Specifically, the community has reached a consensus that when blocking a user at WP:AN or WP:ANI, it is considered a "community sanction", and administrators cannot unblock unilaterally if the user has not successfully appealed the sanction to the community.
- An RfC regarding the bot policy has closed with changes to the section describing restrictions on cosmetic changes.
- Users will soon be able to blacklist specific users from sending them notifications.
- Following the 2017 elections, the new members of the Board of Trustees include Raystorm, Pundit and Doc James. They will serve three-year terms.
Why did you move the obviously incomplete template out of draft-space? It ended up being speedy deleted under G8, I had to undelete it to get it back as I'm not done with it yet. This is particularly irritating as you have never worked on the draft at all, what you did is tantamount to vandalizing other people's work. I see you've been asked not to do such moves before. - A potentially compromised account from 2001–2002 attempted to request resysop. Please practice appropriate account security by using a unique password for Wikipedia, and consider enabling two-factor authentication. Currently around 17% of admins have enabled 2FA, up from 16% in February 2017.
- Did you know: On 29 June 2017, there were 1,261 administrators on the English Wikipedia – the exact number of administrators as there were ten years ago on 29 June 2007. Since that time, the English Wikipedia has grown from 1.85 million articles to over 5.43 million.

Backlog update:
- The new page backlog is currently at 18,511 pages. We have worked hard to decrease from over 22,000, but more hard work is needed! Please consider reviewing even just a few pages a a day.
- Some editors are committing to work specifically on patrolling new pages on 15 July. If you have not reviewed new pages in a while, this might be a good time to be involved. Please remember that quality of patrolling is more important than quantity, that the speedy deletion criteria should be followed strictly, and that ovetagging for minor issues should be avoided.
Technology update:
- Several requests have been put into Phabractor to increase usability of the New Pages Feed and the Page Curation toolbar. For more details or to suggest improvements go to Wikipedia:Page Curation/Suggested improvements

- User:The Earwig/copyvios.js adds a link in your side toolbox that will run the current page through

- Following a series of discussions around new pages patrol, the WMF is helping implement a controlled autoconfirmed article creation trial as a research experiment, similar to the one proposed in 2011. You can learn more about the research plan at meta:Research:Autoconfirmed article creation trial. The exact start date of the experiment has yet to be determined.
- A new speedy deletion criterion, regarding articles created as a result undisclosed paid editing, is currently being discussed (permalink).
- An RfC (permalink) is currently open that proposes expanding WP:G13 to include all drafts, even if they weren't submitted through Articles for Creation.
- LoginNotify should soon be deployed to the English Wikipedia. This will notify users when there are suspicious login attempts on their account.
- The new version of XTools is nearing an official release. This suite of tools includes administrator statistics, an improved edit counter, among other tools that may benefit administrators. You can report issues on Phabricator and provide general feedback at mw:Talk:XTools.

New Page Reviewer Newsletter
Backlog update:
- The new page backlog is currently at 16,991 pages. We have worked hard to decrease from over 22,000, but more hard work is needed! Please consider reviewing even just a few pages a a day.
Technology update:
- Rentier has created a NPP browser in WMF Labs that allows you to search new unreviewed pages using keywords and categories.
General project update:
- The Wikimedia Foundation Community Tech team is working with the community to implement the autoconfirmed article creation trial. The trial is currently set to start on 7 September 2017, pending final approval of the technical features.
- Please remember to focus on the quality of review: correct tagging of articles and not tagbombing are important. Searching for potential copyright violations is also important, and it can be aided by Earwig's Copyvio Detector, which can be added to your toolbar for ease of use with this user script.
- To keep up with the latest conversation on New Pages Patrol or to ask questions, you can go to Wikipedia talk:New pages patrol/Reviewers and add it to your watchlist.

