Did you read the talk section about the article barnstar? If it was a "blatant advertisement" it would not have included to global repercussions of the inevitable water shortage on earth. And secondly, did you glance at the article referred to in the talk section? If an article containing nothing but company info and a commercial site link is not advertising then I must have greatly misunderstood the hypocritical standards of wikipedia contributions.
