Hi Truu. Thank you for your work on patrolling new pages and tagging for speedy deletion. I'm just letting you know that I declined your deletion request for File:Madonna signature.jpg, a page that you tagged for speedy deletion, under criterion F8 because the criterion you used or the reason you gave does not cover this kind of page. Please note that signatures are not by default in the public domain. Please take a moment to look at the suggested tasks for patrollers and review the criteria for speedy deletion. Particularly, the section covering non-criteria. Such pages are best tagged with proposed deletion, proposed deletion for biographies of living persons, or sent to the appropriate deletion discussion. -FASTILY (TALK) 23:20, 24 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Actor images can't be used to illustrate characters

edit

On iCarly and List of iCarly characters you replaced fair-use justified main character image File:iCarly Season 4.jpg with free-use commons cast montage File:ICarly mains.jpg. These edits were reverted as the purpose of the image in both cases is to illustrate the physical appearance of the characters in the show. In the character image the actors are costumed and made up as their characters. A generic picture of an actor does not demonstrate the physical appearance of the character they portray which is the point of the image use here. If the section and articles were primary about the cast as opposed to the characters, a free-use commons image would be most appropriate and definitely would be preferred over a fair-use image. Unfortunately this is not the case here. Geraldo Perez (talk) 21:34, 25 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Orphaned non-free image File:MTV ao Vivo - Eletrodoméstico.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:MTV ao Vivo - Eletrodoméstico.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 18:45, 10 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
