Hi! I see your submission was rejected. Would it be OK with you if I edit the article and add some sources and more information relevant to notability? I thought it would be best to ask first, in case you are also in the process of improving the article offline. As I understand it, the subject of the article is a member of the German federal parliament and a member of Merkel's cabinet, so establishing notability as a politician should not really be a problem, even if there may not be any English-language sources. --Boson (talk) 20:32, 10 February 2016 (UTC)

New draft
editI see you have created a new draft at Draft:Rita Schwarzelühr Sutter, as well as the old one at Draft:Rita Schwarzelühr-Sutter. Since the old name is correct, I would suggest concentrating on that draft and abandoning the new one (Draft:Rita Schwarzelühr Sutter). I have proposed doing this by merging the two (see the tags at the top of the two drafts and the link to the merge discussion at Talk draft:Rita Schwarzelühr Sutter). I have now (roughly) translated the German article (de: Rita Schwarzelühr Sutter) and added references to reliable independent sources, including national and regional newspapers.
Take a look at the new version of Draft:Rita Schwarzelühr-Sutter and feel free to resubmit after checking the references. Let me know if you need any assistance; I am a bit busy but will get back to you as soon as possible.
Just a few tips:
- Although English sources are obviously preferred for an English language encyclopedia, there is no problem with using German sources.
- Notability is not the same as importance. Notability within the meaning of Wikipedia policies and guidelines is generally related to the coverage of the subject by independent sources, as described in the general notability guidelines. Sources conected to the subject can be used for some purposes, but do not normally help to establish notability. So sources like reputable regional and national newspapers and news magazines are usually good sources for contemporary politicians.
I have added the information that Rita Schwarzelühr-Sutter is in Merkel's cabinet to the introduction. This helps establish importance and notability as a politician.
Creating an account would help communication. For instance, you could then be "pinged" on talk pages, and you can set your notification preferences. --Boson (talk) 15:38, 19 February 2016 (UTC)
