Changes to two sections
editThis edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
May I request that the section headed "Contract negotiations with The New York Times" be changed to begin: "During union contract negotiations that began in 2010, McNeil worked to make the journalists in the Newspaper Guild more militant in their approach to The New York Times."

((This both explains my role in the aforementioned "brief walkout" of Oct 2012 and also adds context to the Times decision to oust me in 2021. The reason I say "the journalists in..." is that the Guild also represents advertising workers, security guards and other employees, but my efforts were all directed at my newsroom colleagues, who had lost interest in the union))
May I also request two changes in the next section headed "Dismissal From The New York Times" 1. "Dismissal" is inaccurate. I wasn't dismissed. I resigned under pressure. Something like "Ouster" or "Departure" would be more accurate. 2. At the end of that section, could you add: "After his departure from The Times, McNeil continued to publish articles on Medium about Covid, monkeypox and other diseases." - Hi, I am closing this request because I am unsure of which article you would like changed. Please post your request on the article's talk page. Also, the second source (https://donaldgmcneiljr1954.medium.com/) cannot be used on Wikipedia because it is not considered reliable. Z1720 (talk) 13:43, 23 December 2022 (UTC)
