Question about Colorado maps

edit

I'm curious about maps like Image:Colorado 1 Map.png. The lines for counties and Interstates look very similar to those used by CDOT, such as on [1]. Is this coincidental, or did you take a CDOT map and add lines? --NE2 09:32, 13 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Unfortunately, works of state governments are not usually public domain. --NE2 06:05, 14 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, or I can do it. Your choice. --NE2 08:06, 14 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Reversion

edit

Thank you for notifying me - I didn't realize there was more than one user vandalise it. The fact that the two vandalized version were two and a half hours apart with no reversion is also slightly worrying...

Thank you for fixing the page. Bobo. 19:45, 8 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Periodic table fixes

edit

I'm told you're the guru who fixes periodic tables for specific element illustrations. We have at least two problems: one is that lithium needs a box, and another than iodine needs 74 neutrons, not "76N." More as I find them. Thanks! SBHarris 05:19, 14 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

The problem is lithium doesn't have a black border to show location-- just a slight color change, which isn't obvious and doesn't fit with style of the others. The iodine problem is the NUMBER of neutrons is wrong. It's 74 for the only stable isotope, not 76. I've raised a question at Wikielement group about even having this N number appear at all, since it's a choice thing, and makes it look like a single number for most elements, which of course it isn't. And it take more space to explain we're using the number for the most common isotope existing in nature, than it's worth. That info is in the isotope boxes. Thanks! FHWA samples

edit

Hello, the five font samples listed at FHWA Series fonts#Samples seem to have accidentally gotten "by" instead of "my." The "m" is not represented. Davewho2 (talk) 03:28, 27 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Just saw that someone already mentioned it in your archive. I wouldn't mind re-creating them myself, but I don't have the font files. Davewho2 (talk) 03:33, 27 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia:Wikipedia Loves Art

edit

First off, I apologize for the spam. You are receiving this message because you have indicated that you are in Southern California or interested in Southern California topics (either via category or WikiProject).

I would like to invite you to the Los Angeles edition of Wikipedia:Wikipedia Loves Art, a photography scavenger hunt to be held at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) on Saturday, February 28, 2009, from 1:00 to 7:00 PM. All photos are intended for use in Wikipedia articles or on Wikimedia Commons. There will be a prize available for the person who gets the most photos on the list.

If you don't like art, why not come just to meet your fellow Wikipedians. Apparently, we haven't had a meetup in this area since June 2006!

If you are interested in attending, please add your name to Wikipedia:Wikipedia Loves Art#Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Please make a note if you are traveling to the area (train or plane) and need transportation, which can probably be arranged via carpool, but we need time to coordinate. Lodging is as of right now out of scope, but we could discuss that if enough people are interested.

Thank you and I hope to see you there! howcheng {chat} 23:32, 9 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Requested modification to typeface samples

edit

Hi, Atanamir. I came across some samples of the FHWA Series fonts you made:

All of these samples say, "Jackdaws love by big sphinx of quartz." This seems to contain a typo—the usual sentence is "Jackdaws love my big sphinx of quartz," so that it makes grammatical sense and so that it is a pangram. If you have an opportunity, could you fix the sentences in these images? —Bkell (talk) 02:18, 14 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

I came here with the same request. It is more than just the grammatical sense, of course. By using "by" instead of "my", the sentence is no longer the pangram it is intended to be, and the letter "m" is missing! DjR (talk) 07:41, 11 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

WikiProject Colorado

edit

The year 2011 has brought many changes to the State of Colorado. Several users have asked us to reactivate WikiProject Colorado. We have a new Governor and other state officers, two new U.S. Representatives, many new state legislators, and a new Mayor of Denver. Many articles about Colorado need to be updated and many Colorado places, people, and organizations need new articles. Portal:Colorado needs some new featured articles.

Can you help us? Please see our list of some requested articles. If you would like to remain an active member of WikiProject Colorado, please leave me a message at User talk:Buaidh or e-mail me at Special:EmailUser/Buaidh. If you cannot help right now, you can go to inactive status and then reactivate your status later. Thanks for any help you can provide. Yours aye,  Buaidh  16:38, 14 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

A tag has been placed on Template:Ohio highways requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).

Suggestion for WikiProject United States to support WikiProject Colorado

edit

It was recently suggested that WikiProject Colorado, to which you are a member, may be inactive or semi-active and it might be beneficial to include it in the list of projects supported by WikiProject United States. After reviewing the project it appears that there haven't been much active discussion on the talk page in some time and the only content updates appear to be simple maintenance so being supported by a larger project might be beneficial. I have begun a discussion on the projects talk page to see how the members of the project feel about this suggestion. Another user has added the project to the WPUS template and I added it to the list of supported projects in the WPUS main project page but before I take any further action I wanted to contact each of the active members for their input. --Kumioko (talk) 23:30, 7 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