Your draft article, Draft:Vee Technologies
Hello, Avicennasis. It has been over six months since you last edited your Articles for Creation draft article submission, "Vee Technologies".
In accordance with our policy that Articles for Creation is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply and remove the {{db-afc}}
or {{db-g13}}
code.
If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.
Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Legacypac (talk) 05:50, 25 August 2017 (UTC)
G13 category change
FYI, Category:Candidates for speedy deletion as abandoned AfC submissions has been renamed to Category:Candidates for speedy deletion as abandoned drafts or AfC submissions in accordance to the change in the criteria. – Train2104 (t • c) 14:24, 26 August 2017 (UTC)
Moves and redirects ...
Hi, few days ago, after discussion and consensus, article "Catholicism" was moved to "Catholicism (term)", but it seems that none of the redirects were subsequently redirected to the new title, and now the article has no redirects at all. I saw that some, or maybe all of them, were actually redirected by this bot to another article, and thus several problems were created, since some of those redirects were used as links in many articles. There are several issues here, and it would be best to correct this situation simply by redirecting all of those redirects to the new title of the original article: Catholicism (term). - ACTRIAL, a research experiment that restricts article creation to autoconfirmed users, will begin on September 7. It will run for six months. You can learn more about the research specifics at meta:Research:Autoconfirmed article creation trial, while Wikipedia talk:Autoconfirmed article creation trial is probably the best venue for general discussion.
- Following an RfC, WP:G13 speedy deletion criterion now applies to any page in the draftspace that has not been edited in six months. There is a bot-generated report, updated daily, to help identify potentially qualifying drafts that have not been submitted through articles for creation.
- You will now get a notification when someone tries to log in to your account and fails. If they try from a device that has logged into your account before, you will be notified after five failed attempts. You can also set in your preferences to get an email when someone logs in to your account from a new device or IP address, which may be encouraged for admins and accounts with sensitive permissions.
- Syntax highlighting is now available as a beta feature (more info). This may assist administrators and template editors when dealing with intricate syntax of high-risk templates and system messages.
- In your notification preferences, you can now block specific users from pinging you. This functionality will soon be available for Special:EmailUser as well.
- Applications for CheckUser and Oversight are being accepted by the Arbitration Committee until September 12. Community discussion of the candidates will begin on September 18.
AvicBot (make a tiny bit less touchy?)
I created a double redirect this evening that your bot corrected within one minute of creation. Very noble, but I had been considering redoing the middle link into a sort of disambiguation page. In the end I decided not to, but then found your bot had already been at work. I'd encourage you to have the bot wait a few minutes to make sure nothing else will happen before fixing something like this in the future. The existence of a double redirect for 5–10 minutes hurts nobody. Thanks for your consideration. StevenJ81 (talk) 04:38, 4 September 2017 (UTC)
New Page Reviewer Newsletter
Backlog update:
- The new page backlog is currently at 14304 pages. We have worked hard to decrease from over 22,000, but more hard work is needed! Please consider reviewing even just a few pages a day.
- Currently there are 532 pages in the backlog that were created by non-autoconfirmed users before WP:ACTRIAL. The NPP project is undertaking a drive to clear these pages from the backlog before they hit the 90 day Google index point. Please consider reviewing a few today!
Technology update:
- The Wikimedia Foundation is currently working on creating a new filter for page curation that will allow new page patrollers to filter by extended confirmed status. For more information see: T175225
General project update:
- On 14 September 2017 the English Wikipedia began the autoconfirmed article creation trial. For a six month period, creation of articles in the mainspace of the English Wikipedia will be restricted to users with autoconfirmed status. New users who attempt article creation will now be redirected to a newly designed landing page.
- Before clicking on a reference or external link while reviewing a page, please be careful that the site looks trustworthy. If you have a question about the safety of clicking on a link, it is better not to click on it.

- Following a successful proposal to create it, a new user right called "edit filter helper" is now assignable and revocable by administrators. The right allows non-administrators to view the details of private edit filters, but not to edit them.
- Following a discussion about mass-application of ECP and how the need for logging and other details of an evolving consensus may have been missed by some administrators, a rough guide to extended confirmed protection has been written. This information page describes how the extended-confirmed aspects of the protection policy are currently being applied by administrators.
- You can now search for IP ranges at Special:Contributions. Some log pages and Special:DeletedContributions are not yet supported. Wildcards (e.g. 192.168.0.*) are also not supported, but the popular contribsrange gadget will continue to work.
- Community consultation on the 2017 candidates for CheckUser and Oversight has concluded. The Arbitration Committee will appoint successful candidates by October 11.
- A request for comment is open regarding the structure, rules, and procedures of the December 2017 Arbitration Committee election, and how to resolve any issues not covered by existing rules.
Discussion related to double redirect-fixing bots
As the operator of a bot that fixes double redirects, your input into the discussion at Wikipedia talk:Double redirects#The bots should operate with a delay is invited. Incomplete redirect shortcutting considered harmful
See [1]. The reader is left dumbfounded by {{R from other capitalisation}} left on the page; the explanation transcluded by the template does not apply to the redirect any more. --Yecril (talk) 17:22, 20 October 2017 (UTC)

