I have been using Wikipedia since the end of 2002, and find it an always interesting, often useful, sometimes frustrating, and very rarely useless reference.
I have very broad interests in information, and considerable exposure to information technology. I am an early adopter of most technology, though I don't consider myself a nerd, gearhead, or techie. I have an interest in history, politics, philosphy, science, and religion. I read a lot; a lot that I read is available on-line. I also get out from behind a keyborad a lot, though I use computer technology in my day job.
My trade is providing financial services as a registered broker-dealer in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Yes, I am a 'yanquis'. I am connected to Honduras by way of doing medical mission work, and engaging in some small construction projects for humanitarian purposes. My knowledge and training in Spanish is very rusty, by about four decades of unuse, and only about five years of use in the field and in the community. I love the Honduran people I have met and served (well over 3,000 in more than two dozen small villages and departments, most near Tegucigalpa, some in the lake area).
I have advanced degrees in Civil Engineering, and Business Administration, as well as doctoral study in Economics and Systems Engineering. I have work expereince in engineering (design and project management), computing (programming, sytems engineering, project management, database design and management), accounting and finance (management), and financial services (borker/dealer, planning, investment newsletter).VaChiliman (talk) 04:03, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
