Speedy deletion nomination of User:Amasssaudi/sandbox
editA tag has been placed on your user page, User:Amasssaudi/sandbox, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be advertising which only promotes or publicises someone or something. Promotional editing of any kind is not permitted, whether it be promotion of a person, company, product, group, service, belief, or anything else. This is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages — user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources or advertising space. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. – NJD-DE (talk) 12:06, 15 May 2022 (UTC)

Hello, I'm Deb. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you.
Anyone with a conflict of interest must avoid or exercise great caution when:
- editing articles related to you, your family or colleagues, your organization or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with,
- participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors,
- linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam);
- and you must always:
- avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially neutral point of view, verifiability, and autobiography.
Note that you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure. Even if you are not being paid, you are expected to disclose any close connection with the subject of the article, using the connected contributor template.
For more details about what constitutes a conflict of interest, please see Wikipedia:Conflict of Interest. Thank you.Deb (talk) 12:56, 15 May 2022 (UTC)

- The whole thing! Please see below.
Hello, Amasssaudi. Thank you for helping to build Wikipedia-- the world's largest free content encyclopedia. The page User:Amasssaudi/sandbox has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seemed to be unambiguous advertising which only promoted a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to have been fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
This article needs to be rewritten from scratch from reliable, third party sources unconnected to the subject. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia. It is not an outlet for promotion, advocacy, or advertising.
Information on content and common pitfalls to avoid can be located here and here, however be aware that this is not an exhaustive list. Pages can sometimes avoid these pitfalls and still be seen as an ad copy or unambiguously promotional, particularly if the editor appears to be a paid editor or has some other conflict of interest. Please review these policies, including the FAQ page on organizations to determine if this applies to you.
Common mistakes or beliefs about promotional editing center on the assumption that promotional editing only applies to promotion for commercial gain. Some tags or G11 nominations are met with confusion by creators, particularly if they spend much time reading or creating corporate documents, mission/vision statements, or similar copy for their organization. The frequent exposure to promotional tone may make it difficult to notice non-neutral phrases or styles, as the editor has grown accustomed to seeing it as everyday writing or speech. This can be difficult, but not impossible, to unlearn.
Another common assumption is that the prohibition against promotional editing applies only to businesses or organizations. Anything can be promoted, including a person, a non-commercial organization, a point of view, etc. and CV/resumé's are by their nature promotional.
Wikipedia is an encyclopedia-- subjects must meet notability guidelines with reliable sources that are unconnected with the subject and providing verifiable information. That generally means someone unconnected with the subject needs to have written a great deal about the subject. Please see this page on citing sources. This page has templates you can use in citing your sources. Place the template {{Reflist}} at the bottom of the page, and references cited in the text will appear there. New article creation can be difficult, but the Article Wizard can help you. The new user tutorial can help you avoid future problems. You can also ask for help at the TEAHOUSE and on IRC chat.

Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Foobar Museum of Art". However, you are permitted to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you individually (not your role), such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".

- I'm sorry, but this is still a WP:CORPNAME "Because Wikipedia's policy is that usernames should not be shared between more than one individual, the following types of usernames are not permitted because they imply shared use:
- Usernames that are simply names of companies or groups are not permitted (these also fall under Promotional names).
- Personal usernames that imply shared access, such as "Jack and Jill", are not permitted.
- Usernames that are names of posts within organizations, such as "Secretary of the XY Foundation", are not permitted, as such a post may be held by different persons at different times.
- However, usernames are acceptable if they contain a company or group name but are clearly intended to denote an individual person, such as "Mark at WidgetsUSA", "Jack Smith at the XY Foundation", "WidgetFan87", etc." --Deepfriedokra (talk) 10:07, 18 May 2022 (UTC)