Administrators' newsletter – December 2017
News and updates for administrators from the past month (November 2017).
- Following a request for comment, a new section has been added to the username policy which disallows usernames containing emoji, emoticons or otherwise "decorative" usernames, and usernames that use any non-language symbols. Administrators should discuss issues related to these types of usernames before blocking.
- Wikimedians are now invited to vote on the proposals in the 2017 Community Wishlist Survey on Meta Wiki until 10 December 2017. In particular, there is a section of the survey regarding new tools for administrators and for anti-harassment.
- A new function is available to edit filter managers which can be used to store matches from regular expressions.
- Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is open until Sunday 23:59, 10 December 2017 (UTC). There are 12 candidates running for 8 vacant seats.
- Over the last few months, several users have reported backlogs that require administrator attention at WP:ANI, with the most common backlogs showing up on WP:SPI, WP:AIV and WP:RFPP. It is requested that all administrators take some time during this month to help clear backlogs wherever possible. It should be noted that AIV reports are not always valid; however, they still need to be cleared, which may include needing to remind users on what qualifies as vandalism.
- The Wikimedia Foundation Community health initiative is conducting a survey for English Wikipedia contributors on their experience and satisfaction level with Administrator’s Noticeboard/Incidents. This survey will be integral to gathering information about how this noticeboard works (i.e. which problems it deals with well and which problems it struggles with). If you would like to take this survey, please sign up on this page, and a link for the survey will be emailed to you via Special:EmailUser.
ArbCom 2017 election voter message
Hello, Avicennasis. Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 10 December. All users who registered an account before Saturday, 28 October 2017, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Wednesday, 1 November 2017 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2017 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 3 December 2017 (UTC)

This user appears on the list, which I believe is maintained by your bot, of users indefinitely blocked for using promotional usernames. He should not be there, as the block was a good faith error and the block has been removed. I could of course remove the name, but in view of the request at the top of the list page I believe I should pass the task to you. --Anthony Bradbury"talk" 10:47, 10 December 2017 (UTC)

New Page Reviewer Newsletter
Backlog update:
- The new page backlog is currently at 12713 pages. Please consider reviewing even just a few pages each day! If everyone helps out, it will really put a dent in the backlog.
- Currently the backlog stretches back to March and some pages in the backlog have passed the 90 day Google index point. Please consider reviewing some of them!
Outreach and Invitations:
- If you know other editors with a good understanding of Wikipedia policy, invite them to join NPP by dropping the invitation template on their talk page with:
{{subst:NPR invite}}
. Adding more qualified reviewers will help with keeping the backlog manageable.
New Year New Page Review Drive
- A backlog drive is planned for the start of the year, beginning on January 1st and running until the end of the month. Unique prizes will be given in tiers for both the total number of reviews made, as well as the longest 'streak' maintained.
- Note: quality reviewing is extremely important, please do not sacrifice quality for quantity.
General project update:
- ACTRIAL has resulted in a significant increase in the quality of new submissions, with noticeably fewer CSD, PROD, and BLPPROD candidates in the new page feed. However, the majority of the backlog still dates back to before ACTRIAL started, so consider reviewing articles from the middle or back of the backlog.
- The NPP Browser can help you quickly find articles with topics that you prefer to review from within the backlog.
- To keep up with the latest conversation on New Pages Patrol or to ask questions, you can go to Wikipedia talk:New pages patrol/Reviewers and add it to your watchlist.

New Years new page backlog drive
Announcing the NPP New Year Backlog Drive!
We have done amazing work so far in December to reduce the New Pages Feed backlog by over 3000 articles! Now is the time to capitalise on our momentum and help eliminate the backlog!
The backlog drive will begin on January 1st and run until January 29th. Prize tiers and other info can be found HERE.
Awards will be given in tiers in two categories:
- The total number of reviews completed for the month.
- The minimum weekly total maintained for all four weeks of the backlog drive.
NOTE: It is extremely important that we focus on quality reviewing. Despite our goal of reducing the backlog as much as possible, please do not rush while reviewing.
