Nvart Andreassian moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Nvart Andreassian, is not suitable as written to remain published. It appears there is a WP:UPE or WP:COI conflict. Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, and have addressed the UPE/COI issue, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. As per WP policy, please do not move into mainspace yourself. Onel5969 TT me 14:46, 28 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Your recent editing history at Ivan Aivazovsky shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. --Երևանցի talk 13:37, 17 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

This is English Wikipedia, so I would appreciate if you made your case in English. There is an ongoing dicussion open in the talk page (Talk:Ivan_Aivazovsky#Let's_reach_a_consensus). Make your case there. The article's intro clearly already states his Armenian name and his Armenian origin, but he was a Russian painter. That does not make him an ethnic Russian, but he was a subject of the Russian Empire. ----Երևանցի talk 07:30, 18 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
My answer in the Armenian language was directed to your Armenian answer, but now that's not the issue. I agree to reach a consensus, so let's write that he was an Armenian painter who lived and worked in the Russian Empire. Օֆելյա Հակոբյան (talk) 08:31, 18 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Copy-Paste

edit

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Draft:Karen Balayan (captain) a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Karen Balayan (captain). This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Classroom use of Wikipedia

edit

Per this comment at the the sockpuppet investigation into your account, it is the opinion of several experienced editors that your editing habits align with those of a teacher leading a classroom assignment involving editing Wikipedia. Using Wikipedia as an educational tool is encouraged and provides students with a unique opportunity to engage with academic material in a low-stakes public setting. However, English Wikipedia has several policies that govern how Wikipedia should be used in the classroom. Several resources exist to help educators and students navigate English Wikipedia's policies, including the Wikipedia Education Program info page and the education noticeboard for queries. Deletion discussion about Archaeological heritage of Armenia

Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Archaeological heritage of Armenia.

You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|TheLonelyPather}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Swinging Column moved to draftspace.

edit

Thank you for creating a new article. Unfortunately, the article is currently unsuitable for display in the encyclopedia, as it's tone does not conform to our neutral point of view policy, and many claims in the article are not attributed to a reliable source, in violation of the verifiability policy. As such, I haved changed the article into a draft, located at Draft:Swinging Column (Tatev Monastery). There, you can work on fixing the issues identified without fear of your work being deleted. After making improvements, you may request evaluation of the draft by clicking the blue "Submit the draft for review!" button, and after doing so an experienced editor will offer feedback and decide if the draft should re-enter the encyclopedia. Proposed deletion of Jamharian Perfumes

edit

The article Jamharian Perfumes has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Promotional article with a lack of independent sources. No evidence of notability.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. — Moriwen (talk) 03:59, 11 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Sahak Sahakyan

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Sahak Sahakyan requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from close paraphrasing: https://chinarmart.com/2023/12/26/sahak-sahakyan-the-master-who-opened-up-new-horizons-for-armenian-folk-art/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. April 2024

edit

Your addition to Sahak Sahakyan has been removed or altered, as it appears to closely paraphrase a copyrighted source. Limited close paraphrasing or quotation is appropriate within reason, so long as the material is clearly attributed in the text. However, longer paraphrases which are not attributed to their source may constitute copyright violation or plagiarism, and are not acceptable on Wikipedia. Such content cannot be hosted here for legal reasons; please do not post it on any page, even if you plan to fix it later. You may use external websites or printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If you own the copyright to the text, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the copyright but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Thank you. ARandomName123 (talk)Ping me! 23:33, 19 April 2024 (UTC) Sorry!
