Thanks for starting the article on David Hill--I'm surprised there wasn't one already. I cleaned it up and added some categories. I hope you like the changes. If you have any sources for the information, that would be great. Ask me if you need help with citations. Katr67 16:04, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for providing references so quickly. I formatted them, take a look. If you're interested in Oregon stuff you might want to consider joining WikiProject Oregon. Happy editing! Katr67 22:21, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
Are you planning to add anything more to Reedville? Last time I tried in good faith to spruce up an article about a small town in Oregon the person got really mad at me, so I wanted to ask before I add some historic info from Oregon Geographic Names, etc. Thanks, Katr67 00:33, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
Would you like to write an article on Orenco Station that differentiates between the development and the former community, of Orenco, Oregon? I've been too lazy to do it and you are going gangbusters on the Hillsboro stuff so I thought you would like to do it. Great pic of Harvey BTW! (and all your other pics too) Katr67 15:36, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for the explanation. Yeah original research is frowned on. I was thinking of making a stub for Orenco Station, but I probably wouldn't add enough material to justify separating it from Orenco, Oregon for now, so I'll leave it alone. Would it be safe to say say "The former community of Orenco now forms the Orenco neighborhood in Hillsboro, which is the site of the Orenco Station housing development"? - You're welcome about Old Scotch Church most of the credit goes to the NRHP infobox. I listed the article on the NRHP project page too. Hmm. References from plates, huh? I don't know if you can use those. If I were you I would take whatever info is on the plates and type it into Google and see if there is anything there. But maybe you could take a photo of the plates and stick them in the article too. Katr67 03:32, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
Hey, one of these days do you think you could take some pictures at Mission Mill? I'd like to spruce up the article but it really needs some photos. Thanks! Katr67 19:22, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
You rock for writing this article! It's always bugged me that she redirected to Marcus Whitman. Katr67 23:51, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
You might be interested to know that EngineerScotty started this subpage of the Oregon WikiProject: Wikipedia:WikiProject Oregon/History of Oregon. As he says here, we need that article if we ever want to get the Oregon article to featured status. Katr67 23:57, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

For doing more in the subject area of Oregon in one month than I have managed to accomplish in six, including writing several long-needed articles and whipping up a bunch of handy infoboxes. Katr67 20:48, 1 December 2006 (UTC) |
Oregon Pioneer template - size issue
Hi. I'm one of the contributors to this page, providing the BPOV or BCPOV stuff, although more yet someday but I keep "watch" on this page. I have reservations about the size and colour-dominance of your Oregon Pioneer History template; the Oregon boundary dispute is not just Oregon's history but also that of Washington and ID-MT, but also it's part of Canadian and BC and British history; other topics relating to Oregon's history (and primarily Oregon state's history, as the older sense of "Oregon" is already covered under the Category:Oregon Country category. If there was a similar template for BC, another for British diplomatic history, and another for Canadian history, another for Canadian-US relations/boundary disputes, another for etc., the collection of templates would wind up being larger than the article. The strong brown graphic element also draws the eye away from the article content; I've always been indifferent to templates, even ones light on the eye; but especially when there's more than one possible template that could be placed on a page they're just a way to add clutter; categories work better for navigation anyway IMO.Skookum1 09:27, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
Gray and Columbia
Greetings. Thanks for your contribution of "Gray Sails the Columbia River". I think, though, that it would be better to merge that material into the article on Gray. I've written some more about that, on the "Sails" article talk-page, and seek your concurrence.
