I am a second-year (as of Fall 2023) undergraduate student in computer science studying at one of the top 15 universities in this field, per QS World University Rankings by Subject.
I started editing Wikipedia in April 2020, when the pandenmic hit, and my highschool went into remote mode while significantly decreasing schoolwork due to mental health considerations. At that time, I mainly edited music (as I played the violin and piano competitively in highschool) and China human rights topics—a fairly contentious topic here on Wikipedia. But I do enjoy interacting with people on talk pages, and despite any differences in opinion, I always treat others nicely and try to be kind to them, as I believe that's how human beings should interact.
Since the start of university, I've had much less time to edit Wikipedia. But I still try to find some time in my weekends and breaks to edit things I'm interested in, including
- Computer Science related topics: Sometimes I will edit based on cs-related books and articles I read in my own time (e.g. pytest); other times I will edit based on materials I learn in class (e.g. Mathematical induction, Likelihood function).
- China human rights related (e.g. Ni Yulan)
among others.
