I created my account on 3-Feb-2005. I had been using Wikipedia as a reference source for best part of a year and then discovered the opportunity and value of contributing to this unique repository of knowledge.
My specialist subjects, to which I intend to contribute in Wikipedia are
- Buddhism, having studied it to degree level and having been a Buddhist for about 30 years
- Information Technology, having also studied it to degree level and having had hands-on experience in IT for around 40 years.
In the area of IT, I feel particularly capable to provide material on topics such as project management, CRM and business intelligence, application development and implementation.
I have thoroughly revised the article on Buddhist Rebirth and have expanded a stub on mail merge. I have also interfered in other subjects, such as Timpani.
If you are interested, I am a 55 year old, British male. If you are not, I am a 205 year old, Antarctican hermaphrodite.
There are beings on this planet who are of the opinion that I am super boring. I acknowledge their inviolable right to hold such a view. The freedom to express oneself is fundamental to our society in its multivarious forms and like many of my generation I have argued long and hard in support of this freedom, sometimes until past 11pm and under threat of being beaten to a pulp if I didn't shut up. In fact, I remember many years ago being intimidated by a very large, muscular man who had the absurd cheek to tell me to give it a rest. Well, I wasn't going to allow him to oppress me, as I explained to the nurse when I regained consciousness. Ah, those were the days.
