Hey there! I'm Melissa, a student at Georgetown University, working on my undergraduate French and German degree. My current class I work with as a Wikipedia ambassador is Film Theory in the Age of New Media.

History

edit

Early Life: 1992 - 2010

edit

I was born in 1992 in St. Louis, Missouri, and lived there until I was five, and from there we moved to Fishers, a suburb of Indianapolis, Indiana. During this time I trained intensely under CIA spies to become a secret weapon, but the project fell apart due to funding problems.

College years: 2010-2014

edit

My activities on campus include:

  • Mind the Gap information officer
  • I work at Gelardin New Media Center in Lauinger Library, where I am a student worker as well as a creator of the upcoming Gelardin podcast and workshops on Garageband.
  • Member of fencing club, specializing in sabre.
  • Member of the French floor in Copley.
  • Member of the Medieval Club.
  • Co-winner of the Reimagine Georgetown grant (and the fun that come with the logistics of it!)
  • Diligent student

Free time

edit

In my spare time I engage in acts of nerdom including Dungeons and dragons and Magic the Gathering. Other pursuits of pleasurable nature include blogging, creative writing, reading, and playing with kittens. My favorite TV show is My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, for which I am always searching for techno song remixes involving vocals from the show.

Post-Graduation

edit

In the future, I will go on to become the world's first inter-galactic linguist, translating alien languages and organizing inter-technology exchanges.
