Page moves
edit(copied from the project talk page) If convinced that a move to a different title over a redirect is appropriate, make a request at Wikipedia:Requested moves. An admin will need to delete the redirect to make way for the move. Wikipedia:Naming_conventions#Prefer_singular_nouns seems to support, for example, DNA glycosylase over DNA glycosylases... — Scientizzle 19:48, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
FYI, you may be interested to see that Ashley Todd was speedily deleted using CSD:G10 as the justification: "exists primarily to disparage its subject." I happen to disagree with this decision as the article was neutral and nothing on the AfD page implied it as an "attack" page, and content that this is out of process. I encourage you to chime in if you have an opinion either way at User_talk:Orderinchaos#Out_of_order_deletion_of_Ashley_Todd. Thanks. -- Fuzheado | Talk 21:05, 24 October 2008 (UTC)
Looking for input on 'Homologous recombination'
editI saw on WP:MCB that one of your interests is DNA repair, so I thought to ask you for some feedback on homologous recombination. If you could leave any comments on the discussion page or the ongoing peer review, I'd greatly appreciate it. Emw2012 (talk) 21:26, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
File copyright problem with File:BER basic pathway.svg
editThank you for uploading File:BER basic pathway.svg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NW (Talk) 21:01, 11 July 2009 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of The Besties
editA tag has been placed on The Besties requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Credit Report Comparison AFD Comment
editAll I'm trying to say is that these kinds of articles create a slippery slope that will eventually lead to articles comparing Dog Grooming Services in Dallas, Mesothelioma attorneys in Wisconson or Pest Control in Pittsburgh. If you can't understand why these articles create a compelling interest for spammers then don't call me stupid when you're editing out competitor sabotage, link spam and libel. Monochrome BBS - thanks
editThanks for your efforts to save this article ... I feel a bit sad that it's gone but, blimey, finding stuff on it ... not easy. I even emailed a couple of people who I believe used to know things, and tried to elicit help on Mono itself and elsewhere - no luck anywhere. So I guess it's kind-of fair enough, really, that it's been zapped. If someone suddenly finds a whole raft of superb citeable references I guess we can always recreate it! Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
