Wikipedia is not for writing about yourself

Welcome to Wikipedia, but it is not a social-networking site like Facebook or LinkedIn for people to write about themselves. It is a quite different sort of site, a project to build an encyclopedia, so it is selective about subjects for articles, and writing about oneself is strongly discouraged, for reasons explained at Wikipedia is not about YOU and Wikipedia:Autobiography.

Wikipedia user pages are not like those at social-networking sites. Their use is explained at WP:NOTWEBHOST:

"Wikipedians have their own user pages, but they should be used primarily to present information relevant to working on the encyclopedia. Limited biographical information is allowed, but user pages should not function as personal webpages or be repositories for large amounts of material that is irrelevant to collaborating on Wikipedia. If you are looking to make a personal webpage or blog or to post your résumé, please make use of one of the many free providers on the Internet or any hosting included with your Internet account."

Reply to your message on my talk page

You asked: "how can we create an article for Mr Abhishek Omprakash Mishra". The answer is that unless he is notable in Wikipedia's special sense, you can't. Wikipedia :Notability is the test for inclusion, and is not a matter of opinion but has to be demonstrated by references showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." Significant means more than just listing-type mentions; reliable excludes Youtube, Facebook, blogs, places where anyone can post anything; independent excludes the subject's own website, affiliated ones and anything based on press releases. The test is, have people not connected with the subject thought it significant enough to write substantial comment about? See also Wikipedia:Notability (summary), and for writers WP:CREATIVE.

Now, read again what I wrote just above. If you are Abhishek Omprakash Mishra, you are strongly discouraged from writing about yourself, for reasons explained at Wikipedia:Autobiography. One thing you should understand is that if an article is accepted, you will not OWN it as you would on a social-networking site: others can and will edit it, and you will not be able to insist on your preferred version. (If you are not Mishra, please apply at WP:changing username for a different username).

If you stillwant to proceed, what you should do is:

• Read WP:Your first article.
• Think hard about notability, because if you cannot show it, you will be wasting your time.
• Collect references showing significant coverage in reliable independent sources.
• Use WP:Articles for creation to guide you through the process, and choose the option to send the draft for review by an experienced user, who will either accept it or give you feedback. If you post it directly, and it is not suitable, it is likely to be deleted again.
• Write in neutral, non-promotional style, with no "peacock terms", plain facts of what he has achieved, cited to reliable sources, basing the article on what others say about Mishra, not what he says about himself.

How to change username

Please do not move your user and talk pages to a new title - that does not rename your account, and only causes confusion. If you want to change your username so that "omprakash" has an upper-case "O", please apply at WP:Changing username.
