editHello, I'm Ghent123. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Sol Invictus have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk. Thanks. Ghent123 (talk) 21:38, 16 December 2024 (UTC)
- It is not sol Invictus in that Tomb. I am an archeologist who works at the vatican and we all agree its Apollo so that is why I changed it 2.32.6.171 (talk) 15:20, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
Please stop. If you continue to blank out or remove portions of page content, templates, or other materials from Wikipedia without adequate explanation, as you did at Tomb of the Julii, you may be blocked from editing. AntiDionysius (talk) 15:46, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
- I have given so many explanations but you refuse to listen. You are not an archeologist so how could you even know if you are correct. I work at the vatican and literally you can take a tour with me to see its Apollo. All of the sources are old as this tomb was studied a long time ago, but now I and my colleagues agree its Apollo. I implore to read literally any source about the Tardo period in Rome and it will confirm what I say which is that Invictus Sol was not used. 2.32.6.171 (talk) 15:49, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
- As explained to you above, you need to work this out on the article talk page. You being an "archaeologist in the Vatican" does not confer any additional authority upon you on Wikipedia. AntiDionysius (talk) 15:52, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
- It’s because I work there how do you not understand that. I literally see this mosaic every single day. 2.32.6.171 (talk) 15:53, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
- I understand that you say you work there. I am telling you that that doesn't give you editorial control over the Wikipedia page. AntiDionysius (talk) 15:54, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
- Then how do you have control to change it back??? 2.32.6.171 (talk) 15:55, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
- Because you have not obtained consensus for your removal of sources. Wikipedia works by consensus.
- I am not an expert in archaeology, and it is quite possible you are correct that the page should ultimately be changed. But in order for that to happen, you need to produce sources and make a good case for why the existing sources are wrong, via a discussion on the talk page. No one is saying you cannot possibly be right - we are asking you to go through the proper procedure. AntiDionysius (talk) 15:58, 18 December 2024 (UTC)

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Tomb of the Julii. AntiDionysius (talk) 15:53, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
- I’m going to keep editing it until you leave it since it’s correct. You should come to Rome and take the tour they will tell you it’s Apollo. 2.32.6.171 (talk) 15:55, 18 December 2024 (UTC)

- Brent describes this type of Roman iconography as a desire to depict “a synthesis of imperial order and divine order,” rooted in the emperor Aurelian’s championing of the cult of Sol Invictus, who could also be identified with Apollo. For Brent, by synthesising Christ with the sun god, the later Christian owners of the tomb wished to tap into a Roman expression of cosmic order and portray their own saviour as firmly in control of this (Cyprian and Roman Carthage, p. 229-230). 2.32.6.171 (talk) 16:05, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
