Welcome to Wikipedia, Aislynnee! I'm GraziePrego, and I've been assigned as your mentor. About half of new Wikipedia accounts receive a mentor chosen randomly from a list of volunteers. It just means I'm here to help with anything you need! We need to have all kinds of people working together to create an online encyclopedia, so I'm glad you're here. Over time, you will figure out what you enjoy doing the most on Wikipedia.
You might have noticed that you have access to a tutorial and suggested edits. It's recommended that you take advantage of this, as it'll make learning how to edit Wikipedia easier.
If you need assistance with anything or have any questions, click on the "Get editing help" button on the bottom right corner of your screen. This will open up a module with links to help pages and a place to ask me questions. You can also ask me questions directly on my talk page, or go here to get help from the wider community.

- Hi GraziePrego, thank you for the warm welcome! I'm am quite new to editing on wikipedia, so I'm really trying my best here. I hope I'm doing a good job so far ^_^; I've been mostly working on adding links for where I can. I want to give a try on copyedits but I've been a bit worried about starting them. Any tips you have are greatly appreciated, as well as if you have any critiques now or in the future they would be warmly welcomed! Aislynnee (talk) 04:51, 3 September 2024 (UTC)
- You are doing excellently so far! :3 Adding links is a great way to start so you're already making good contributions.
- Copyediting is both excellent and a little daunting I agree- the best way to go about it is to read through an article/paragraph and feel whether it flows nicely. I like to read it aloud to myself. Sometimes it's really clear cut where you can use a better word or something, but also sometimes you may find it's better to change the structure of a sentence. The best way to do it is to be bold and go for it, which is exactly what you are doing! :)
- The Guild of Copy Editors is a great place if you want a bit more info about copyediting, and they're certainly the experts :3
