  Please stop your disruptive editing.

If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Henry Cavill, you may be blocked from editing. – 2.O.Boxing 13:04, 5 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at John Bercow. and Pinewood Studios --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 20:52, 17 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for persistently making disruptive edits.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Ad Orientem (talk) 21:06, 17 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

How is making grammatical corrections a reason for permanent block? This seems extremely unusual. Specifically in regards to the Henry Cavil page - I hadn't seen the hidden notes. I didnt even know that was such a thing. I'll look for them in the future

Decline reason:

You weren't making grammatical corrections; let's not be disingenuous. --jpgordon𝄢𝄆𝄐𝄇 20:23, 3 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

  • Nope This is not fixing grammar. This is deliberate POV editing for which you were repeatedly warned and you even deleted numerous warnings from your page w/o responding to them. Almost every edit you made has been reverted. Strongly Oppose Unblock Request -Ad Orientem (talk) 19:03, 3 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
    • @User:Jpgordon, User:Ad Orientem,
    • "almost every edit you made has been reverted."
    • An odd statement, considering all of my edits were systematically reverted by both you (Ad Orientem) and John Maynard Friedman. Targeting someone's edit history and reverting all of their edits, then implying the fact that because the edits have been reverted (by you) means they somehow weren't valid to begin with sure doesn't seem very fair to me. Neither does a permanent IP block for simple grammatical corrections. @User:Jpgordon - how is it NOT a grammatical correction? This is all very unusual. Please rereview.

Request reason:

Is the six month timeframe from the "Standard Offer" mandatory or flexible? The block reasoning still baffles me, and I still haven't been able to find any rules that prohibit the edits I made - but regardless I still I accept that they're against the rules and will try to be more cautious in the future

Decline reason:

This isn't an unblock request. WP:SO requires six months with zero edits. That's not just zero edits under this account, that's zero edits from you yourself. At that time, you'll also need to explain why your edits were inappropriate. Yamla (talk) 21:18, 7 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Not an admin, however...

edit

Hey there! I was patrolling Special:RecentChanges when I noticed that you were blocked and are trying to get it appealed. In this case, I will give you the WP:SO: go six months w/out editing on the English Wikipedia, edit on another WMF project (I suggest the Simple English Wikipedia) for those six months, and then after those six months go out, make another unblock request. This time, promise to the reviewing admin that you can in fact make constructive edits to Wikipedia, and show them proof with your edits to the SE Wikipedia. Cheers! It isn't just my account thats blocked, I've been IP blocked as well AlabanJustatribute (talk) 19:14, 4 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
That doesn't change the WP:SO. It's still out there, and if you want to take it you may. Cheers! Fakescientist8000 22:37, 4 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
Blocks on accounts almost always block the underlying IP to prevent block evasion. The block is on you as a person, not just your account. The IP block will be removed when your account is unblocked. 331dot (talk) 21:17, 7 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I was told to wait 6 months and try again. I was previously blocked for failing to understand the general rules of editing; specifically making the same edit twice after another user reverted it

Decline reason:

No, "making the same edit twice after another user reverted it" is not why you were blocked. The good news is there's no evidence of block evasion, the bad news is that you don't seem to understand the problem here. Yamla (talk) 10:23, 5 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

My reasoning for being blocked was deliberate POV editing for which I was repeatedly warned and even deleted numerous warnings from your page w/o responding to them. Almost every edit I made has been reverted.

Decline reason:

Yes, those were reasons to block you. I don't understand why you offer them as reasons to unblock you? Disruptive editing is not a good reason for unblocking. You need to tell us why we should believe you'll make constructive edits in the future. Have you, for example, followed User:Fakescientist8000's advice above and edited on another WMF project while you've been blocked here? Bishonen | tålk 16:49, 30 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

" I guess I'm not sure what a WMF project is or how I can make edits while being banned. As for unblock reasons, I had previously indicated I was unaware of the talk/notes page and promised to review it in the future to see if potential edits are already being discussed on it. I have also said I was very unfamiliar with the rules, and after being blocked I spent several hours reading up on wiki policy pages (to be completely honest I'm still not 100% sure as many seem very vague, but at the very least I know where to go now to ask questions if issues arise)

Accept reason:

  • I'll leave this review to another admin, but I'd better tell you a few things. The Wikimedia Foundation (WMF) supports not only Wikipedias in many languages, but also "sister projects", as listed on the main page and at WP:SISTER. There is also the Simple English Wikipedia, which Fakescientist8000 mentioned. You are only blocked from the English Wikipedia, not from any other project, so there's nothing stopping you from editing these others. To strengthen an unblock appeal, you could then link to edits that you have made to other projects, to show that you're competent to edit the English Wikipedia without disruption. The very least thing you must do in an unblock appeal is tell us that you intend to do your best to edit constructively going forward, and to ask for help when in doubt if an edit is good or not. Bishonen | tålk 18:55, 30 July 2024 (UTC).Reply
  • Yes I did earlier but I should have also included it in each subsequent unblock request: Yes I intend to edit constructively and if I'm uncertain of any rules I'll make sure to ask before editing --AlabanJustatribute (talk) 19:30, 30 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
Has there been any updates on this? AlabanJustatribute (talk) 23:05, 9 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
I've converted your last unblock request into a regular comment. You should have only one open unblock request at a time.
There is no deadline for unblock requests to be reviewed. Like all other Wikipedia users, admins are volunteers. Your request is only one in a long queue of requests. There is nothing left for you to do except wait your turn, however long that takes. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 14:15, 10 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
If you get unblocked, and you make an edit that someone reverts, what will you do? Elli (talk | contribs) 15:50, 8 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
Use the talk page if its an edit I still think is appropriate AlabanJustatribute (talk) 21:36, 10 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
Ad Orientem thoughts on a second chance here? Seems reasonable, and they've gone for quite a long time without editing or socking. Elli (talk | contribs) 00:00, 11 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
@AlabanJustatribute You have been unlocked per your request. I will append a template below with links to helpful pages and guides. -Ad Orientem (talk) 02:34, 11 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

To get some practice editing you can use a sandbox. You can create your own personal sandbox for use any time. It's perfect for working on bigger projects. Then for easy access in the future, you can put {{My sandbox}} on your user page. By the way, seeing as you haven't created a user page yet, simply click here to start it.

Please remember to:

  • Always sign your posts on talk pages. You can do this either by clicking on the   button on the edit toolbar or by typing four tildes ~~~~ at the end of your post. This will automatically insert your signature, a link to your talk page, and a timestamp.
  • Leave descriptive edit summaries for your edits. Doing so helps other editors understand what changes you have made and why you made them.