Creating an article
editHi Amassaudi! I saw your comment here at Talk:Steven Pruitt and I wanted to explain why I undid it. [1] Talk pages are for discussions about how to improve that specific article. It's no big deal, just something to keep in mind for the future! In regards to wanting to create an article, there's some good advice at this page. If you have a conflict of interest with this organization, you should submit the article through the Wikipedia:Articles for Creation process. If you're being paid for your edits in any capacity, you must disclose that.
As I was writing this message, I see that you were blocked. The reason given by the blocking adminstrator was that you were only here for advertising or spam. I'd suggest reading what Wikipedia is about here. Indefinite blocks aren't nessecarily for forever. It is possible to fill out an unblock request and be unblocked. I can help give you instructions on how to do that if you don't know how to. Clovermoss (talk) 16:01, 18 May 2022 (UTC)
- I will also say that in order for articles to be included on Wikipedia, they need to be meet Wikipedia's standards for inclusion. There isn't an article for everything that nessecarily exists. The gist is that there needs to be reliable sources like newspapers covering an organization that are not affiliated with it. These sources don't need to be in English, they can be in any language. If your organization does not qualify under this criteria, unfortunately we would not be able to have an article on it, as an encyclopedia is not for promoting specific causes and is for neutral information about encyclopedic topics. I will say that providing support to cancer patients is something I agree with and I wish you the best of luck in your endeavours. Something like a social media account may help with letting more people know about what you do. Clovermoss (talk) 16:12, 18 May 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks Clovermoss,
- Can you please help me to publish the write up abut our nonprofit organization.
- It is not advertorial nor promoting our organization, so happened that I included what our organization activities.
- AMASS Association Friends of Cancer Patients (Arabic Name: جمعية أصدقاء مرضى السرطان -the Arabic word “AMASS” means in need of help and assistance) is a Saudi Arabian volunteer-based, non-profit, charitable organization.
- The association established by Mr. Saeed Mobarak Almordi as the Founding Chairman in 2019 to provide the psychological and moral support to cancer patients and their families, and to educate and spread health awareness to the community about the disease and the importance of early detection. The Headquarter is located in Olaya District, Al-Takhassusi Street, Building No. 170 Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
- We have a lot of references that this organization is notable www.amass.org.sa recognized by the Saudi Organization because of their benevolent deeds. I am not receiving any payments for this nor accepting gift.
- Hoping that you are able to help us please.

- You wrote to me saying: "The gist is that there needs to be reliable sources like newspapers covering an organization that are not affiliated with it."
- Below are links to independent newspaper articles which I hope meet your requirement.
- Please would you help us get a Wikipedia page for our Association given the trust that renown newspapers in the Kingdom are recognizing us.

- Yes please, can you help us to unblock our page as we are going to revise our article. Thanks Clovermoss Amasssaudi (talk) 05:33, 19 May 2022 (UTC)
- I can't unblock you, but you can fill out an unblock request for someone to look at. The way to do that is to read the guide to appealing blocks and copying the curly brackets in the block message a few sections above this comment and filling in your reason where reason= is. I will say that if you are unblocked, you will likely have to change your username to follow our username policy. Also, to make sure that an account is only operated by an individual instead of a group, because some of your language implies the latter? In regards to promoting an organization... I'm not quite sure you understood what I was trying to say? I'm not sure what the Saudi Organization is, but if it's independant of your organization and is considered a reliable source, that's a good start. Read Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies) which I linked above for examples about what I mean. As an encylopedia, articles are suppossed to be written mostly citing information from non-primary sources. So you'd need sources like that. If there aren't sources like that, unfortunately there can't be an article. Again, I do wish you luck with supporting cancer patients (and still suggest checking out social media options that are available to you!), but Wikipedia isn't really for promoting any specific cause. Clovermoss (talk) 11:01, 19 May 2022 (UTC)
- hi Clovermoss, I already fill the form to appeal to unblock my account. Appeal Key already provided and submitted. awaiting their response.
- Regards, Amasssaudi (talk) 11:08, 19 May 2022 (UTC)
- I see that you replied to the blocking adminstrator, but unblock requests are typically reviewed by someone else. You need to copy the curly brackets and the text within to fill out an unblock request so that someone can see it. I will say that you're unlikely to be unblocked unless you can provide a convincing reason that you are here to build an encyclopedia. Clovermoss (talk) 11:17, 19 May 2022 (UTC)
