Mgp28 (talk) 17:18, 26 July 2024 (UTC)- The title of the article shows up on Wikipedia as "Mikhail Nasrallah" instead of "Mikhail E. Nasrallah". Can this be corrected? Thank you Ashoak2023 (talk) 11:34, 9 August 2024 (UTC)
- Hello, Use of middle initials in article titles is covered by the WP:MIDDLENAME guideline. That says to use the middle initial if that's the most common form used in reliable sources. The article doesn't currently have many sources referring to him in the third person, but https://cals.cornell.edu/mikhail-nasrallah and https://www.aub.edu.lb/maingate/Documents/v7_2008-2009_no1-4_pt4.pdf both call him Mikhail Nasrallah. Do you have sources calling him Mikhail E. Nasrallah? Mgp28 (talk) 08:46, 10 August 2024 (UTC)
- All Nasrallah's publications use Mikhail E. Nasrallah as author (abbreviated as M.E. Nasrallah in citations) Ashoak2023 (talk) 11:20, 13 August 2024 (UTC)
- I think that's very common for scholarly publications, but most academics still have their name in the <First name> <Last name> format, as per Wikipedia:Naming conventions (people). Also, I'll point out that Mikhail E. Nasrallah redirects to Mikhail Nasrallah, so anyone searching for that name will find the article.
- If you still think the middle initial is needed, I suggest starting a discussion at Talk:Mikhail Nasrallah where it should be seen by more people. Mgp28 (talk) 17:27, 13 August 2024 (UTC)
- Wikipedia:Requested moves#Requesting a single page move has instructions on how to request a page move. Mgp28 (talk) 17:57, 13 August 2024 (UTC)
