As it stands there are no sources in your article – sources are required to demonstrate what we call notability here on Wikipedia (which has very little to do with the typical sense of the word). Before an article can be published, it needs to be demonstrated that multiple reliable sources unconnected to the subject have written about the topic. Additionally, the summary as written is not in an encyclopedic tone: phrases like "almost like a whirlwind" or "creative boon", for instance, aren't appropriate for Wikipedia articles. I've added a template that will allow you to submit the article for review once you think it's ready, but if you choose to do so now you will likely be told what I have just told you here. Just wondering how major publications (I.e Film Festivals, magazines (COMPLEX - biggest grossing music mags?) & newspapers (The Toronto Star?) in Canada are not "verifiable"? Especially when I linked to both their Wikipedia pages & the article of publication.

There are over 20 independent sources.

Mirrors

Thanks for contributing to the article List of Canadian hip hop musicians. However, one of Wikipedia's core policies is that material must be verifiable and attributed to reliable sources. You have recently used citations which copied, or mirrored, material from Wikipedia. This leads to a circular reference and is not acceptable. Most mirrors are clearly labeled as such, but some are in violation of our license and do not provide the correct attribution. Please help by adding alternate sources to the article you edited! As far as "mirroring" is concerned - you may want to cite specific areas you are talking about that are attributed specifically to me & point to examples.

I literally search, find an article, archive it & copy the citation info directly from the SOURCE. Not Wikipedia.

I DO link to the source's Wikipedia page if applicable:

Did you actually look at the actual code of my citations? The url links do not point to Wikipedia, they link directly to the SOURCE or Archived Source:

As far as the list page content:

I invite you to take a look at other lists on Wikipedia that do the same thing. Most have zero citations. This example is mentioned in the actual Wikipedia list style guide: List of American film actresses, all the links on the page are Wikipedia links & there are barely any citations.

I am sorry if any of my short descriptions sounds like another article, but I assure you I use solely Wikipedia links within the descriptions as clarification for people who may like to contribute - the words are mine & mine alone. There were no descriptions previously.

Also, when I started working on this Stand Alone list - there were a handful of citations on the list page. I am passionate about this subject & have already done tons of work to improve this page.

I am in the process of adding better citations. The Discogs links are there to show me the Artists other aliases, so I can find more credible sources. I do this in my spare time & have to come back to it, time allowing.

I'm aware of what a list is. The mirror in question is the one I removed from the list explicitly calling it a mirror (here). The site clearly credits Wikipedia at the bottom of the page and mirrors content from a deleted article here and at Simple Wikipedia. Additionally, please don't use google search results as sources; the little AI panels often copy from here and other junk sources and are not WP:RS themselves. Hi, I think I inadvertently made a new talk post instead of replying to you.

I had just created this list & within 2 minutes it was flagged as having 'no sources', it had no content, yet - just categories. I talked to the admin & they put it in draft & we agreed to publish when more content was added, then your notice showed up 2 minutes after that.

For a newcomer it feels like a consistent barrage of flagging.

Generic List?

I am working on List of Canadian hip hop musicians & have added the same categories.

Why doesn't Canadain hip-hop have the same variations? It does, hiphop subgenres that are flourishing across the country, even in the most French parts of Montreal.

There is not one list on Wikipedia that has all hip-hop related Artists for the United States. The main genre is 50+ years old. I think it's about time to have a page that celebrates the diversity of the subgenres, on one page.

The problem I have noticed working on the list is that even the most prolific of collectives/acts in Canadain Hip-hop do not qualify as notable per Wikipedia, because most of the time they are underground or do not care about mainstream media.

Mainstream media should not be a thermometer for how much impact people make on a culture - that is a fairly new phenomenon.

Oral traditions are still alive & well, this is how hip-hop flourishes. Wikipedia wants to be the 'go to' for subjects & people yet seems to rally against documenting important ones within the zatgeist of a culture. Which is ridiculous because you should honor the birthers of your craft, how do you do this within the confines of notability on Wikipedia? It is kind of frustrating to be honest.

As far as the American list: US Artists are more readily documented & have more established pages to link to. I think having a 'go to' page with everything hip-hop related on Wikipedia,that falls into these categories, for the United States will act as a means of directing people to new pages & Artists they haven't heard of.
