editHello. Some of your recent changes, such as the ones you made to screamo, have conflicted with our neutral point of view and verifiability policies. While we invite all users to contribute constructively to Wikipedia, we urge all editors to provide reliable sources for edits made. When others disagree, we recommend you seek consensus for certain edits by discussing the matter on the article's talk page. Changes without consensus or sources to back up will be reverted. Per WP:NPOV, WP:CITE, and WP:CONS Issan Sumisu (talk) 21:40, 8 February 2018 (UTC)
Much of the information is from the same Alternative Press article; too much information from the same source; also Crunkcore is not a screamo subgenre, but another musical genre with screaming. If that was the case there would be a ton of music genres added to the page ;)
Assuming you're talking about the "pop screamo" section, there is in fact five sources backing that information up. And while I also agree that crunkcore shouldn't be included as derivative simply because it includes screaming, that is unfortunately sourced and thus removing it conflicts with our neutral point of view Issan Sumisu (talk) 21:48, 8 February 2018 (UTC)
Alterntaive Press is not a credible source. And really there were 2 soruces as Alt Press was extremely oversourced. For a consensus on Crunkcore Go on some Skramz forums and ask the same question and you'll see :) Also by that logic we should include Nu Metal, Death Metal, Hardcore and everything else! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Brandon Rohan Music (talk • contribs) 21:57, 8 February 2018 (UTC)
Alternative Press is considered a reliable source as well as the other sources that backup pop screamo's inclusion (MTV and Metal Sucks) and crunkcore's inclusion (The Guardian, Though co., The Badger Herald and Student Life). Furthermore, consensus on forums external to Wikipedia does not have any impact and does not hold up on Wikipedia itself. Issan Sumisu (talk) 22:06, 8 February 2018 (UTC)
Okay! I think I see where you are coming from - while I will uphold that mainstream publications or publications about METAL (screamo is not a Metal subgenre) do not have the most researched information or understanding of Screamo - I see you have based your criteria on the existence of sources which this information may appear to have. But "Screamo" is mentioned in name only by the writers. What I meant by "proof" was interviews of Crunkcore band members listing or citing Screamo bands as influences on them and for this, there is no evidence that I have yet to see documented to prove any link between Screamo and Crunkcore anymore than say Nu Metal. Keep in mind there are many sources that list Bring Me the Horizon and Asking Alexandria as Screamo when they are not and when you look at influences they cite in documented interviews they are not Screamo bands who were their influencers. It's the same thing with these "Crunkcore" bands. If you can find an interview that has Crunkcore members citing Screamo bands than that is good enough proof, however, until then such a link has yet to be proved and presenting Crunkcore on the page is misinformation. I like tons of different genres and do not hold any one genre as my personal protective possesion as some elitist do, I love seeing the links between genres and think that is what is cool about how music is linked. I even listen to "Pop-Screamo" too like the first the Used album and Thursday so I am in no way a "tr00 skramz" elitist (in fact I included Pop-Screamo as a genre derivative in one of my edits which was taken down!), I see the links between music and what binds and connects the styles. The thing here was that Crunkcore and Screamo are not linked. In fact Crunkcore did not used to be part of this article even 6 months ago despite it exisitng as a music form since 2009. I actually went to restore the article as it was to its orignal form and thought the Crunkcore addition was a joke or vandalism to the page. I only want to help the integrity and accuracy of the article. I learned a lot about music through wiki pages and want to see the best possible information for future learners! :)
